Turning My Brother's Destiny into My Husband
CHAPTER 3 ~ Last Day Livia ~

Livia knows her father's company's condition is not improving. Livia overhears the conversation between her father and Shanty.

"Quite Pa, I don't want to sell my jewelry anymore, why I bought all this time if I finally have to sell it" said Shanty.

"It's only for a while, later if you can buy it kagi. In order to save money, all employees pay cuts are made. Some can't even be paid. While you're still looking frivolous, it makes the employees not believe that I can't afford to pay my employees. Stop your habit of buying branded products at fantastic prices, at least for now," Robert pleaded with a gloomy face.

Livia shed tears at the sound of her father. Never in his whole life has it sounded so pleading. Shanty's voice sounded unconcerned. Livia wants to give up her jewelry that her birth mother once bought. Only a pair of earrings had been attached to her since the girl was a child.

The girl returned to her room with tears still flowing. Sobbing to herself in her room, Livia tries to sleep. In the middle of the night his father went into the room and clasped his daughter's hands.

"Pa?" Livia's voice wakes up.

"Sorry son, Papa woke you up?" robert and Livia asked.

"Actually Livia had a hard time sleeping" he replied.

"Why?"

"Always remember the difficulties of Papa's company," Livia replied.

"That's none of your business, son, it's Papa's business. Let Papa think, you are still a child is not your responsibility. Later if you are older, you can take all the responsibilities of Papa .. if Papa is not there," explained Robert.

Silent, both are silent.

"Pa, Livia has earrings that can be sold not Pa to help Papa's company," said Livia.

"Can" said Robert with a smile. "But not enough to finance the needs of Papa's company. So keep it, son, because that's all you got. You and Mama are simple people who never have the desire to collect jewelry, but it's Mama's purchase is not it? Keep it well as memories from Mama," said Robert then bowed in tears.

Livia wakes up and sits down next to her father.

"Why why?"

"Livia, Papa, I'm sorry, son. Because you cannot give happiness to you. Papa knew from the beginning of marrying Shanty, you gave up a lot for them. Papa apologizes son, Papa failed to educate them and forgive Papa because our condition became like this" said Robert while stroking the face of Livia who had been damaged.

The man cried rubbing the scars on Livia's face. The greatest regret of Mr. Robert was unable to afford his daughter's plastic surgery. The girl cried so hard to see her father who was so sad. The father and son cried together.

Livia gets a call from the picket teacher. The girl was asked to go to the hospital because her father was being critical.

"Papa why? Papa why?" ask Livia along the way to the hospital.

The homeroom teacher could only cry while hugging Livia. The girl was crying. At the hospital, Livia hugged her dead father.

"NO! NOPE! NO!" Don't cover Papa's face! Don't cover Papa's face!" livia screamed while shaking her head.

Livia's hand pulled out a white cloth that she wanted to cover in her father's face. His wailing cries broke the silence in the emergency room. Livia can't accept the truth. The doctor finally shook his head at the nurse who wanted to cover Mr.'s face. Robert.

Livia cried so much, the fact that she had to see her parents' faces covered in white for the second time she could not accept. But now Livia has grown up. The thirteen-year-old girl had understood enough that banning the nun from covering her father's face would never bring her father to life again.

Livia returns to the funeral procession of her loved ones. But this time the girl just stood glued with tears that always melted even though as often as she rubbed it. There were no more screams to hinder the task of the burial grounds.

Papa must be happy with Mama, right? Livia sincerely Pa, as long as Papa is happy there with Mama, inner Livia with tears that do not stop flowing.

Livia thinks that with the departure of her father it makes her father sufferers in the world have also stopped there. Her father no longer needed to cry while hugging her. No need to be sad to see his broken face. No need to think about the company anymore. No need to feel sad to face his family who does not care about him.

Unknowingly Livia nodded, with tears still rushing. The girl finally let her father go. Leaving Livia who had to live a foursome life with her stepfamily even though in her daily life feel alone.

"Bi Iyah should be fired."

"What's? Why Mom?" ask Livia who doesn't want to part with the only person who still cares about her.

"You don't see, your own father can't pay his employees' salaries. Then how can we handle it?" Shanty asked back.

"But Bi Iyah has been with us for a long time" said Livia, bowed.

"If he wants to work without eating without being paid, it's okay. Those employees who are protesting might let us breathe for a while. After that they will return to collect the salary they have not received. Not to mention the debt that must be paid to a third party. Where did we get all that? We have to save from now on" Shanty said in front of his three children.

The words that Papa had spoken, now emerged from Mommy's mouth. But Papa was frugal, what about Mommy? Can it be scrimping? Inner Livia wondered.

Livia turned her head towards Bi Iyah who was just bowed down. For him it does not matter if not paid as long as it can remain on the daughter side of his employer who has been cared for since infancy. But the aunt knew, Shanty for various reasons no longer wanted to be in that house.

Livia cried as she stared at the passing of her little Aunt who was nurturing and caring for her. Livia's affection for Bi Iyah was the same as her affection for both parents. Bi Iyah felt like that, Livia was like her own daughter.

The next day Chandra's family had a guest. Mr. Rizaldi, who is Mr.'s lawyer. Robert.

"I'm sorry I just found out about Mr. Robert's accident in my homeland because I just returned from abroad" Rizaldi said.

Shanty nodded, with question marks all over his head. Mr's Lawyer. Robert was finally telling his arrival intent that Mr. Robert is a customer of life insurance premiums with the highest premium amount.

Mr. Rizaldi issued a map with an insurance company logo containing insurance policy sheets. Mr. Rizaldi submitted a contract of cooperation agreement of the Insurance Provider Company with Mr. Robert Chandra as Policyholder.

Shanty Rahayu accepted and immediately read it. The look on his face slightly changed when he saw the nominal benefits he could receive from the insurance claim. Shanty immediately agreed to take care of the huge insurance claim. With that nominal Shanty can fulfill the company's obligations to the creditor until the condition of the company can be saved.

Once the company stabilizes, Mr. Rizaldi came back to bring a will from Mr. Robert Chandra.

"My husband made a will?" shanty asked.

Mr. Rizaldi nodded, an assistant who witnessed the making of the will issued a sealed envelope. Shanty and all of his children were sitting face to face with the lawyers.

Shanty's eyes did not blink as he stared at the envelope made with the deed in front of the notary. A deed that gives clarity on the ownership of the property that her husband left behind when her husband died.

Unlike Livia who looked at the envelope with a beautiful look. With her teary eyes the girl imagined her father thinking about and writing the will. Livia bowed while wiping away her tears. If he can be replaced he doesn't want the will to show up, he wants his father to come back to him.

The will was also read. Shanty and all the children heard Mr. Rizaldi read Mr.'s will. Robert. But Shanty Rahayu was shocked when she found her husband giving up the entire inheritance on behalf of Livia Chandra, her daughter, when the teenage girl was growing up.

While Shanty and his children only get the same monthly money as before Mr. Robert died. The blood inside Shanty's body was boiling when he heard the reading of the will but Shanty tried to calm down. Unlike the surprised Livia and the agape Monica.

"LACK OF TEACHING! THE INSOLENT! AFTER A LONG TIME ACCOMPANYING YOU ONLY MONTHLY MONEY THAT I GET? WHO DO YOU THINK SAVED YOUR COMPANY? THE INSOLENT! DAMN BRASH!" shanty shouted as he rummaged through the contents of his room.

If something goes wrong, Shanty will punish him. Like today, Livia was late in preparing breakfast for them. The girl did not get any breakfast. But lucky when he stepped foot into school with a slow, Radian threw a plastic bag containing a sandwich made by Livia himself.

"Sister!" shout Livia.

The man who never smiled stopped his steps.

"Let's eat together" said Livia cheerfully.

The girl knew exactly, Radian only ate a piece and the rest was in the plastic bag.

"I don't like it!" he said and continued his steps.

Radian who never wanted to enjoy luxury in the house always chose to take public transportation to his school and now Livia was so. His father's car is completely controlled by Shanty, while Shanty's car and driver support Monica's activities.

"No way, I don't like it. Usually, Radian always spends a sandwich made by Bu Iyah," said Livia while aligning their steps despite a bit of difficulty because Radian with his long legs makes one step Radian into two steps for Livia.

"Are these Bi Iyah's?" ask Radian without looking.

"Aaah, big brother is talking a lot now. I knew Sister's voice" said Livia, raising her face to look at the handsome young man.

Livia rarely heard him speak. Lately quite often but only to stop the commotion caused by the cry of Monica who mistreated Livia. And Livia of course did not pay attention to the voice of her brother because he was crying.

"Thank you, sister, because Radian often helped me," said Livia sincerely.

"I don't help you, I just don't like the commotion" said the quiet man.

Hearing Radian speak again, Livia laughed. After a few years, the girl could no longer laugh. Ever since his face was broken plus his father who died suddenly. For Livia even though Radian had no intention of helping her but to stop Monica's actions, it became a help for her.

The girl took out the sandwich from the plastic bag and thrust it into Radian's mouth.

"No way!" said ketus.

"Come one sandwich for Brother, one sandwich for me. Big Brother has to eat more than me because Big Brother is older and taller. Come on, sister" said Livia.

"DO NOT WANT!" he said loudly and immediately took the bus to his school.

Livia's move comes to a halt as Livia has to choose a different bus. The girl waved her hand that was clutching the sandwich with a smile. Radian who was not concerned finally turned his head and looked at the face covered by the mask. Just looking into Livia's narrowed eyes meant the girl was smiling.

Radian insisted not take the sandwich offered by Livia because she was still equipped with pocket money. Unlike Livia which is only equipped with public transportation costs. Radian turned back towards Livia who was still waving. I don't know why the man wanted to go back to see Livia still waving sandwiches at him.

After school Livia is picked up by Shanty and Monica. They took Livia on vacation to the villa.

"But I didn't bring Mommy's change of clothes?" ask Livia.

Shanty was a little surprised by Livia's question. But soon the woman found an excuse.

"It's an impromptu event to surprise Radian. He was declared a graduate at a university abroad" Shanty said.

"really? Wow Radian is great," said Livia amazed.

Livia's admiration and affection for her brother that one increasingly became. To him despite looking indifferent and gluttonous but Radian was the only family that never hurt him.

Along the way Livia was happy because she would join in celebrating the success of her brother. The car engine suddenly died. Shanty immediately pointed the car to the edge.

"Why Mommy?" ask Livia.

"Suddenly the engine died. Let's go down first, ask for help from passers-by" Shanty said.

The three of them went down, in the mountains and deserted. Monica and Shanty look out into the streets whether there is a car or anyone passing by. But the road with forests, cliffs and ravines was very quiet to pass. Especially not on vacation.

The position of the car that stopped at the edge of the gorge was actually very worrisome. Livia also looked to the right and to the left but still saw no one. Tired of looking at the road Livia turned to look behind her.

Suddenly, Shanty and Monica push the girl into a cliff. With a satisfied smile the two demon-hearted women left the location that became silent witnesses of their crimes. 

Every time Shanty sees Livia, his hatred increases. Remembering her husband's estate that so expected to fall into the hands of her stepson without leaving anything for her and her children.

But if Shanty is a little self-conscious, she should be grateful for what her husband has given her all along. The luxurious life that was only a hallucination for him can be achieved thanks to Mr. Robert married her for her daughter. But in reality, the affection that had seemed sincere turned out to be full of falsehoods.

It is natural that Mr. Robert was more worried about his daughter. Because Mr. Robert knows. If the entire inheritance falls into the hands of her daughter, Livia will not abandon the three men. Instead if all the inheritance was left to his wife, then the woman easily drove Livia away.

But expecting Shanty to be a self-knowing and grateful person is a waste. His heart was filled with vengeance until Shanti Rahayu planned the murder of her own stepdaughter.

The next day Monica makes a furore that makes Radian come out of her room in annoyance.

"Look, Livia killed herself" the girl said, showing Livia's diary.

It was written his sadness and regret for the accident that happened to him until it finally damaged his face. There is also written the sadness of Livia because of the loss of her father until the girl felt unable to continue her life.

Radian directly open the previous sheets. Looking the same writing, Livia actually wrote her regrets. The words 'feel like I can no longer carry on with my life' became a weapon for Monica to convince her sister.

The girl who was always nosy and curious about the contents of Livia's diary one day showed the diary to her mother. Originally just to laugh at the poor girl but now used as an alibi over Livia who has not come home since leaving school yesterday morning.

Radian did not expect that day, the day they walked together was the last day for him to look at his half-brother. Because without realizing it, his birth mother had planned the murder of the poor girl 

Although not so close, despite feeling not love Livia. But the final moments with the girl are reflected in his memory. His laughing voice, narrowing his eyes as he smiled, and the wave of his hand. Can't disappear from Radian's mind until his tears don't feel.

Shanty announces the loss of his daughter by showing evidence of Livia's regret and sadness, the despair of not being able to live again contained in Livia's diary. Coupled with the news of the discovery of a body several kilometers from the location at the thrust of Livia.

Shanty Rahayu is free to rule the wealth of her late husband.

But unbeknownst to Shanty, Livia who fell into a ravine with a river below it. Rescued by a plastic surgeon who is commemorating the day of her daughter's death in the valley with the river right where Livia fell.
