Staring from a distance, Anton stood in silence. Of course, he could sense that there was a foreign feeling that started to appear inside him when he watched Harumi with Liam.
And that, made him a little riled up. Even if he tries to neutralize that feeling. Because for the Man, this was all about mere Business. Company and Career affairs are the main thing for now.
Not far away he heard someone's voice.
"Well, you're an amazing husband" said a woman who approached Anton and stood right next to him holding a glass of wine
Hearing the woman's voice, Anton turned his head. And sure enough, he felt familiar with the voice even though the woman was wearing a mask.
Wrong corner of his lips lifted "I didn't expect to see you at this party"
The woman took a sip of wine as she showed a wry smile on her face "Of course, don't look me down, Anton. I can also attend classy events like this"
Anton took a quick breath "Oh right, isn't this your chance to hunt a rich man that you can take advantage of his wealth. That's your thing, isn't it ?!"
The woman put her "preferably not me shoulder you should care about right now, I can manage my life. Shouldn't you care more about Harumi"
Anton's cold gaze was as cold as the huge chunk of ice that controlled his emotions "You don't need to manage my life with Harumi "that man turned his body around "If it wasn't for your carelessness, Harumi won't find out about us this soon." said Anton rudely
The woman turned her head and saw the dark eyes fixated on her, and it almost shook her "I've lost the trust of my best friend, Harumi hates me. And just so you know, it's not all because of my fault. You're involved, too, Don't forget it "
Anton could hear the woman's voice trembling "Well, I know and now my relationship with her is really falling apart. Our marriage is on the edge. You're gonna have to take responsibility, Cathy"
The gazes of the two clashed and Cathy did not need to feel her irregular heartbeat to know they were having mutual emotions. "Of course, I will try to gain Harumi's trust back. I don't want to lose my best friend. "
Anton laughed, a little more he would break the glass in his hand "How stupid I've ever known a woman like you"
"Of course, the stupidest thing is that you let Harumi, along with Liam's classmate, make out to each other in front of your eyes. And you just keep watching them act friendly" Cathy said firmly
Anton looked at the woman with the emotion of "CLOSING YOUR MOUTH !" holding back his tone, in order not to be the center of attention, the man pointed to Cathy's face intimidating him
"Are you unconscious or are you really so stupid, the man Harumi is with right now is Liam Seymour. You know the man well, he has everything, good looks, wealth, he can easily conquer any woman he wants. No exception with Harumi" Cathy said as she shuddered
Anton immediately gripped Cathy's arm so firmly, even her fingers were able to crumble the woman's slender arm "DIAM ! Stop your bullshit. Harumi is not like you. She is not a Cheap Woman who can be tempted with Money."
Cathy could feel the man's strong grip, making his body tremble, and she could clearly see the fiery emotion in Anton's eyes from behind the mask he was wearing "I was just trying to warn you, DON'T LET YOU REGRET IT !"
"Just think about your business and the child you're raising, never interfere with anything that's none of your business." Anton let go of his grip, he turned to drink champagne and stared at Harumi and Liam from the edge of the glass
Cathy gulped, her skin as if pierced by the man's emotions "I'm sure you've noticed Harumi's change of attitude. It's just that you don't want to admit it, because you're actually afraid of the truth. The Truth is Painful."
Anton did not respond, he just quietly let the woman keep talking. Because in reality what Cathy said was all true. Anton doesn't want to admit it.
"We've had a past, but I hope it'll be a lesson for us. I just want Harumi to be happy, maybe I've lied to her. But, I never intended to hurt her." Cathy looked into Anton's eyes that were gleaming with emotion.
Cathy chooses to leave the man behind, and she still sees tension on her shoulders as Anton turns his gaze back on his wife.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but Mrs.Anita wants to see you. He had just arrived twenty minutes ago" said Secretary Will, who approached Liam as the music stopped
Harumi turned her head from behind Liam's back and looked towards the middle-aged man called "Secretary Will, how are you ?" the woman greeted him with respect
The secretary of trust Liam replied with a smile "Good Mrs. Harumi."
Liam responded and stared at his Secretary "Alright, you can go now."
The secretary saluted and left the two.
Harumi smiled stiffly "You'd better meet your mother."
"Either what else does the Woman want, really bothers !" his rude words while a streak of annoyance was drawn on his face
Harumi did not expect, Liam would respond that way about her mother. In fact, he did not expect that Liam's relationship with his family was that bad.
Much is unknown to Harumi about Liam, the man has many secrets and his personal life is so mysterious.
Whatever it is, Harumi wants Liam to share it with her. The woman is very interested in Liam's real life.
"I'll meet him for a while, after that I'll wait for you in the garden." he said looking into Harumi's eyes
Harumi's fingers played the diamond pendant hanging around her neck "but, how can I meet you. Anton is with me now." The woman looked confused.
"You don't have to worry about it, I can manage. You just need to see me."
Harumi put her lips together to stop shaking and it took a while before she felt calm enough to say "Alright"
"I hate to see you always on that guy's side and one thing, never make me jealous, Rumi"
Harumi felt a burning awareness, as if each of her nerve endings had become tense and exposed by the man's sharp gaze. And even more dangerous is the feeling of heat that melts deep in his stomach.
Liam takes his hand off Harumi's body, and the man leaves her alone on the dance floor.
Harumi still stood there while staring at the man's back until his figure slowly disappeared among the crowd of guests.
The woman took a deep breath, her chest churning violently if she thought about what she had been through.
Harumi knew one thing from Liam, The man is Abstinence to Surrender. And that's what makes Harumi have to fight with all the things that really make it Dilemma.
