Chapter 3

They're trying to reduce our stamina, huh? Latifa would not last long at this speed. The situation will only get worse at this rate. Rio analyzed the situation on the spot before making a decision.

“Latifa, come! Hiding behind a hill there. ”

“Hah? Ah ... T-But!” The order suddenly confused Latifa; she was strongly opposed to the idea.

“It's okay, just go! It's okay, I can arrange this myself! Understood?! ” Rio repeated in a stronger tone, before stopping without waiting for an answer.

For a moment, Latifa's speed dropped drastically. But he was well aware of how heavy his load was, so he focused on running even when his face was shattered from embarrassment. One of the Winged Lizards shot towards Rio.

“Sorry, but you can't pass me,” Rio muttered, taking off his backpack before jumping into the air towards the Winged lizard.

He grasped his long sword in his right hand and thrust it into the body of the creature.

Very hard! And heavy! Despite his astonishment at the sensation in his hand, he pulled his sword back. He grabbed the Winged Lizard's neck and pulled it closer to him, flipped his body backwards in an agile motion, then used it as a stepping stone to attack the other Winged Lizard.

The Winged Lizard that was currently under siege tried to attack Rio and repel him, but Rio gathered essence in his arms and increased his strength. Then, he swung the swords as they passed each other and dropped the neck of the beast.

Immediately, Rio created a gust of wind in his left hand and used a reverse thrust to brake and land on the back of that headless creature. That was when a new Winged Lizard tried to attack Rio. Without batting an eyelash, he shot again the wind towards the creature he was standing on. His body shot upwards, causing the attacking Winged Lizard's jaws to cover only thin air.

Rio turned his body in the air and brought his sword to the neck of the Winged Lizard from above. Not long after he did that, he stuck his left arm up and used an inverted thrust to jump behind the Winged Lizard that had just been decapitated. Landing on his back, Rio

sheathing his sword at his waist and extending both of his hands to each side, using essence to create a huge fireball. He launched them at two Winged lizards nearby.

The fireball curved neatly in the air as they collided directly with the creature. Shock waves rang out from the collision, shaking the air around them, but the only damage the Winged Lizard did was their balance was wasted. They may be half dragon, but they are still famous as demon creatures – their skin is very resistant to heat.

“Kraaah!” The Winged Lizard Leader raised his strange voice in protest, responding to what he considered to be the threat of Rio –. They scattered in all directions and fled.

Meanwhile, the Winged Rio Lizard was standing on a collision course with the ground. Just before making contact, Rio directed a gust of wind towards the ground to soften the impact. The force of the wind blew it backwards, lifting it into the air. Furthermore, he maximized the improvement on his physical body before landing a short while after the Winged Lizard crashed into the ground.

After Latifa managed to escape alone, she was faced with a different threat than the one Rio faced.

“Hah .. Hah .. H-huh ?!”

When she hid behind the hill that Rio was pointing at and took a breath, she suddenly smelled the scent of something else. Glancing around nervously, he saw the Lizardman – another subspecies of the dragon like the Winged Lizard. The shadow of death loomed over him; fear clawed at his heart.

“Eek ?!”

Body shaking, Latifa prepared a dagger. For all the murderous experiences he had up until now, he had never been on his own attacked side. Lizardman is two meters tall and boasted five meters from head to tail – is almost like a – dinosaur with its whip-like tail swinging from side to side.

Using the movements already embedded in her body, Latifa jumped instinctively. He flipped once in the air and stabbed the back of the Lizardman with a dagger. However, his physical charm was not enough to make up for his childish power. His dagger's light attack only pushed the creature further.

“Ugh! A-It's so hard ?! ” Faced with the fact that her dagger could only scratch the surface of her skin, Latifa gasped.

Overwhelmed at that, Latifa face twisted in fear. If he could use his fighting abilities to their full capacity, he would be able to create as many escape routes as he wanted. What Latifa did not have in strength, after all, she made up for it quickly. During

The Lizardmen seemed to catch his fear as they wagged his tail in ridicule in a mock attack against him. Latifa somehow managed to dodge the attack with her jump, but the chaos within her only grew stronger. His movements became slower and slower.

“Kya ?!” Finally, Latifa stumbled and fell.

He tried to stand up hurriedly, but his body collapsed beneath him. There was no strength in his arms.His legs did not move either. The Lizardmen stopped their intimidating look and slowly walked forward.

“Ugh, ah .. T-No... S-Save me .. O. .. Onii ... chan ...” Latifa squeaked, almost crying, when her imminent death approached her - with a step.

The lizardman is sharp. It was the same as Latifa had experienced before; she squealed as she opened her jaws wide. A glimmer of hope lit up in Latifa eyes. Instead, the Lizardmen, instinctively sensing that they had something to fear, retreated gradually. Rio held his sword at a ready position and released a terrifying aura. His brownish-brown eyes gleamed sharply, closely observing the Lizardmen, before suddenly appearing.

He moved like the wind, closing the gap between them and placing himself before Latifa instantly. After cutting off the neck of the Lizardmen that was in front of him, he stomped on the ground hard. In response, the ground in front of him warped, shooting out like a spear to attack the Lizardmen.

Although he was unable to deal any effective damage to the thick-skinned dragons, he managed to break their formation. Jumping at that opportunity, he swung his sword to fatally injure them.

“K-Kraaah!” After reducing their numbers, their leader signaled to retreat, and the Lizardmen group all started to retreat at once. Seeing their figures retreating, Rio let out a small sigh. He slipped the long sword in his right hand back into the sheath on his waist, then made eye contact with Latifa.

“Sorry. The Lizardmen just now might be conspiring with for the Winged Lizard before. Their goal is to separate us. ”

“... O-Onii-chan!” Latifa lost all power in her body, roaring

“onii-chan” loudly as she turned her eyes away.
