The sound of the chanting of the Holy Quran recalls from the television after dawn. Ferdian deliberately turned on his television to look for Islamic studies in Ramadan. Wearing a sarong, the man sat on the sofa with a Quran in his hand, and read the Quran with his mediocre voice. Not sweet but not too bad either. Usually he only recited the holy verse of the Quran at the time of Maghrib alone, it was at least twice a week. For some reason in Ramadan this time his heart felt called to read a lot, and find out about Islamic studies. Is it because he is now a father? It feels shameful if parents want their children sholeh or sholeha but themselves can not be like that. It is like being told to reflect first before lashing out at others.
Ferdian managed to read the Qur'an as much as two leaves, the most sheet of which he had ever read in one. Then he looked for Islamic studies on television. A well-known public pride dai seemed to fill the study, he also watched it, even though the event has been going on for a long time.
"They must be picked up, because Allah's guidance has come in the form of the Quran and Sunnah. Then the humans must pick him up. In what way? Read the Quran and Sunnah, study and understand it, and apply it in daily life. Islam is the knowledge of practicing it. We cannot only have knowledge but not practice it. Then his knowledge was in vain. Such a man is like the devil, who is arrogant and will not submit to what has been revealed and determined by God, even though he is knowledgeable and intelligent.
When we realize the lack of knowledge, then the presence of Islamic studies, close to people sholeh and knowledgeable, like we are friends with perfume sellers, then we will be splashed. So too when we want to study Islam. We cannot just be silent, to be smart we must definitely go to school. Therefore, attend Islamic studies and make friends with people who are sholeh. After knowing the knowledge then it is mandatory for us to practice also spread it.
What if someone is missing? Let it go, because we've been trying to tell him. Like a barking dog, the caravan passed. So the main thing is to learn, do charity, and spread it back. Well now check everything, has it been done or not, one of them? Or is it absolutely nothing? There is one thing we must always remember: death. Every living person will experience death. We believe that the last day after the life of this world means that our life will continue to the next life. And God warns us to prepare for the provision of our next life from this world. What have we done to increase supplies? Remember, death is the breaker of all things and pleasures in the world. If we are busy in the world but not in the framework of worship and charity, then prepare our supplies empty.
You want to be like that? And do you want to take direction when something bad actually comes first? God has many ways of reminding His servants. There is a subtle way and there is also a way that is rough to the point that they must be tortured first to realize to return to His path. Which way do you want to take your direction?"
Ferdian looked tense, his eyes glazed over. He seemed to be focused on listening to the study. His heart was struck several times by the advice of ustadz on television. The mind is raging, what have I done for my provisions later? I was too busy dealing with worldly affairs.
He continued to watch the study until it was finished, until the advice stuck in his deepest heart. He felt he had done nothing even at the age of 22 to become a priest for his small family, which he should have directed to be closer to God. Ferdian again pensively thought of the words ustadz. Until he was surprised, because of the clapping of his wife from behind.
"What do you think, darling?" tanya Ajeng who then sat beside her, the woman was still wearing her face.
"Do you ever think, when do we die?" ask Ferdian lirih.
Ajeng's heart was slightly surprised to hear Ferdian's question. Such a thing they had never discussed before.
"Why is that all of a sudden?"
"The place is famous with the study on TV earlier. I think that if we never think about death, we are very selfish to live in this world. Though thinking of the provision of death also for ourselves in the afterlife."
Ajeng.
"God's father is already there, but we are too selfish and will not pick him up. Do we want to wait for God to give us His most painful trials so that we may come to our senses?" said Ferdian again, the question was more to remind themselves.
"Honey, we have to change, albeit slowly but surely. We must improve worship, we must also examine. If necessary, I ask you to find ustadz who can come here for the contents of the study here. How's it?" tawar Ferdians.
Pensive ajeng. His heart raged, he also knew that he was still very lacking in his religious knowledge. Although for the matter of obligatory prayer, neither Ajeng nor Ferdian ever left. He smiled, "God willing!" answer later. Even so his little heart was still hesitant, if he joined the study he would have to close the aurat. He's not ready for that. "
"But let me find out for myself, I'll ask Karin!" say Ajeng slowly.
"As far as you are, baby! The important thing is I want us to be better, closer to God!" ferdian stroked his wife's head.
Ramadan is a good month to start changing in a better direction. Hopefully, Ferdian's deepest hope can be realized,
\=====
Lectures immediately began after Ramadan, which has passed for almost a month. The warm sun shines, giving positive energy to humans who are highlighted by the morning rays. Women are busy careers lately, especially after serving as the head of the library. However, she strives to be strong and optimal in all her roles, especially as a mother to Arsene. Today his heart is quite tense and nervous, because he will meet with the head of the book company, Natabooks, who is none other than Kevin. He had told Ferdian that with this position he could not avoid the man anymore. However, Ferdian already believes in his wife will not make trouble, after all they are adults and can think carefully about every incident.
Ajeng put his feet in the library. There are many files that he must read related to the Natabooks cooperation proposal that will continue to work with the faculty library. He does feel salute to Kevin who holds a commitment to continue to help provide quality books. The meeting with Natabooks will be held at 10:30 WIB, there is still about 1 hour and a half. He must finish his work immediately.
A female librarian knocked on the door of the room, Ajeng invited her in.
"Sorry ma'am, Natabooks' side has arrived. Now it's waiting in the lobby" said the hijab librarian.
"Oh yes, well soon I will be there," said Ajeng. He immediately tidied up the files he had read to completion, then put them into a folder.
He took his foot into the library lobby. It was seen that Kevin wearing a dark ash shirt was already sitting on the sofa with his other library employees. She was thankful that her heart was not nervous at all.
"Good day!" sapa Ajeng's.
"Good day!" said Kevin who was quite surprised to see the woman in front of him. He got out of his chair and shook the woman's hand with a smile.
"Bu Ajeng is now the head of the faculty library, Mr Kevin!" said the officer who had accompanied Kevin there.
"Come to my room!" bring Ajeng.
Kevin followed the woman who was wearing a blazer suit and a purple sponge skirt. He breathed, a little nervous.
Ajeng invited him to sit in a soft chair in his room.
"I've read all your bidding proposals!" said Ajeng, trying to be professional in front of his own college friends.
"Thank you!" kevin was brief.
"We have also negotiated with the faculty, so we will continue to extend the cooperation of the faculty with Natabooks" explained Ajeng who was sitting in front of Kevin.
"Thank you for the approval" Kevin replied again.
"But we have a special request." Ajeng looked into Kevin's eyes.
"What's that?"
"We want our students who have a hobby of writing to be able to send their writing to Natabooks, and publish there. I want literature students here to develop their writing potential. So can Natabooks grant it?"
"Actually to send a script, we have opened many opportunities for all writers. Maybe later I will talk to the editing team, so specifically for students here will be given greater opportunities."
Ajeng smiled.
"Thank you, Mr Kevin!"
An employee came in and brought them two cups of warm sweet tea into the room.
"Please drink the tea" said Ajeng.
Kevin also sipped the jasmine-scented tea, giving a sense of calm to his heart.
"Hopefully!" kevin smiled.
"Ehm...Jeng, can we not talk too formal?" kevin asked suddenly, making Ajeng raise his eyebrows.
"It's a job, so I try to be professional. Even in front of my husband I was like that when teaching first!"
Kevin chuckled, he saluted Ajeng who held firm to his principles.
"Oh yes, I want to apologize for the last incident I did with you," said Kevin bowed, recalling the events of a year ago that had happened between them.
"I'm sorry, Kev! So is my husband!"
"I just wish we could be friends again like we used to be!"
"Of course, we're always friends, right?"
They throw each other smiles. It seems Kevin has really moved on from Ajeng. Of course, he realized his biggest mistake was loving a married woman and now having children.
"Oh yeah, how's your son?"
"Arsene grows well and is healthy."
"When can I meet him, and will his father allow it? I just want to say hello to my niece!"
Ajeng laughs. "Maybe I can, next time maybe I will bring it here if I am free," said Ajeng.
"Is she really?" kevin was enthusiastic.
Ajeng.
"Oh yes one more, I asked for his prayer yes. Maybe in about two months I'll marry someone."
"What's serious, Kev?" tanya Ajeng could not believe it.
"God willing, doain. I'm still struggling to get her brother's heart, even though we've been preaching!"
"The khitbah?"
"Yes! It's been a month now that we've been doing ta'aruf" said Kevin.
"A Kevin berta'aruf?!" ask again. He was half in disbelief, how could a Kevin do the ta'aruf process. Ajeng believes Kevin's future wife is someone like Karin, his best friend, who is a shalihah.
Kevin nodded while laughing.
"What a weird sound? But that's it, a shalihah akhwat in the office can steal my heart!"
Ajeng so chuckled. "Congratulations Kev, hopefully the process to your marriage can be smooth."
"Aamiin's."
"Ah, if you take the invitation here, I bring Arsene yes. So you can meet my son. How's it?"
"Well, you can too! I'll just come here."
"Is there anything to say again?" he asked, looking at his watch.
"It seems not, thank you very much Jeng! I'm glad I have friends like you."
"So do I (so do I). You have big goals and expectations on our campus, and I salute you. We have our own ways of advancing our campus."
"Yes, you're right, Jeng! Then, I'll go back to the office and get on with the job."
"Good luck Kevin, make your wedding. You deserve the best (you deserve the best)!"
"Thank you so much!"
Both of them moved from their seats. Kevin took the map offered by Ajeng, they shook hands.
"See you soon!" said Kevin when stepping his feet out of the room Ajeng.
Ajeng smiled.
