Episode 42 [Ex-Mother-in-Law Acts]

Her grandson-in-law had just died and she was indirectly responsible for it, Fiona showed no guilt, she said, but she instead came and acted as if she had become a mother figure who had been so successful in educating her child. Fiona immediately entered after feeling enough to talk to Ariana.

Ariana could only sigh. Ariana never wanted Emily to be away from her, but Fiona had rights over Emily, so she couldn't prevent it. "Eric, you're getting married soon, so what are you doing here?" ask Fiona.

"I'm delivering a wedding invitation. Then, excuse me." Eric not only said goodbye to Fiona, but also to Ariana and Emily, only after leaving. Eric is too lazy to face Fiona who is so arrogant and does not know gratitude, just like Kevin.

"Then, who are you?" fiona's gaze now leads to Mark standing next to Emily.

"I'm Mark, Ariana's best friend. Nice to meet you, Miss Fiona." Mark greeted warmly.

"Friends Ariana? So, you're taking care of Emily?" Fiona asked again.

"Yes, I'm the one who's looking after Emily." Mark is still trying to be polite even though he feels a bit uncomfortable with Fiona's gaze and tone.

Fiona doesn't say anything else after and she just focuses on Emily. Fiona needs strength to deal with all of this and Emily can be her source of power, so she needs Emily by her side. Now it might be just a little while, but he won't give up on making Emily stay with him.

"How are you? Are you all right?" fiona's tone changed completely when she spoke to Emily.

"Yes, I'm good" replied Emily.

"I don't want to. Tomorrow, I'll go with Uncle Mark." However, for the first time, Emily refuses Fiona's invitation. Instead of getting a new toy, Emily is more interested in going to the zoo with Mark. Yes, Emily was promised to be invited to the zoo to fill her time off.

"We can go there too." Fiona's still trying to seduce Emily.

"don't want. I want to be with Uncle Mark." Emily even grabs Mark's hand now, then invites him to eat again. This day, Emily had heard stories about many things from Mark. All of those stories make her stickier with Mark, because Emily is curious about everything Mark tells her and wants to see it all.

Fiona looks upset, but tries to hold her in front of Emily. However, Fiona could not help but feel upset when she turned to Ariana. "What did you do to him? After living with you, Emily became even more interested in strangers than her own family" Fiona said.

"Emily just wants to be with someone who makes her feel comfortable and gives answers to all her curiosity." Ariana gave a calm reply as she was relieved to hear Emily refusing to go with Fiona. In the past, Ariana respected the woman, but after seeing Fiona's nature more deeply, that respect has slowly vanished.

"So, you don't think I can make him feel comfortable? I'm her grandmother, so how could Emily be uncomfortable with me?" fiona said in a very upset tone. Fortunately Emily was focusing on eating with Mark, so did not see the outpouring of annoyance of her grandmother.

"It's safe or not just Emily who knows, not me. For now, you better focus on Kevin alone. Kevin needs you very much."

"Did I sound like I was asking for your opinion?" reply Fiona so tightly.

"I'm sorry." Ariana is so lazy to argue now.

Fiona already wants to reply to Ariana, but she has already received a call from someone who is currently keeping Kevin in the hospital. Fiona immediately answered the phone in front of Ariana. "What's wrong?" ask Fiona.

"Mr Kevin, he ..." Fiona immediately left Ariana's house after hearing the answer from the woman who was her interlocutor on the phone. Fiona leaves in a hurry, making Ariana seem worried about what happened to Kevin.
