Chapter 172: The Battle of the disciples
Nivania rounded her eyes intensely. He could not believe that Anryzel had ordered the disciples to fight a swarm of powerful monsters in a weary state after a long journey.
"Yes! What are you saying?!" shouted Nivania.
But Anryzel did not voice the scream. He still ordered the disciples to deal with the monster horde by themselves. This was because Anryzel knew that the disciples were capable, and their abilities would never develop if they did not go through the worst of situations.
"Enough, let them handle everything themselves."
Anryzel said a word and closed the conversation. Knowing there was nothing else to do to stop Anryzel, Nivania decided to go help the disciples fight the monsters.
Then in one of the tents devoted to holding an important meeting, or commonly known as the main tent, some people conduct an emergency meeting to discuss strategy. Not to forget, the team responsible for lurking is collected so that this emergency meeting produces maximum results.
At least, they only have about five minutes to talk about what they should do to anticipate an emergency situation.
"The general has given orders! It is the duty of all of us as his disciples to carry out the command as best we can!"
"That's right, then let's discuss the best strategy to deal with those monsters. Surveillance team, tell everyone what you got!"
Three people standing in one row stepped forward, then one of them who was in the first position explained quickly.
"Report! From the eastward direction a horde of monsters consisting of dozens of Poison Ant, Blaze Ant, Giant Ant, and one Nightmaric Ant moved at high speed."
They were monsters that were in the middle class, generally aside from Nightmaric Ant, all of those ant monsters were at Rank C while Nightmaric Ant itself was at a higher level, the Rank B.
The second person who became the scouting team stepped forward, explaining everything he knew quickly and responsively. Different from what the first scout described, it seemed like the information obtained by this second scout was a little more sinister.
"From the western direction, it detected about thirty wyverns consisting of several special wyverns moving at high speed!"
Then the latter scout moved forward, giving a more startling description where several tails of high-level monsters were moving at a constant speed, not too slow and not too fast.
With that information in mind, several men who were appointed as commanders began to give orders. Then Nivania came and took part in the emergency meeting.
"Everything's moving!!" command of commanders.
A combined army of knights, magicians, and academy students moved in. The combined forces are divided into four separate groups, namely groups A, B, C, and D.
Group A consisted of 30 knights, 20 magicians, and 15 students of the academy. The group is tasked with dealing with an attack coming from the north, where the highest class monsters are located there.
Group C consisted of 20 knights, 10 magicians, and 5 academy students who were given the task to face ant-type monsters in the eastern part of the camp.
While group D consists of 10 knights and 5 witches, they are given the task to face the remaining monsters in the south. Based on the information, the monsters that were in the southern direction tended to be fewer and weaker than the monsters that were in the other direction so the smallest group was given the task there.
Then, because wyverns are flying-type monsters that move faster among other monsters, group B is the group that will start the battle first.
A swarm of wyverns flying about a kilometer away from Group B soon realized that their arrival had been welcomed. They felt that group B was just a bunch of helpless humans, so some special wyverns instantly shot out balls of elemental energy.
The perfectly round elemental energy ball shot out at high speed. Some of them have elements of fire, lightning, wind, and darkness. Therefore, group B could not remain silent if it wanted to survive this dangerous barrage of attacks.
"Immediately use barrier magic!!!" group leader B.
Five witches were devoted to providing protection to the frontlines by responsibly casting barrier magic. Then five layers of magic barriers were created between group B, then the barrier collided with the energy ball that a group of wyverns threw.
An intense surge occurred, it gave rise to some fog that blocked the view of some people. Then of the five layers that existed, there were currently only two left between them.
"It's bad if they shoot it again. All of them! Devote all your abilities to long-range attacks! As per my command, prepare your attack!"
Fifteen witches are making their greatest attack. While the ten students of the mixed-job academy only did what they could. Meanwhile, the 20 knights began to attack as they could to finish off the wyverns approaching the ground.
Seeing that there was a pretty good chance when the wyverns maneuvered to attack, the leader of Group B immediately gave a command, "Strike!!"
The entire magician unleashed their long-range attacks in turn. Magicians who have expertise in wind elements perform attacks first, they use wind magic to interfere with the speed and accuracy of flying on wyverns.
After many wyverns are disturbed, only the magician who has expertise in fire magic works. They fired various kinds of fire magic towards the wyverns. The majority of the wyverns were burnt by fire magic, they started falling down so that the knights could finish them off one by one.
The role of the academy disciples in this battle was not trivial, for those who used melee weapons, they would follow the knights, whereas for those who had magic skills, or long-range attack skills, they would follow the knights, they'll help the witch.
The cooperation in group B was pretty good even though this was their first battle together. More or less, all this cooperation is due to teachings coming from the same people so that they can understand each other.
Group B battles went so smoothly that only a few special wyverns remained. They began to regain the morale of the war after previously feeling insecure. Now the battle they do is more flexible and effective so killing special wyverns, not as difficult as they think.
Due to that fact, Anryzel watching from the air in the distance smiled quite proudly. Although they were only temporary disciples, but at least they practiced their teachings so that this development could be achieved.
