My Last Wedding Chance

My Last Wedding Chance
Chapter 122 Love The Way You Lie

Still stunned and shocked by the reality of the pain she had to accept only overnight, Harumi lay still without knowing what to say.

His mother called and sent him a short message. But, the phone just lay on the dresser. In fact, not a single bit of Harumi tried to respond to him.

The silence of the night felt very strongly gripping his body. Harumi lay sideways with her eyes still awake.

Both of his eyes seemed swollen from being tired by the tears that kept flowing on his face.

Time has shown 4 at dawn, but Harumi does not rest herself. The woman kept opening her eyes. Although it was clearly a tired look that peaked on his face.

Tired, tired, full of pressure and pain in his chest that does not go away. It all felt as a single entity in her tiny body.

Thousands of questions kept teasing in his head, making Harumi feel this feeling back. A feeling of pain that he should not have ignored until now.

But, there was one question that really made her want an answer from them.

Why should they lie ?

Had crossed Harumi's mind, it turns out Anton's hope to become a Father has been Real.

Of course, the man was indeed expecting a descent and he was finally able to obtain one. At a time when Harumi has difficulty realizing his expectations.

But, why among all the women in this world. That woman is Cathy. That's what makes Harumi difficult to accept the reality of the truth.

It will not be easy for him, to be able to behave normally to them later will never be the same as before.

On the other hand, Cathy is a very trusted good friend, Harumi has always put her full trust in Cathy. There is no secret hidden from her, but on the other hand Harumi must face Anton who is her husband.

It was funny, Harumi thought, torturing herself as she lay in bed, imagining that Anton and Cathy were plotting various other lies.

While Harumi is struggling to live life, and he will. Of course he will. He will continue to live.

But his life would not move forward if he still stared and continuously blamed himself.

There was so much anger and wound boiling within him that he did not know how to deal with it.

Sighing that held back the fear as well as the unwillingness as she hated confrontation so much, Harumi stood up and grabbed her phone.

I don't know what she's planning, but she just wants one thing.

Any lie must end, no one wins or loses. But, Harumi just wants this to end well for everything without anyone else being dominant to hurt each other.

The Scripps Mercy Hospital, California

"It's so hard to see you, I have to make an appointment a week before. You're really crazy. It should be the patient who made the appointment with the Doctor, not the other way around" said a well-dressed man dressed in a white coat while staring in annoyance

With a mocking look, the other man replied "you really are like an old woman !"

The man in the white suit who works as a doctor, just smirked slanted "You haven't changed, Liam. I thought as you got older, you'd look better. Turns out I was wrong. You're still so proud."

The doctor stood up from his seat, walked to the table on which there was a teapot containing hot coffee and then he poured it on two cups.

As the doctor poured in, his gaze was cold. He was silent for a moment, then opened his lips again. "do you still see that woman ?"

It took a few seconds, until Liam finally replied "I haven't seen him in a few days."

Hearing his reply, the Doctor stopped pouring on the second cup "Are you no longer communicating with each other ?"

"Well" the sharp tone in Liam's heavy, masculine voice was enough to resuscitate the atmosphere in the room that was starting to tense up.

The doctor turned around, he looked at Liam for a moment then narrowed his eyes "Are you sure ?"

Liam did not respond.

After the two cups were filled, the Doctor brought them and placed them on the table.

"I know that woman very well, and as long as we're friends long enough. Never once have I seen your reaction like this to any woman you date. You've changed a lot." The doctor watched him a long time ago.

Again, Liam just kept silent no response whatsoever. His gaze was cold, he just sat while looking towards the large window in the room.

The doctor continued "Do you love her ?" he grinned again "It seems that I don't need your answer, already clearly drawn from the look on your face, Liam "

Liam started to open his lips, "Zac, I don't know what to do" the man spoke in a heavy slow tone, his accent very thin.

Doctor Zac Marton is a fairly well-known Surgical Specialist in the US. This well-dressed man was Liam's best friend. They were best friends because both of their fathers were also business partners in the property sector.

Zac rarely met with Liam due to their respective busy work. But their communication is very good. It could be said that Zac was a person Liam trusted very much.

This handsome man is still single, and recently it was discovered that he was in a relationship with a woman of the same profession as him who is also a Doctor.

"Listen to me. I've always warned you not to involve feelings in this. But, you never listened to me. Well, this is how it's going to be. Everything's gonna be hard." Zac's voice was sharp

Liam stood up, and stuck his hand in his pocket and started to step. Towards the Zac desk.

"Are you not thinking about what if the woman knows the truth, before your memory returns. Liam. Meanwhile, think carefully. You have to neutralize that feeling, so that your mind is clear."

Liam frowned, holding back emotions. He wasn't looking at Zac. But, focusing on staring at the various files on the table with a heart that began to heat up "Its Not Easy, you don't know how it hurts, seeing it standing in front of me but I ignored it. I missed him so much at the time."

Genuine worry dyed Zac's countenance "Liam...Little by little your memory starts to come back. That'll be the key, where you'll uncover everything that happened the night of the accident."

"I've hurt him, Zac. That's all I can remember." the man's head was low, his back whose fields seemed to harden as if the burdens of the past were starting to haunt him.

Zac took a deep breath "You've been trying to make amends without his knowledge, you want to bring back the woman's life again. And try to find the missing pieces of memory to be collected again. All you've done in a year. But.....Please don't involve your feelings in this. No, Liam"
