The Crown Of The Nine Continents

The Crown Of The Nine Continents
Chapter 149: The Envoy Struggles

King Esdagius experienced a difficult situation in the face of the two emissaries. Problems would not be complicated if the people who came were ordinary messengers, but in this case they seemed to carry a direct warrant from the leadership of each empire so that their position could not be underestimated.

The existence of the letter had a great influence in determining the attitude to be given by King Esdagius. For ordinary messengers, King Esdagius did not need to think about every word that would be spoken, but for the messenger who held the command of the leader then he could not at will say something.

The words spoken to the messengers will be considered as the words spoken to the leader who sent them. In other words, if King Esdagius insulted the imperial envoy then it would be no different from him insulting the emperor indirectly.

It would not cause trouble if there were no mistakes at all, but putting aside the bad possibility, King Esdagius felt depressed after all.

And-and

In the presence of King Esdagius stood two imperial envoys who had two bodyguards beside them. Whenever considering they were from a great empire with a combat power several times stronger than the Kingdom of Aulzania, King Esdagius felt a little afraid.

This fear was dominated by the feeling of worry for the possibility of two empires that would not let go of the Aulzania Kingdom so easily. The worst is likely to be a war involving innocent people. King Esdagius would never have expected such a bad thing to happen.

While King Esdagius was busy imagining situation after situation, one of the two envoys stepped forward and saluted to introduce themselves.

"Armilein Nhi Ruvilla, the envoy ruled by, His Majesty the Emperor of Exousillia, has arrived and is facing you, His Majesty the King of Aulzania."

King Esdagius was immediately fixated on the surname contained in the name of the Great Imperial envoy, "Nhi Ruvilla" who was the most loyal noble family to the empire. History says they were the first and oldest family to sustain the empire from the founding of the Great Empire of Exousillia.

In terms of position, power, and strength, the Nhi Ruvilla Family was certainly second only to the emperor's own family. Although Armilein was not an imperial family, even the Nhi Ruvilla Family could not be considered careless.

What was it with the Great Empire of Exousillia to the point of sending their famous family princess as a mere envoy? Everyone has a reason that is not simple.

"It is an honor for the Kingdom of Aulzania to receive such an honorary guest as you, Miss Armilein Nhi Ruvilla."

Yes ... Armilein, she's a girl. When a messenger is usually played by a male, it is unique enough for the Emperor Exousillia to send a female.

"Your Majesty needn't be too shy, however I don't have such a high standing to earn your respect" Armilein said politely.

King Esdagius nodded in admiration. His eyes examined the figure of Armilein who looked young and promising. All his attitudes, ranging from words and body movements are highly trained and reflect a princess.

Then when King Esdagius voiced his admiration inwardly, the Imperial envoy Lodysna stepped forward. The envoy did not bow or salute, but instead directly spoke introducing himself.

"Lorei Zonio, number six is facing you, King Esdagius."

There is no other word that can describe the feelings of King Esdagius other than "Issified". The attitude shown by the Imperial envoy of Lodysna did not reflect any manners at all. At least, even if that person was the envoy who received the emperor's direct order but it was not appropriate to ignore the formalities among the people of the position in the first meeting.

Speech that was not accompanied by respect, and posture that looked more like a bandit than a messenger made King Esdagius sick. Even a man who used to say disrespect and arrogance before him still had his own artful posture, speech, and movements within.

"S-It is also an honor for the Kingdom of Aulzania to be able to receive guests like this Mr. Lorei. Perhaps it was only me who had never heard of it, or since when did the Lodysna Empire have the Zonio Family as nobles among them?"

King Esdagius refrained from being patient as much as possible even though his heart was struggling to expel the messenger who did not know the rules and decency named Lorei.

"Noble family? Too bad, I don't belong to any family, you can guess that I'm just a strong commoner."

Everyone present there was angered by his attitude, except for the envoy of the Lodysna Empire itself. Derrian who was acting as the bodyguard of King Esdagius along with one other was about to take action, but it was stopped by the voiceless Armilein.

"Sorry, Mr. Loray, isn't it?"

No way, they all heard clearly that his name was Lorei, and not Loray. So ... Armilein must have had a certain intent when calling him that.

"Keh, I don't expect the Great Imperial envoy to have troubled ears," growled Lorei looking furious.

Instead, Armilein looked relaxed and accepted all of that with a gentle, friendly smile. Armilein covered her mouth as she began to chuckle as she spoke.

"Fufufu, I'm sorry. I heard your name like Loray, in the story passed down in our family, Loray is a mutated humanoid monster. Of course he had a poor appearance and attitude, unable to compare to a reasonable being. I hope, Master Lorei can forgive him."

It turned out that it was sarcasm, even King Esdagius could feel Lorei's anger from his unfavourable expression. It was a precious opportunity if Lorei was angry to the point of using force, then that way King Esdagius had a reason to expel him.

"Then, you are the messengers I respect. Let's forget about what happened just now and start discussing the main issue."

Letting the two envoys talk to each other would have no good effect, King Esdagius knew so well of it that he turned their attention to the main problem.

"Oh? Your Majesty is wise. Well, that's what it's supposed to be."

Staring hatefully at Armilein, Lorei still did not show the slightest manners.

"I'm giving up, but only for now."

At this meeting, the envoy who has higher authority is welcome to speak first. Between the Lodysna Empire and the Great Empire of Exousillia, of course the winner was Armilein from the Great Empire of Exousillia.

"I brought up three questions from His Majesty the Emperor, he said if the Kingdom of Aulzania is able to provide satisfactory answers to these three questions, then the Great Empire of Exousillia will withdraw from the problem."

King Esdagius gave a joyous response, with the statement being made, there was a guarantee that the Great Empire of Exousillia would release them as long as the answer was satisfactory.

"I hope, Mr. Dirvaren has a satisfactory answer!" king Esdagius said through his heart.

Looking at King Esdagius who seemed pleased by something, slightly made Armilein raise an eyebrow because after all he had not said everything he wanted to say.

"However, as commanded by His Majesty the Emperor, the Kingdom of Aulzania could not give an answer that satisfied him, then there was no choice but to regard the Kingdom of Aulzania as the main mastermind of the destruction of the Sancteral Holy Kingdom."

GLEKK!

King Esdagius stiffened at the thought of the possibility that the worst was actually happening in plain sight. If the Kingdom of Aulzania was considered the main mastermind, then they would be considered enemies by all the countries that existed on the continent, and when that happened all the royal families were likely to be executed.

"No, I can't let that happen! Anyway, I trust Mr. Dirvaren, he must have done something because he was the one who knew the truth the most!" king Esdagius assures himself in his heart.

"Rest assured, Miss Armilein. As King of the Kingdom of Aulzania, I will give you a satisfactory answer."

Armilein smiled then nodded and then took a step back. Clearly Armilein had provided an opportunity for Lorei to speak as an envoy of the Lodysna Empire.

"Huff, I don't like to talk about this at length. King Esdagius, the emperor ordered me to announce to you, The Lodysna Empire has been fully convinced that it was the Kingdom of Aulzania that destroyed the Sancteral Holy Kingdom, therefore we will consider you enemies from the moment this message is given."

Armilein, King Esdagius, and Derrian were immediately rounded by such a shocking statement. A bravery should at least have its limits, although the Lodysna Empire does consider the Kingdom of Aulzania as an enemy but that does not mean they have to announce it at that time.

"Mr Lorei! Is there nothing wrong with the message?!"

King Esdagius certainly did not accept, how could they decide the Kingdom of Aulzania as an enemy without considering many things first? This is too absurd.

"There's no mistake, and this decision won't change no matter what."

Armilein turned a blind eye while thinking that it was this decision that the Lodysna Empire had taken. Armilein once smiled mockingly at this careless decision.

"T-No way" said King Esdagius lethargic.

Although King Esdagius was furious with the decision, but he knew that doing something against the current Lorei would only add to the grudge of the Lodysna Empire. It was entirely possible for them to deploy troops and slaughter the Kingdom of Aulzania without remaining, let alone the news that the Lodysna Empire had grown stronger in recent years.

Just as Armilein was about to come forward to take over the conversation, that was when the door to the room where they were holding this meeting opened. Following the sound of an open door roaring, a voice said with a strong killing intent.

"A vain worry, King Esdagius. Since they themselves have considered us enemies, why don't we just kill him?"

Then-then

The last person that King Esdagius was waiting for appeared, and suddenly voiced a very brilliant opinion. He was Anryzel Dirvaren who had surprisingly unsheathed the sword in her hand.
