“Ya, right. She is too sweet for me,” Rio agreed unabashedly.

“Ehehe, the only boy who calls me funny is you, Onii-chan.” Latifa responded timidly. Eventually, the food was shared between everyone, and they finally started eating.

“Fuwawah! This Omurice is so delicious!” Vera bit Rio's omurice and expressed a somewhat exaggerated opinion.

“Nah, right? I told you Onii-chan's cooking is delicious!” Latifa.

“Yes! Not surprising, considering it's from Rio! ”

“Thank you, both of you.” Rio thanked Latifa and Vera for praising her cooking skills.

“Yup, yup. Rio really is exactly as Miss Sara and the others explained,” Anya said, nodding solemnly.

“In what way is that, may I ask? I'm a little curious,” asked Rio.

“Oh, well .. You're polite, you're kind, you're cool, you're strong, you're very smart, you instantly learn our language, and you're very proficient in spirit arts. That's all a compliment, really!” Anya answered clearly.

“A-Her!” Sara, Orphia, and Alma all blushed in embarrassment; sara, in particular, was speechless. Having an open image of Rio like this definitely made them feel ashamed.

“Ahaha. I'm glad to hear it, even though it's just flattery.” Rio interpreted Anya's words as flattery and brushed her off.

“Not Rio, this is not just flattery.” Anya looked just a little irritated. The lively atmosphere continued after that, allowing Rio to deepen his relationship with the girls through empty chatter.

Chapter 7: The Uninvited Guest

On one particular day, after Rio's life in the village had passed six months. In the western part of the Wilderness, in a certain mountain range, a griffin was flapping its wings, hovering far in the air. The Griffin is also called the sky lion, famous for being the ruler of the sky, second only to the dragon race. They are highly intelligent creatures, but have a wild temperament, and mostly live in mountainous areas. Because their upper bodies are birds of prey, one of their distinctive features is high-pitched screeches. However, to some citizens, they were beasts that should be

kept as a riding animal.

“T-Master. Reiss. Is it really good to be far away here? ” Two humans sitting behind griffin. One of them – a boy with an appearance like an adventurer – filed

question the black-robed man named Reiss, sitting behind him with control in his hands.

“Yes, it's okay. But ... If this is enough to scare you, then maybe you are not suitable enough to become a member of our mercenary forces, hmm?” Reiss let out a long sigh, questioning

which he answered several times.

“T-No, that's not what I said! I-I just want to know where we're going. Several days have passed since we entered the Wilderness.” The boy hurried to explain himself, making him seem even more frightened. Nature filled the scene before their eyes. There was not even a trace of human presence – was just a dangerous ferocious beast roaming in the area, so it was natural for a novice adventurer like him to be afraid.

Until recently, the boy had been part of a small adventurer party fighting weak monsters for pocket money. As a new rookie on the scene, every day is a hurdle to cross— until one day, he is approached by Reiss, who invites him into a notorious mercenary force named after the griffin: a: The Heavenly Lions's. He thought of Reiss as a somewhat shady figure at first, but once The Heavenly Lions were brought up and he was told that they were stalking young adventurers to train in person, he decided to at least listen to him.

Therefore, after being shown the emblem of The Heavenly Lions – and even a griffin itself – the boy's desire to become a hero was easily interfered with, he said, and he found himself happily agreeing to join the squad before he realized it. Once he did, he was immediately given a mission to complete as an initiation task. The events continued to unfold right before her bewildered eyes, until she finally found herself casually riding on Griffin's back, half regretting everything.

“Fufu, we have arrived at the destination. Come down here,” said Reiss,

goal and landing on the ground, the boy had made up his mind.

“Come away,” said Reiss, suddenly walking away.

“Iya!” the boy nodded enthusiastically, running after him. After walking towards the peak for about an hour, they found a large cave right before the peak.

“Oh, are we going there?”

“Betul. The initial investigation is complete. This cave master is supposed to go hunting for food at this point, and will not return for a while, so there is no need to worry,” Reiss explained in a calm tone, making the boy sigh in relief.

“You can wait here. I'll be back in a few minutes.” With that, Reiss said nothing more and entered the silent cave. Then, true to his words, he returned from the cave a few minutes later. Thankfully. Now we can go back, the boy thought. But when relief flooded her, she saw the thing Reiss had brought with both hands and stiffened in shock.

“T-Master. Reiss, what is it? ”

“Can't you know? It's an egg, ” replied Reiss indifferently.

“A-what kind of egg?”

“Oh, are you curious?”

“Ah, no..” Afraid to find out the truth, the boy reflexively shook his head. Although it was only an egg, it had a diameter of over 30 centimeters. Its shell was extremely thick, it seemed like it would require a blunt weapon to crack it, and it also weighed around 10 kilograms.

“Sini. I'm handing this to you. ”

“Hweh?” The boy made a dumbfounded voice.

“You must hold this egg – anyway, I must direct the griffin. I want to put it in a bag, but we can't afford to throw food away for the ride home, now can we? ”

“... B-True.” Unable to refute Reiss' separate explanation, the boy nodded awkwardly.

“Good. Now, shall we return to Griffin? ” Reiss walks away, hot boy on his heels. He didn't want to stay here anymore, and he felt completely numb when they returned to

the griffin's waiting.

“A-Will parents not be angry? What if he tries to take the egg? I mean ..” The boy asked with a twitching smile before they boarded, beset by his worries.

“Of course will be fine.” Reiss inserted a sinister smile on his face as he replied. “How far do you think it is from here to Strahl?”

“True ... Of course ..”
