CHAPTER 2 ~ Trial Lead ~

Shanty stared at the models who were breezy showing jewelry that was only produced with a limited amount of it. His eyes narrowed to pay attention to every detail of those shiny items. After marrying Mr. Robert Chandra, Shanty Rahayu no longer knows simple words. Everything must be all luxurious from dresses, bags, shoes to jewelry. "That's not Monica's shoe, that's Livia's shoe. Papa chose Monica but Monica didn't want to. Brother Monica chose another model, so Papa chose it for Livia. Now Monica wants Livia's shoes, instead" said Livia.

"Yes, if your brother wants that one, what's the trouble?" shanty asked, still glancing at the beautiful necklace around his neck through the mirror reflection.

"But Livia doesn't like Monica's shoes" Livia replied, looking down.

"You're used to getting what you want from your father. Now what's wrong with you giving up on your brother who got not as much as you!" snapped Shanty.

"But Livia doesn't like …"

"ENOUGH! YOU TAKE THOSE SHOES OR I THROW THEM AWAY!" snapped Shanty.

Livia lowered her head and picked up Monica's school shoes, which she threw in place of her shoes. As a fair father, Mr. Robert treated the three children fairly. When Tn. Robert wants to buy something then all will be lost. This time Mr. Robert invited his three children to buy shoes.

"This shoe is beautiful Monica, it's suitable for a good girl's school shoes" Robert said, offering a sample of shoes.

"If Livia wants these shoes?" ask Robert who seems to like the model of the shoe.

Monica often mocks Livia's shoes of choice. But Livia was not indifferent to the ridicule of her Brother who was also her Classmate at the school. Because they attended the same Junior High, Livia was in 7th grade and Monica was in 9th grade.

Like anything that led her sister Livia did not care, until the teenage girl had to take off her shoes for sports lessons using a mattress. Livia didn't find her shoes when the lesson was over. While at the end there Monica and her group giggled to see a confused Livia looking.

"It's been brought by the cat because of the smell of salted fish!" shouted a friend of Monica.

Monica and her friends immediately laughed out loud. Livia could only stare with a long look. Livia was quite tired with her sports lessons today and now has to find her shoes everywhere.

Livia was about to step closer to the nosy group begging to tell them where they were hiding her shoes.

"LIVIAN! HERE'S YOUR SHOE!" a voice from behind.

Livia turned her head, as did the four nosy girls. Ezra, the handsome OSIS chairman who became the school idol came with Livia's shoes. The teenage boy coded Livia to sit on the bench. Livia is confused, the handsome man finally pulls Livia's hand and pushes her slowly until the girl sits down.

Ezra, get on your knees and put Livia's shoes on. The four girls were flabbergasted staring at the incident. One of them even hit his own friend's shoulder in annoyance.

"Your shoes are good" said Ezra.

Short speech but makes Monica careless. The girl hit the fan in her hand to shatter and threw it away. Monica walked out of the hall with a resentful heart and was followed by her three friends. At home, Monica claims that Livia's shoes are hers.

And Livia has to accept all the wishes of the people in that house. Plus his mother who is not so dear to him anymore. Livia always succumbs in every way, Livia is blamed for everything and Livia must be willing to accept her punishment.

Change has been happening since that day, Mr. Robert came home early with a disheveled face. Hope to be welcomed by his beautiful wife to cheer him up. But Shanty was not home. The woman will not return with her groceries before nightfall.

The eyes of Mr. Robert circled around the luxurious room. The man felt that everything would be taken away from him immediately. But Mr. Robert didn't want to lose his family.

To comfort his family from the bad news of his company being threatened with bankruptcy. The father took his family on vacation at his villa outside the city. Momentary Mr. Robert forgot his heart. In that lakefront villa, Mr. Robert managed to bring joy again in his household.

During the journey of Mr. Robert recalled the condition of his company. Trying to persuade his wife to sell her jewelry to help pay off the company's debt. Shanty who doesn't like hobbies and stuff on the nosy. Raging until it comes back into disarray.

Mr. Robert did not concentrate on driving until he finally had an accident. The harsh reality must be dealt with again. The accident resulted in Livia's face being damaged and looking creepy.

"We have to do a facial reconstruction on Livia. I don't want my daughter to be handicapped forever" Robert said with a worried face.

But Shanti Rahayu did not allow her husband to do facial reconstruction of Livia because it would cost a very large while their company was in a difficult situation.

"I don't care, I'll do anything to restore my daughter's face. If I need to sell this house for Livia's operating expenses!" snapped Robert.

Shanty does not want that to happen, Shanty does not want to lose the house that became his pride as a high-class woman. Shanty's voice softened, trying to persuade her husband to calm down.

Livia is forced to live life with her broken face. The girl's face changed 180° from a beautiful girl to a ugly girl. At school Livia is forced to wear a mask to cover her disfigured face.

That single accident made Mr. Robert toppled over and fell in a deep abyss. Undeniably bad luck, the glass window beside Livia broke and smashed into Livia's face. Despite having tried to explain the accident that had happened to him, only a few of Livia's friends could behave naturally, the rest of them chose to avoid.

Livia wanted to turn her face away but the grip of Ezra's hand on her chin was so tight that the girl seemed to put her face in. Livia's tears flowed slowly, crying over Ezra who was still staring at her face. Livia feels that the man will also be disgusted and will avoid like other friends.

Looking at the tears flowing down Livia's cheeks, Ezra grabbed onto Livia's nape and buried the girl's face in her chest. Livia was crying. What Ezra did aroused Monica's anger. Seeing the man who had mastered his heart was still willing to approach Livia.

Unbeknownst to them, Monica meets Ezra's parents and tells of Ezra and Livia's closeness. Ezra's parents are shocked when they see a photo of Livia shown by Monica. The girl hopes that Ezra's parents will ban her from connecting with Livia.

But what happened was not expected, Ezra was transferred to another school making Monica even more upset with Livia. And the girl becomes the target of Monica's anger. The girl picked up the printed book Livia was reading and smacked it into the girl's head and body.

"Basar don't know yourself, look at your actions, because of you he was transferred to another school," said Monica still continues to smash the book into Livia's body.

Monica's anger is not only that, she did not have time to know Ezra's mobile number that can be contacted. Even Ezra's parents were not willing to tell him. Which the girl knew Ezra was transferred overseas.

Livia cried and screamed and received a punch directed against her body. Suddenly Radian came and pushed Monica's body to the side. Monica was surprised and so was Livia.

The man was upset because Monica's mouth kept cursing. Radian's room next to Livia's made Radian hear whatever was going on next to his room. The meaning and sound of falling things made the man who liked the silence feel disturbed.

Monica left with a stomp of her feet, only this time her older brother was snapping at her. Leaving behind Livia who cleaned her room while intermittently wiping away her tears. Every now and then the girl turned her head out of the room, thanking her older brother for stopping Monica's actions.

Livia's suffering did not get there, the condition of her father's company did not improve. Shanty will no longer sacrifice his jewelry and Mr. Robert can't force her anymore. Mr. Robert can no longer afford to pay the company's employees until there is a riot at the workers' demonstration, Mr. Robert Chandra was killed.

Livia screamed hysterically when she heard that her father had fallen from the third floor because of the push of a demo employee who rushed in. Shanty of course panicked considering the company is really threatened with bankruptcy and employee salary debt to be paid.
