Chapter 26 The Early Surprise
I still looked at the man named Taylor, then turned to the gray envelope that was now in my grasp.
I opened, it turned out to contain a Greeting Card, very minimalist, in line with the color of the envelope, on the front cover of the card that reads "To : Benjamin Whiston (Ben)" .
This Greeting Card is indeed for my sister, I opened it carefully. Inside the card was a handwritten letter in black ink that read "Happy Birthday Little Boy Ben", then my eyeballs moved down looking at the sender's name "Liam Seymour".
"Liam ?" I looked up at a name that was no stranger to me. "Is the sender of all these gifts Liam ?" I asked who was very surprised and turned to look at Taylor.
"Yes Miss Harumi, this is all from Mr. Seymour" replied the expressionless Taylor. Even the way he talks is very similar to a robot.
Takeru who was standing next to me had his eyes fixed on the card which I was still holding in an open position and was beginning to be astonished to hear Liam's name.
"who's brother ? Liam Seymour ? Kaka know ?" Ask Takeru
Then Ben too followed the curious and ran to me. He was very enthusiastic about taking his gifts.
"So Rumi, this is all Ben's gift, right ? hayook we're open! we open !" said Ben who jumped with joy he could not wait to take his gifts.
"Wait for Ben, I'll talk to this uncle first. Ben wait inside yeah" I tried to calm my sister down, I didn't want to take this fancy gift and this much for granted.
"Don't want to ! Don't want to ! don't want to" replied Ben who was getting upset because I forbid it.
Mother stepped closer to Ben, she tried to advise her youngest child to obey me.
"Ben, don't fight Kaka Rumi huh. let's go inside first. Play inside, later if Rumi's kaka has finished talking to the uncle, then Ben can open the Gift, Okay ?"
Ben finally wanted to obey his mother's words and took her slowly to enter the House.
"Rumi, do you know who the sender is ? sure there's no wrong address ?" father who happened to be standing behind me with the other family.
"The sender's from Liam Seymour, he's Anton's boss. The owner of the company where Anton works" I replied turning to face Father.
Dad seemed surprised to hear my answer, as did Takeru and the family who stood looking at me.
"father need not worry, I will try to ask, I will explain" I continued
I started whispering and coded Takeru asking him to tell the family and father to come inside the house. I want to finish it.
Finally all who stood on the porch of the house entered including Father, after Takeru asked them to wait inside.
"Mr Taylor, are you sure all these gifts were sent here ?"
"Right Miss, we are just following orders from Mr. Seymour" replied Taylor, who still stood firm and did not even move a little. I was even faced with a big wall.
I took a deep breath, tried to calm down and think clearly. Picked up my phone in my pants pocket and tried to contact Liam.
When I called, Liam's number was off. I just remembered, he must still be on his way to California. A few moments ago I had a chance to talk to him on the phone, at that time he said in a moment he would leave.
I had enough of my mind filled with the secret documents I found in Anton's desk drawer that had suffocated me, and now added with Liam's gifts.
Because the arrival of Liam's letter this much with a gift that is not less numerous, became a very striking highlight by the neighbors in this neighborhood. I saw some neighbors standing glancing towards my parents' house.
I don't want to cause even worse talk lest they gossip strangely about my family.

There are even so many other gifts that I myself cannot imagine the price of these expensive items.
Ben the youngest had curly black hair, pale white face like a duplicate of a father but the 10-year-old version, he was impatient, her blue eyes were extremely radiant seeing all her gifts were inside.
He did not stop smiling happily and yelling joyfully at his father, mother and Takeru.
I don't know how many items have been placed inside, until my parents' house does not have space anymore to store them. Until some presents are placed in Dad's car garage.
"It's all Miss Harumi" Taylor reported
"Please, this is only while I put the gifts here until I can contact Liam. But, I'd like to ask you a favor, Mr. Taylor, if Liam calls you first, tell him I can't take all the gifts"
Taylor just slowly nodded her head, a sign she understood my intentions.
They finally stepped into the cars all black parked neatly in front and left our house which is now full of gifts from Liam.
Just as I stepped through the door of the house, Ben ran while yelling happily at me.
"You see, the prize is a Watches" Ben said, showing a silver watch with the theme of characters for children from the Famous Brand of Paris still wrapped neatly in a box in Burgundy.
I couldn't comment anymore, I saw Ben and the whole family opening the presents. They are very enthusiastic and amazed by the luxury of these items. It's the first time in our lives we've accepted all of this even on Ben's birthday.
Mother approached me who was silent standing in the living room.
"Rumi, can I talk to you both ?" Mom looked serious could be seen from the look in her eyes.
I who was initially speechless, gasped at mother's question.
"Yes, mom"
Now that we were both on the back porch, mom and I were sitting next to each other.
"Who's the guy who gave all those gifts, Rumi ?" ask mom to start the conversation.
"Liam, his name is Liam Seymour. He's Anton's superior" I replied carefully
"My son, I just wish that man had no other meaning to you" My mother's gaze now turned to look at me.
"I mean mom ?"
"Rumi, no man would give such expensive items if he had no other intention, let alone He was extremely Rich. I just feel like there's something you're hiding from mom"
"It's okay ma'am, maybe he gave all these gifts as a tribute to the results of Anton's work so far for the Company. Mother take it easy, I will talk carefully with Anton" I replied reassuring mother who looked very worried looking from the look on her face.
