The Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles

The Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles
Chapter 6's

Food from all corners of the Euphelia continent is cultivated in folk spirit villages. The spirits of the people themselves were once spread across the continent, before being persecuted by humans and forced to migrate to the villages from time to time

into time. As part of the migration, they brought food from different regions, resulting in the current agricultural conditions. Folk spirits have advanced agricultural technology, and Dryas, the spirit of a giant tree, watches over a large forest; its fertile land is a paradise for plant life. This allows the plant to grow under the best conditions. The village is truly a food paradise.

Rio made the most of that blessing ever since he started living in the village, using his knowledge from his previous life to painstakingly create a different meal from each origin – be it Japanese, Western, or Chinese. Furthermore, Orphia – who is very enthusiastic about cooking compared to other girls – is learning how to make traditional food gourmet spirit. He's very interested

with the kind of food that Rio could make, and they spent time together to teach each other their recipes.

So, here, at the house where Rio and the others lived, dishes from Earth and the spirits would line up at the table every day. Occasionally, they invited Ursula and the other chief elders, and they all slapped their lips while cooking. Eventually, rumors began to spread, and Orphia finally

treating the older council with the recipe he had learned from Rio. The feedback was very profitable, and as a result, everyone wanted Rio to hold a cooking class. Rio accepted their request, and it was decided that he would teach his recipe to the village women.

Most of the participants were younger women; although their species had a life span

the longer ones (they develop at the same rate as humans until their mid-teens, from which their aging slows down dramatically), their appearance does not quite match their actual age. There were over fifty of them present.

At that moment, a mouth-watering scent poured from the food preparation room in the town hall, which was filled with cheerful voices of the women wearing apron. Despite already agreeing with all of this, there were far more participants than he expected, which made Rio feel

awkward as the only man in the room. Even so, he would not back down after

accepted, so she put on the mask of her responsibility and devoted herself to playing the role of teacher.

After handing out the recipe sheet to each group, he went through each step of preparation while

provide tips on how to handle the ingredients and how strong the fire should be. Next, each group went and prepared their own meals, following Rio's recipe and steps, which they had just observed. Rio and Orphia – his assistant – parted ways and walked around the table of each group, watching their students as they worked. As soon as the cooking started, the groups started asking questions and obstacles, so he would also help with that. He saw one such group now.

“Sara, Alma, isn't this tomato sauce a little too sour?” Latifa asked, licking the teaspoon of sauce she had taken.

“Mm, that's true ..”

“The sour taste is a little strong.” Sara and Alma's expressions were clouded as they tasted the sauce.

“Bleh, which Rio made is also much smoother.” Vera also licked her sauce, before shaking her ears and tail. That was when Rio appeared.

“Let it boil on low fire for a while, and hold it above water. After boiling, add water to adjust the thickness. Make sure to taste it often. If it does not improve, add

broth and simmer longer,” his advice after tasting the sauce with a teaspoon.

“I understand ... so it's not mature enough.”

“Tomatoes lose their sour taste when heated, after all. It soothes the taste and brings out the sweetness. Also, if you add too much broth, you will lose the flavor of the ketchup, so be sure to add just a little,” Rio added in his explanation, making Alma nod in understanding. Latifa and Vera chatted noisily beside them.

“Ehehe, we can eat delicious rice croquettes and cabbage rolls with this.”

“Anya group makes omelets of cheese and chicken boiled with tomato sauce. Let's exchange some with them

later.”

“Ooh, I can't wait!” The cooking class continued well after that. After some time, complete dishes began to appear among the group.

“Alright, I'm sure everyone is hungry now, so let's move the finished plate to

eat and serve before they cool. The only thing left after eating is cleaning, so please take your time. ”

At Rio's order, the groups with the finished dishes started to move into the dining room. The groups with more experienced women had finished first, leaving groups consisting mostly of young girls. However, they do not seem to be too behind. Rio walked around the table while cleaning what he could, taking out all the leftover materials.

transparent, he added tomato sauce and mixed it. Then, he added the rest of the butter rice and fried it until it was mushy and not sticky. Chicken rice is finished in no time.

Next, with some quick and bold moves – yet precise -, he moved the pan in his hand and made an omelet. He placed the finished omelet on top of the chicken rice

and cut the middle, adding a little ketchup on top for the finishing touch. With that, the thick and smooth omurice was finished.

(Tln: omurice = omelet rice. So remember Ayumi from Charlotte, hiks)

With a few ingredients left, he decided to make one omurice, and finished it just as the last two groups wrapped their dishes. One of the groups was Latifa, who came running.

“Onii-chan, let's eat together!”

“Sara and the others ate with that other group, right? I'll be fine, so you have to go

eating with them,” Rio replied with a troubled expression towards Latifa free smile. The other group was made up of girls who had never interacted with Rio before, so he thought it was best to avoid involvement as outsiders.

“Eeeh ... What will you do, Onii-chan?”

“I'll eat myself.”

“No, I want to be with Onii-chan!” Latifa is making a move. A werecat girl whose name was unknown called out to him from the side. “Betul. Come eat together, Rio ... Please?”

“Umm, are you sure?”

“Of course! You've been living in this village for almost half a year now, but you've only been hanging out with Miss Sara's group. I always wanted to talk to you. Right, everyone?” werecat said, looking back. A group of tibatiba girls formed behind him, nodding enthusiastically. Everyone seemed to be in their mid-teens; perhaps older than Rio.

“I understand. I'll be happy then.” Unable to turn down their offer, Rio accepted the offer to dine with Sara's group and the older girls. They all moved into the dining room,

line up their full dishes along the free table.

All dishes pass in terms of appearance. An appetizing fragrance floated in the air, but the gazes of the girls did not look at their own plates, but rather focused on the omurice Rio made.

“Hei, Rio. What dish is this? We did not practice making this,” the werecat girl asked curiously.

“It's omurice!” Latifa replied on behalf of Rio. Omurice was his favorite.

“Huh, is this one of the recipes from Strahl too?”

“Ya, although the name varies by region,” lied Rio, glancing at Latifa.

“In Latifa's case, she called it omurice. I made an extra, so please help yourself.” Latifa made a faint speech sound before giving an awkward smile.

Rio sighed smallly and took his eyes off her.

“Yay. Thank you, Rio!” The werecat girl suddenly stuck to Rio's arm. Everyone present looked on with widened eyes.

“A-Anya, why don't we start eating now? It's going to be cold,” Sara said with a little panic.

The girl was apparently named Anya.

“Yup, don't want all this cooking to go to waste. Let's eat.” Anya happily let go of the arm

Rio with a nod. He took the lead and started handing out food plates. Rio smiled tensely. He had the impression that he was the kind of person who was strange and unhindered.

“I'll serve your part, Onii-chan!” Latifa grabbed Rio's part before she could make a move.

“Having a loyal and cute little sister must be great, Rio.” Anya said with a smile.

Splice.
