Chapter 164: Battle of Kannabi Bridge

n In Manga, the battle of the Kannabi bridge marks the birth of two Sharingan-holding heroes.

Someone used hers to copy over a thousand Jutsu, to be known as "Salin Ninja", Kakashi of the Sharingan.

The other is Obito Uchiha, whose name is engraved in the village of "Memorial Stone" to be immortalized as one of the fallen village heroes.

It was a decisive battle; one that completely changed the lives of both of them.

It was also a battle that laid the seeds for future events to take over the Shinobi world.

Ryo, as a person who had an idea of the future, was well aware of the importance of this battle. However, he had no intention of changing Obito's current fate.

The reason is simple: if allowed to evolve like in Manga, Obito will end up with Mangekyo.

Mangekyo Obito has a special ability, [Kamui], which can be described as the ultimate "Hack" in the Narutoverse.

Kamui's principles are very simple. It is capable of moving bodies and objects that come into contact with it back and forth between this world and Kamui's own dimension.

This ability could make him move part of his body back and forth between the two dimensions, giving him an innate ability that was almost invincible and allowing him to ignore all attacks.

Ryo's plan is to use Rin's "death" to make Obito activate his Mangekyo, and then change his fate afterwards.

The key to this plan is Rin. Rin, Kakashi and Obito are some of the friends Ryo has in life. He definitely WOULD NOT let her die!

Whether he can save Rin or not, is something that completely depends on the "ace up his sleeve" he has prepared.

According to the events in Manga, after this battle is over, Kakashi and Rin should be able to return safely to Konoha. But Ryo is still uncomfortable, and wants to join them just in case Rin is in danger.

The current state of Naruto's world has changed a lot. Due to the presence of Ryo and Sakumo, Konoha emerged as the sole victor of the war, and the terms of the Fire Nation agreement with other countries were more favorable to Konoha.

However, a lot of consistency with the Original timeline still exists. The village of Batu sent thousands of Ninjas who disrupted the Fire Nation's borders to force Konoha on its own terms.

Now, as in Manga, the main motive of Batu is to get more cards in their future negotiations with Konoha.

However, their efforts were destined to fail.

When Ryo arrives on the battlefield, he happens to witness Minato using the Flying Thunder God to kill dozens of Rock Ninjas, including the three Jonins, in the blink of an eye.

Ryo did not make his presence known. The moment he saw Minato in this battle, he grew even more shocked and surprised. He did not expect that Minato would become stronger.

In his early 20s, Minato developed the Flying Lightning God to the extreme. In his previous life, Ryo had often heard that the faster one would emerge victorious in a martial arts fight. Minato was the epitome of speed, displaying it in full.

Ryo had always thought that Minato should only be slightly stronger than him in Sage Mode. However, after witnessing his battle, he realized that he was completely wrong.

Before this battle, Ryo felt that the strongest in Konoha was still the 3rd at the time, followed by Sakumo and Minato, then Sannin and himself.

However, it now seems that Minato is really stronger than the 3rd, becoming the absolute strongest Ninja in Konoha.

If Minato was currently facing Pain at his peak while knowing his secret, Ryo thought Minato would step on!

After Minato killed this group, he immediately went to support the other Konoha Ninja. Ryo did not proceed to watch this "show" but rushed to the Kannabi Bridge.

The Kannabi Bridge is in the Grass Village area, and a vital pathway to the Batu supply line. The mission of the Kakashi trio is to blow up the bridge.

This would put the Stone Ninja on the front line alone without supplies. They had to put them in a position where they struggled to find something to eat, let alone fight.

Therefore, if this bridge were to be destroyed, Konoha would basically have to announce their full victory.

After Ryo reaches the border, he enters the ascetic Mode and starts searching for Kakashi's team.

Ryo senses that Obito's Chakra is getting weaker. He became alert and entered the Ice Lightning Chakra mode, rushing towards the Trio.

After Sensing the Ice Surgical Blade on Kakashi, he immediately teleported to her.

To ensure Rin and Kakashi's safety, Ryo passes two men in front of the cave and enters in search of Obito.

The smile he saw in the corner of the Earth Ninja's mouth suddenly made Ryo cringe. When if he was too arrogant and relied too much on Manga? What if the wounds Obito received made him unable to be saved? (T/N: You didn't say it?)

The scene in front of him was like the one in Manga, but the shadow of Obito's carefree smile was the only thing before him, and the scene of the meeting of the three replayed in his mind.

“You can only escape with luck. But how long will it last for you?” A Rock Jonin.

"No! This kid is not the Uchiha we just killed! You who?" Jonin asked Ryo.

"Ryo... Obito's..." Rin's voice sounded like a cry, and Kakashi lowered his head without saying a word.

Seeing the state of the two friends, Ryo became increasingly emotional, and his Sharingan that opened reluctantly, filled with tears.

“Kakashi, Rin.. forgive me!” This was the first time Ryo felt such sadness.

“Rio, don't blame yourself. Before he died, Obito called you, he.. thank you, for all your help, and was glad he had to have you as his friend!”.

Rin's words made emotions explode in Ryo's heart, and the tomoe in his Sharingan kept spinning.

“I will kill these three boys, and go and see if there is another Kono.” The words Rock Ninja come to a halt.

The other Jonin broke out in cold sweat, watching his friend's head fly high.

He realized that dealing with this person in front of him was far beyond his means, and turned around and ran.

Ryo would not chase after him, therefore Jonin was stopped by the figure of a person with the Lightning Chakra covering his fist.

Kakashi was finally able to control Chidori after receiving the Obito Sharingan. Jonin did not even have time to react before Jutsu pierced through his heart.

Kakashi loses his own abilities after killing Jonin.

Ryo and Kakashi walk back to Rin. Seeing their grieving friend kneeling down, Ryo wanted to comfort her, but was at a loss for words.

“Rin... You... are okay?”

Rin shook his head and did not speak. He looked at Kakashi, then turned to Ryo and was shocked!

“Ryo... Your eyes!”
