Painful Marriage
CHAPTER 167

🌹HAPPY READING🌹

Zahra kept looking at her phone that was not ringing. Her eyes also occasionally glanced out the window, hoping that her husband's car would come soon. It's been half an hour since he sent Kenzo, but there's no sign of him coming home, not even the message was answered, just read it.

"Pity of the Mother's child" said Zahra rubbing gently the hair of Sela covering her forehead.

Zahra put her phone on the table. After that he slipped his hands in the folds of his knees and neck Sela so that he could lift his son to be taken to the room.

"What are you doing, Zahra?" kenzo's voice suddenly stopped Zahra's activities.

Zahra smiled and again released her hand on Sela's body. "I want to take Sela to her room, Mas. It's not good to wake her up" said Zahra gently.

Kenzo throws his briefcase onto the sofa and turns to lift Sela up. "Think, in your stomach is my son!" kenzo said firmly and took Sela to his room.

Zahra looked at Kenzo's back who was starting to move away. Even her husband was not worried at all. But it's okay, at least Kenzo is still worried about their son. "This is also my son, Mas," murmured Zahra softly.

Zahra picked up Kenzo's briefcase as well as her cell phone, after which she walked up to Kenzo to the second floor. Zahra goes to her room to put Kenzo's briefcase down, after which she goes to Sela's room to catch up with her husband.

"Mas," called Zahra softly to Kenzo who seemed to be staring at the peaceful face of Sela who was asleep.

Kenzo did not answer, he just kept silent by looking at Sela's face. I don't know what he's thinking right now, only he and God know.

Not getting a response from Kenzo, Zahra sighed softly. "Mas," call Zahra again to touch Kenzo's back.

"I'll take a shower first" Kenzo stood up and left Zahra.

Zahra looked up to ward off the tears that would fall down her cheeks. It's midnight, and in her son's room, she doesn't want Sela to know any of this.

.....

Zahra sat in her bed waiting for Kenzo who was still in the bathroom. It was already midnight, yet the woman's eyes did not feel any drowsiness at all. All she had in mind right now was, she had to talk to her husband.

Chequek.

The bathroom door is open. Kenzo came out covered in his nightgown, but his hands moved to dry his hair with a black towel. Zahra immediately stood up and took over the towel Kenzo had on hand to dry the man's hair.

Kenzo just kept quiet about what Zahra was doing. She only complied until Zahra asked her to sit on the dressing chair.

"Why wet gini night-night hair, Mas? Cold for sure," said Zahra interrupted his activities.

There was no answer, Zahra still remained faithful to her activities. After being satisfied with using a towel, Zahra took a hair dryer so that Kenzo's hair dried faster.

"Already Mas," said Zahra after his activities were completed.

"Thank you" said Kenzo briefly. The man immediately stood up and walked closer to the bed.

Zahra who saw that went awry. What she had to do now, she did not know what her mistake was until her husband was cold like this.

"Mas," called out to Zahra gently with her hands hugging Kenzo's stomach from behind. The woman fell down next to Kenzo who was lying on his back.

"Mas, what am I wrong?" ask Zahra lirih.

"Don't shut up like this. We can talk well," Zahra continued.

"I don't like it. Don't be a cold man anymore, I'm afraid, Mas" Zahra said in a trembling voice. Truly, he could no longer bear the cry that he had delayed his existence since this morning.

Unresponsive, Zahra raised her head and looked at her husband's face.

Kenzo sleeping.

So he's been talking to himself since. Her husband did not even hear what she was saying.

Zahra tried to smile, her hands gently rubbing Kenzo's back hair. "Mas must be tired, yeah. This day work continues. Sleep well, Mom. I Love You" said Zahra kissing Kenzo's forehead.

A drop of Zahra's tears fell on Kenzo's forehead until it flowed into the man's nostrils.

Kenzo's eyelids opened when he heard the sound of footsteps away from the bed. He turned around and saw Zahra who was walking towards the bathroom.

Kenzo's outstretched hand wiped away the tears that had soaked his nose. It's not that I don't care, I just don't want to talk when my mood is not good. I'm afraid my words will hurt you, Zahra. I'm afraid my words will backfire on our relationship. Let me ease a little of this bad emotion, honey. Inner Kenzo softly stared at the tightly closed bathroom door.

.....

"Mother," call Sela soft.

This morning, they went back to breakfast the three without Kenzo. There's only Bu Sari, Zahra and Sela. Kenzo left his breakfast and drank only the milk that Zahra had made.

"Yes, son" replied Zahra softly.

Sela. His hands clinging to each other under the dining table hid his unease on Zahra.

Zahra who saw something from Sela moved to sit next to the boy. Miss Sari who saw it all understood, Sela must have asked about Kenzo. Because just now, as Kenzo was leaving, Sela witnessed for herself how Kenzo was being indifferent to Zahra.

"Well, why, Buna?" ask Sela scared. She was afraid that the question would cause her Mother to be sad. But he really wanted to know the cause of his father like that. Because he prefers his chatty, talkative father over a silent one like this.

Zahra smile. He knew his son would ask about this. His son is not a child who knows nothing, he is a child who is sensitive to the surrounding.

"Dad's just a lot of work in the office, son. So Dad was a little dizzy because of his work" said Zahra softly.

"Does Dad have a lot of love when Uncle's dad's money goes to buy a goat, Buna?" ask Sela slowly.

Zahra smiled and shook her head. "No, Son. Father's work is a lot, there is no connection with the goats that Sela bought," said Zahra softly.

"Tell me Daddy, Buna. Do not be too tired, Cela bica sell her goats again if indeed the money Daddy lives a little. No vinegar Atah secretly like that," said the child let out his heart.

Zahra. Even his son understood how his parents were today. It should be him and Kenzo who understand Sela's situation, but it's the other way around. She no longer wants her son to go through the hard times and the sadness that they had when they had not been back with Kenzo.

Zahra thought a little after hearing his son's words. "So you want to help Mother?" ask Zahra.

"What's Buna?"
