Not the Successor to the Throne
Chapter 7. Loss of Trust

An uncomfortable situation made Blerim prefer to withdraw from this short meeting. He also wants Elov to be found. However, the date of the announcement of the successor to the throne has been spread. There is no time left but to appoint the Eiger as his successor.

Arriving in front of the room, apparently Eiger was waiting for him there. The man seemed to lose his spirit. Blerim felt the need to talk to his nephew.

"Come, comein!" bring Blerim.

"No, Uncle. Just talk here."

"Yes already. Just say!"

Actually Eiger is a little hard to say. He'll quit the company because he's no longer part of Willard. He didn't want anyone to misunderstand him. It is clear that he is not the son of Balthis.

"Uncle, I'm stepping down from the company."

This one sentence makes Blerim not like. So far the Eiger has worked well. In fact, he was able to bring Willard's company even better.

"What are you talking about? Nobody fired you from the company. So, don't drag on with your problems. Tomorrow, come to the office! We have a lot to do."

There was a sense of unease working with people who had previously behaved well, but changed drastically like his papa, Balthis. Eiger is not comfortable in this situation.

They do not realize if this conversation is heard by someone. He also intends to remove Eiger from the company. It's a good opportunity to tell Balthis that it's appropriate for Eiger to be sacked.

"There is no rejection. You're still part of Willard. It will be like that forever."

Rather than bewildered, Eiger decided to return to his room without speaking a word. Blerim also entered his room. He wished that one of his brothers or sisters would come to his room.

Blerim headed to the bathroom to wash his face, brush his teeth, and change clothes with his sleeping pajamas. Actually he also heard the knocking of the door, but he still continued his activities inside the bathroom. When he's done, he'll just come out to see who's in his room.

"David?"

"For so long!" grouse David.

"I'm brushing my teeth. There's no way I'm in a hurry." Blerim approached the bed. "What's wrong?"

"Okay, I know that Brother rejected Brother Balthis' decision. I wonder, why Brother is still confident in the Eiger. Though it was clear that he was not a descendant of brother Balthis and brother Jean."

Blerim pulls the blanket. He sat on the bed and covered half his legs with a blanket. He took a deep breath and then exhaled.

Suppose David did not want to get important information from Blerim, he had gone out of the room because he saw Blerim's annoying behavior.

"Are you not thinking about Balthis's behavior? He holds such a big secret. Does he want to share it with us? Any reason regarding Elov, it is not justified. He deliberately traded Elov for someone else. Then now, as he opens his past wounds, do you think about the effect that it will have on our family?"

David is not as smart as Blerim. However, he was able to catch the intent of his brother.

Blerim underestimated his sister's beliefs. Logically, for 27 years Balthis hid this great secret. If he wanted to be found, Balthis should have been honest with them. At least you can anticipate what will be done afterwards.

"Until when? In fact, Brother Balthis doesn't want to be honest with us, does he? Do you still believe it?"

One side, Blerim's right. The other side, David was cornered. Between agreeing to Blerim's proposal or scraping information from his older brother, Balthis.

"I'll try asking him. If Brother Balthis won't answer, I'll try to ask his wife directly."

Blerim gave a mocking smile to his sister. Does he think it's easy to seduce Balthis or Jean into confessing?

"Please. If you succeed, I will wait for Balthis' decision. Otherwise, don't blame me if the Eiger's still on the throne."

At the recognition of Balthis and his wife, all members of the Willard family split into two camps. One of the only ones who remained in favor of the Eiger receiving as a Successor was Blerim. David himself was still hesitant to side with whom.

"Why don't you just get married, brother? It would have been better to help the Eiger become the sole successor. Who knows if you have a daughter from your wife. Aye, right?"

David's taunts this time made Blerim smile. How could Blerim get married? While his heart was already linked to another woman who was out of nowhere.

"You're funny, David. You should have married yourself. Why did you tell me?"

Being single at an age that is no longer young. Blerim wanted to laugh at his brother.

"Yes, yeah, all right. I'll get married if you get married first." David's frustration again peaked.

"That's it. Don't switch this conversation! Now, I want to ask you. How much longer will Willard's succession announcement last? If Brother Balthis can find his son quickly, I will give up on winning the Eiger. However, if day H is not found, then don't argue with me anymore!"

Even a calm blerim can be emotional. How complicated it is for Balthis to keep a secret of this magnitude. If Blerim decides unilaterally, there's a reason. If not for Willard's family, then who else?

"Why is Brother so insistent? I agree with Balthis' decision. That brother was just his brother Balthis. Don't try to be first!" David's loud voice was not inferior to Blerim's. If Blerim can beat him, he can do the same.

Blerim applauded his sister. Balthis and David had to think about the effect that it would have.

"Okay, now I'm asking you. Who most often highlights Willard's extended family?"

"Other people and the mass media."

"Well, you know. What if they finally find out the secret of Balthis' brother's family? Do you think it won't affect his position? People will lose faith with one of the biggest lies Balthis made. Think of it!"
