After escaping, Ren meets Rusava outside and tells him of Raytsa's current state. Rusava then took action by taking Raytsa to his own room to rest.
Then ... somehow, their situation ended up facing each other in the palace yard while finishing their respective weapons.
"Are you sure of that, Your Majesty?" Rusava pointed at the item that Ren was in his grasp.
"What's wrong with this sword?" sahut Ren astonished.
Ren looked at his ordinary sword. This sword should not have any special abilities other than being forged quite well by some talented blacksmith, then why did Rusava look troubled by that? Ren was a little confused.
"Your Majesty, I have never doubted your sword skills, but the sword is not very fair, is it?"
Rusava holds a giant scythe. Perhaps that was why he thought the fight between his ordinary sword and his weapon would be so unfair.
"Don't worry about that, there's a certain reason why I'm wearing this ordinary sword."
While emphasizing on the word "Regular", Ren slashed the sword into the air as if testing how great the sword's abilities were.
"Don't you underestimate me too much?" rusava asked with a bitter smile.
"Hm?" Ren stopped shaking his sword to turn his attention to Rusava who was smiling bitterly. "I don't underestimate you at all, even out of so many people I think only you are capable of doing match training with me."
Rusava seemed a little incredulous. Although he was actually sure that he would suffer defeat but an ordinary sword would be too underestimating of his abilities.
"Then I beg you with all my heart that you replace the sword with something better."
Ren held his chin for a moment, then he quickly removed the ordinary sword into another ordinary sword. Merely, this sword had an advantage in its blade that contained [Sharping] magic.
"What about this?" ask Ren.
"Ah .. at least it's better. In any case, it would be very bad for me to ask for further consideration. Please understand my limited abilities, Your Majesty."
Rusava spread his scythe diagonally to the side. The strong pressure emanating from the scythe blew the air away making a small wave all around. If judging from this attitude of his, it seemed like he would not take this practice lightly.
Ren himself hoped that, a match practice would not be useful if Rusava still considered this ordinary, and just playing around. They had to gain the slightest experience, but with that level of strength they needed seriousness in the process.
"Remember, even against me you are not allowed to hold back. I've put up barriers around us, the damage won't reach the crucial part of the palace."
Some of the pages they used to practice on might have suffered considerable damage, but some things could still be fixed by Ren and Arystina later on. The barrier installed by Ren also covers a large and strong area, will not cause excessive damage.
"As you wish!" rusava shouted as he lunged forward.
Their distance was shortened in a short time. Once the opponent was within range of the scythe, Rusava made a streak of attacks with non-playful force.
Each blow was filled with a great power capable of breaking even iron armor. But that power seemed as if it was nothing in front of Ren who had deftly blocked all of his attacks using an ordinary sword.
Because the sword had the usual qualities, it would be destroyed if it was forced to withstand a full Rusava attack. That way, all Ren could do was block the attack without pitting the resistance of the weapon for a long time.
Ren uses minimal interaction to block Rusava's attack causing his steps to be gradually pushed back. It could not be denied if judging from the quality of the sword he had.
But the limitations of the sword are what makes him wonder. Can he use an ordinary sword to make a full attack? Or can he overcome difficult situations with all the limitations that exist? That is the meaning that is now being sought by him.
The swordsman is the one who is able to make everything into a sword for himself. Wood, wind, water, fire, mind, heart, can be a sword for a true swordsman.
"Yeah!" Rusava focused all his strength on his scythe that was pointing towards the sky, then in the blink of an eye the scythe swung without hesitation as if it wanted to cut off Ren's body that was its target.
Ren did the same but from the opposite direction. After activating the magic to sharpen the blade, the sword and the scythe collided with the power, producing a loud clanging sound and throwing the air into a fierce wave around it.
A crack in the ground was seen under Ren's feet holding the scythe. Although the sword looked capable of colliding forces but in fact he cracked a moment later, then shattered into pieces into dust grains.
Ren immediately moved back to then take out another ordinary sword while looking a little troubled. In contrast, Rusava seemed very excited and in the highest degree of pleasure.
"Your Majesty, aren't you taking this match practice seriously?" rusava said astonished but still accompanied by a smile of seriousness.
"Why do you think that?"
This time the two of them braved together. Once again shorten the distance but in a shorter time than before. The moment they met, the sword and sickle again clashed against each other, producing clangs of sound in a rapid tempo continuously.
The looks in the air were only traces of the line of light produced by the attacks of the two. In such a high speed, even seeing the figure of the two of them was quite impossible for an ordinary person.
However as expected of a high-level fight, even though they were attacking each other but they were able to divide the remaining bit of consciousness to talk to each other.
"You're holding back, right? Otherwise, why can't I feel any activity at all!"
Ren naturally dodged smoothly, made a quick move and then appeared behind Rusava to then try to slash him with all his might. However, three blackish-blue magic circles appeared and created three consecutive explosions that forced him to retreat.
"Good trap, Rusava. But that's not enough!"
"You're kidding, Your Majesty? If from the beginning you activate the perception of mana, there's no way I can do it!"
They attack each other again. Something that could be seen in their battle arena was the light chasing each other, pitting forces against each other, and colliding speed.
And in the end, the one who slowly started to regress was Ren himself. Since he was looking for something he thought he could get from a pure fight using a sword without another, he ended up using no mana, magic, or skill at all.
Ren only relied on his physical ability to make simple moves from the Job Divine Swordsman. Being able to balance Rusava in time during this time was arguably a pretty good achievement.
If one day Ren experiences a condition that makes him unable to use mana, maybe with this exercise he can survive some time.
"I'll be more serious, Your Majesty."
Rusava turned the scythe until it looked like a wheel. A moment later, his scythe was wrapped in an extremely hot and destructive blue flame, they even caused the air to experience quite extreme temperature increases.
"Oh? Interesting, how about an all-out attack?" Ren put up strong horses, demanding that his physical body give off all its abilities in order to move as quickly as possible.
"Yes .. I won't hold anything anymore."
A second after, Rusava had already appeared before Ren's eyes and unceremoniously swung the scythe wrapped in smoldering blue flames. Ren was startled when he realized it, at full speed he rushed to avoid the swing of the Rusava scythe.
Ren managed to dodge, but the place he was standing before suffered severe damage where the ground became hollow with the form of a slash line. The color of the ground also became burnt black, a terrible impact considering that the attack did not hit the ground directly.
While Ren was moving, Rusava had expected the attack to be easy to avoid so he followed wherever Ren's figure dodged, and continued to attack him.
There was not the slightest chance for Ren to retaliate against the attack. In addition to dodging, Ren could only wait for the right time to counterattack capable of defeating Rusava at once.
But as Ren thought so, some feeling of unwearing appeared in him as if the bonds embedded in the soul had been forcibly severed. After all, this was a feeling that the individuals bound by his contract had been killed.
Realizing that made Ren throw all the mana that was pressed accidentally. Rusava who happened to be attacking was very surprised by the strong pressure of the mana wave, let alone attacking any closer he had trouble.
Feeling something strange, Rusava ended the battle mode and asked, "Is there something wrong, Your Majesty?"
Mana was still gushing violently, like a tsunami wave that swept through the air and suppressed everything. Ren was speechless with naturally burning red eyes, anger overflowing so he ignored everything else.
"Who ... who would dare to kill my pet?"
Thousands of once-called beast servants had spread to almost all parts of the Loudeas Forest. They live in the shadows of the forest while occasionally guarding the forest from all sorts of distractions, including monsters and destructive humans.
After careful consideration, Ren was able to understand the outline of where the feeling of not wearing it came from. They had come from the northern forest periphery which was directly adjacent to the Lodysna Empire.
From the feeling of not wearing that appeared in droves, the slain beast servant should not be a little. Although they could not speak, could not communicate directly with Ren, and did not have any special orders but they were still the beast servants he summoned.
As the one who calls is a must to help his pet, Ren will not remain silent. His brain returned clear, his emotions began to be restrained, and the overflowing mana had been suppressed as usual.
Rusava who had difficulty approaching immediately ran over. He thought there was no way there was nothing wrong with this situation judging the behavior of his master that changed so suddenly.
"Your Majesty, is there a problem?"
"Yes, some of my little pets were killed. Practice this match postponed temporarily, I will go to see who dares to do that!" Ren unequivocally stated then called Avrogan through a contractual bond.
"There are people who dare to do that?!" Rusava. A terrifying smile, and eyes filled with anger were seen within him. "Your Majesty, let me accompany you!"
"I don't mind."
Rusava who asked to participate required Ren to call Indacrus. After the two of them came, they immediately went to see who had the guts to kill Ren's servant beast.
The battle arena was left in a condition that was still horribly destroyed. However, Ren did not have the free time to take care of the matter now.
"If this was the Lodysna Empire then ...." Ren stopped talking, then smiled.
