Chapter 14: Training

On the vacant lot near the mansion. Ren, Duke Fedel and Ferlin are standing there.

"Miss Ferlin, can you show me any of the magic you have?"

"Your... All right, Teacher Ren. Fire Cyclones!"

Ferlin read out the name of the magic he was wearing. The air around them became a little hot. A small, weak fire was seen trying to form a Typhoon. Before the fire finally disappeared in the wind.

"You can see Mr Ren? My daughter used to still be able to use this magic. But now he's not capable of doing it." The Duke explained with a sad face.

"Yes, I've been very knowledgeable about what happened to Miss Ferlin and the solution."

Hearing this, Ferlin and Duke put on shocked faces.

"Haha... I feel that you are not such a cunning and cowardly person." Duke Fedel laughed then left Ren and Ferlin there.

'The weird guy' Ren thought.

Ren's attention returned to Ferlin who was practicing. Although Ferlin had trained long enough. Ren could feel very little progress.

Ferlin's sweaty condition also indicates that he is having difficulty in controlling mana.

Ren simply nodded with a smile, then Ren left the Duke Fedel residence.

4 Days before academy selection.

They were amazed by the sight of the two people giving off a bright light.

This process takes 15 minutes, until the Light dims and disappears.

Ren opened his eyes, sweat was visible on his face. Ren had a little trouble in helping mana control.

Unlike refining the Core, purifying humans was much more difficult for Ren.

"Phew... It's tiring, harder than I thought." Ren muttered.

Ren was conscious, but Ferlin had no sign of opening his eyes.

Slowly Ferlina's body shook, and it would fall. Ren immediately propped up the fainted Ferlin.

The duke who watched his daughter fall immediately approached Ren.

His face put on an anxious expression Duke was afraid that Ren would do evil to his daughter.

"Ah.. Fedel Duke. Miss Ferlin was just a little exhausted and fainted." Ferlin, Ren's unconscious, leaves it to Duke Fedel.

Duke Fedel brought his daughter to rest. Ren would want to return soon, but the situation is not possible at this time. Forced Ren to stay in the duke's Mansion for a while until the duke's daughter awakens.

Ferlin has been training with his new teacher, Ren. Over the course of 11 days, Ferlin became a little familiar with his teacher.

Ferlin was trapped in endless darkness. He didn't know where this was, Ferlin could only be frightened. Crying and asking for help from his heart.

Ferlin continued to shed tears, he was terrified by this darkness.

Ferlin looked here and there, he heard the voice of his teacher. Ferlin felt sure it was his voice.

Ferlin ran in the darkness looking for the Origin of the voice.

Ferlin was exhausted, in this endless darkness. Ferlin continued running and ran looking for the whereabouts of the teacher who called out to him.

When Ferlin felt desperate and would choose to give up.

A white light was visible in his view.

Ferlin ran back..

Towards the only light in this darkness...

As Ferlin got closer to that Light, it exploded and engulfed Ferlin's entire body...

"Haaa!!!...." Ferlin woke up and shouted.

"You're awake, Miss Ferlin."

A familiar voice rang out, Ferlin immediately looked towards the source of the voice. There, he saw the figure of his Master reading a book by crossing his legs.

"Hiks... Hix... Mr Ren!" Ferlin let out a tear.

"Miss? what's going on?" Ren immediately approached Ferlin with a worried face.

"Mr Ren... I-I... Fearful. This is really you, right?" Ferlin was still crying.

Seeing Ferlin like this, Ren concluded that he had been having a nightmare.

Without a second thought Ren wiped away Ferlin's tears with his hands.

"Not to be afraid, Miss, I'm here." Ren spoke with a smile.

"T-Tu-an R-be.... Hua....!!" Ferlin hugged Ren and continued to cry.

Ren hugged Ferlin back, deciding to stay here for a while.

Ferlin who was crying in Ren's arms, kept calling out his name.

Makes Ren wonder, what happened to Ferlin?
