Chapter 169: The Fugaku Plan

C This situation makes Katachi a dilemma.

The 3rd answer made Minato smile. He called out to Fugaku's head, and then turned to Katachi. Looks like he and Fugaku have reached some sort of agreement.

After negotiations began, from Fugaku's stance, Minato further confirmed his first assessment.

That was because when Katachi asked Sakumo to return his eyes, Fugaku turned a deaf ear to this and occasionally looked into the 3rd eye.

Everyone present was aware of what was going on between the two, and Katachi soon realized that he might have fallen into Fugaku's trap by letting him be the one to bring the 3rd.

Sure enough, after the conversation had begun, the 3rd practically passed Katachi, speaking mainly to Fugaku to find out what the Hatake clan had to pay in order for Kakashi to save the Sharingan.

On the 1st, Katachi and the other clan elders collectively opposed the matter. But when they heard Sakumo say that he was willing to offer a quarter of the Hatake clan property, they all fell silent.

The Hatake clan had flourished in Sakumo's hands. It turned stronger and richer over the years. Although it was not comparable to the Uchiha, it was still comparable to the Nara and Sarutobi clans.

Hearing Sakumo offer a quarter of his clan's possessions to one Sharingan, all the Uchiha present accept the offer except for Katachi.

“You can't be stubborn Katachi dono!” The other elders of the Uchiha were afraid that Katachi would once again interfere, and quickly try to prevent him from doing so.

Katachi's heart was bleeding, but he didn't speak. Fugaku's advice goes against whatever argument he's going to make.

After Fugaku succeeded as the head of the Uchiha clan, Fugaku did not leave him full control of the clan. It was the opposite, with him monopolizing power.

Fugaku is treated like a young prince, with Katachi being his minister who does everything.

My fugaku obviously did not want this situation to continue, as he could only truly become the clan head if he could control it completely. However, Katachi had been the clan head for many years, managing his interests, and his prestige far above his successors.

Helpless, Fugaku would simply lurk and wait for an opportunity to seize control. The opportunity came to his lap when he heard Kakashi get his Sharingan.

Katachi is a brutal man who clings to tradition. Fugaku managed to use that to make him fall into his own trap. That way, he managed to weaken his prestige among the Uchiha clan.

In the end, both parties reached an initial consensus with a third party as an intermediary. The Hatake clan will pay a quarter of their property and the price to bring Kakashi to Anbu in return for Uchiha's guarantee that they will not ask any more questions about Kakashi's eyes.

A few days later, Hatake sent Uchiha a large amount of silver. The Uchiha receives money that benefits all its members. Everyone except Katachi was very satisfied.

Negotiations also allowed Fugaku to gain supporters in the clan, rising to the status of being the actual clan head.
