Not the Successor to the Throne
Chapter 6. Shortest Time

Eiger did not expect that her mother would prefer not to interact with her. After the incident this afternoon, Jean had decided not to talk to him again.

Eiger's getting shaken up. In Willard's extended family, only his mother and father have been shields in every single matter.

While waiting for his father and uncle from the office, Eiger took a photo album. He reopened those moments of happiness he still had.

"Is this what you call a memory album?" lirih.

Old photos of the Eiger coming to this luxurious mansion. Eiger's birthday celebration is held every year also goes to the photo album. Not only one album was stacked there, but dozens of albums.

"Eiger, are you okay?" ask Blerim.

Upon returning from the office, Blerim sees his nephew single-handedly opening his photo album. He could not wait to approach the child who had always been his pride.

"Uncle, I'm good. It's just that I felt a strange event today."

Blerim was honestly surprised. During his decades of living in the mansion, he had never experienced anything strange.

"What incident?" Blerim sat down near the Eiger. He put his briefcase right on the table near the stack of photo albums.

"There's someone who asked the waiter to send food to my room. I thanked my mom, but she was angry. In fact, he won't even talk to me anymore."

"Oh, it's me, Eiger. I don't want to see you hurt yourself. If Brother Balthis doesn't want to think of you as a child, I can admit you. Uncle lives alone. If it's you, Uncle will be even happier."

Eiger closes the photo album. He stared fixedly at Blerim with a haru look. From childhood, Blerim always pampered him more than just a nephew.

By nightfall, everyone gathered at the dinner table, except the Eiger. The man was still in his room. Balthis this time was desperate. He needs the help of his two younger siblings to find the whereabouts of Elov Willard.

"Blerim, after dinner, come to my study. You too, David. I need to talk to you guys" Balthis said.

"Do you need an Eiger too, brother?" ask Blerim.

"No. It's just the three of us. I think it's better he doesn't know what we're talking about this time."

Jean had no idea what her husband was planning. He intended to come forward to ask, but was undone. It might be better to keep all the questions that concern Willard's successor.

"Has Brother already delivered food to Eiger's room?" ask Blerim to Jean.

"You rule me, Blerim? Why would I pay attention to him?"

Jean lazily responded to Blerim. He has always been a child protector who was never expected to exist. Jean's longing for Elov is severely tested. He gets more emotional when faced with a situation like this.

"Sister, if you want, you better take care of Eiger yourself. Brother Jean does not want to add to his frustration anymore" said David.

Balthis and Jean fell silent. The couple hands off. They only think about the perfection of their life, but harm others.

"alright. I'll take care of it first. In a few minutes I'll be in your study, brother."

Blerim to the kitchen. He asked the waiter to prepare a special dinner for the Eiger.

"Please prepare dinner for Eiger. Tell him to finish the whole meal. Let nothing be left. I want you to make sure of that. Can you?"

Blerim was a highly respected person who existed within the mansion. He's the friendliest guy. Not many people know about this man's secret. Very mysterious. Just like the other three families.

"Thank you."

This is what the waiter from the side of Blerim likes. The man had always respected the entire occupants of the mansion without ever being rude to them.

When he returned to the dining table, everyone had already left his seat. It was Jean who helped clean up everyone's former dinner.

"Don't let Brother-in-law regret letting go of Eiger just like that. He has been a part of your life for a long time. If Elov is found, I'll flatter you. However, if his existence is so hard to find, I will be forced to make Eiger the successor to the throne."

This is what Jean had been afraid of all this time. If Elov is hard to find, Willard's family will have to lift the Eiger instead.

"I'm optimistic that Elov will be found." Jean convinces herself that she is beginning to be troubled by doubts.

"OKAY. Let's take a look. And, what big secret are you hiding that you're willing to exchange a biological child for a foster child?"

After being satisfied enough to corner his brother-in-law, Blerim quickly headed to the workspace Balthis. Getting there, Blerim knocks on the door and then enters. Seeing the arrival of Blerim, David clucked upset because waiting for the arrival of his brother too long.

"Where to from? Long time," protested David.

"I'll take care of Eiger for a minute." Blerim took a seat not far from his sister and brother.

"Can we start?" ask Balthis.

"Of course," David answered still a stifling aura on his face.

Balthis explained the issue of delaying the announcement of Willard's successor. However, he also did not want to appoint Eiger as the successor of his family. He also explained the consequences caused when the Eiger has been inaugurated as the successor to his family.

When the true crown prince returns, neither Elov nor the prodigal son of Balthis can replace the Eiger. He's still the heir to the throne who will carry on everything related to Willard. Starting from the mansion, company, and ownership of all assets.

"Then, can we find Elov in the near future?" ask Blerim.

This is what Balthis is thinking about. After being taken by that person, the access to his son was already nonexistent. This is purely the fault of Balthis and his wife.

Balthis. "I've tried to enlist the help of private detectives, but until this moment they haven't given any news at all."

David and Blerim looked at each other. This time David was quieter. I don't know, what was that guy thinking?

"Why didn't we use the previous plan?" ask Blerim.

Balthis disagreed. Blerim intended to make an original plan to elevate the Eiger to Willard's throne.

"You want to make Elov unable to return to our family, huh?" Balthis's face looked very angry.

"Sister Blerim, I guess before speaking you didn't think about what the consequences would be. Brother Balthis has already explained in detail, but why do you not hear at all?"

David was upset. Not because Blerim defended the Eiger, but because of his attitude as if to protect the child. Since Eiger was not part of Willard, David chose to step down. He no longer cared about his only nephew.

"I don't think you're thinking about the effect it will have on this family either. Think about what you've missed in this matter? If you've found the effect of this delay, please meet me in the room! I know that Brother Balthis is the oldest here, but I also have my own reasons for not delaying that important event."

Blerim realized one thing. A short time would not have been possible to find Elov's whereabouts, but the hardness of Balthis's heart made it all complicated. Did they not think that the day of the announcement of the successor to the throne was predetermined?
