The sun began to show itself in the eastern horizon, the morning was already greeting. Darto, Harti and two friends and two Si Mbahnya are walking in tandem to Langgar, where Mbah Kung's motto is parked. They carry a large bag in their hands, a bag that contains most of the clothes, supplies and objects they use every day.
"Where am I sitting, Mat?" Tanya Si Mbah was short, after seeing Darto, Bidin and Surip who were already sitting in the back, and the front passenger seat was already in use Harti.
"You just sit on top of Min, let's keep your gas jerry cans, ha ha ha ha!" kakung replied briefly while continuing to laugh.
"I'm the one driving here Mat, you I'm in the trunk!" ketus Si Mbah then grabbed the steering chair.
"It's a coincidence you want to drive, Min. Let me sit with Harti," said Kakung then shifted and slightly jumped so that the clothes he was wearing did not get stuck in the gear panel.
"Well that's dong, I'm the best to sit, he he he he," said Si Mbah then turned on the engine and stepped on the gas pedal slowly.
The trip was done, Darto was amazed to see Si Mbah Turahmin can drive a car, because it was the first time Darto saw it.
"Where's the driving exercise?" tanya Darto slightly raised his head to parallel with the head of Si Mbah who was driving.
"In the pesantren first, Dar. Wear a car owned by Kakung's parents," replied Si Mbah briefly, then returned to focus on seeing the trajectory filled with rocks in front of him.
Hearing that answer, Darto simply nodded, and asked Kakung to teach him how to drive. A look of joy on Darto's face when Kakung responded to his request, he really can't wait to get to the boarding school and practice driving.
The journey went well, they had arrived at the nearest city from the village kemoceng. The Mbah and the kakung had looked around the small town for gasoline sellers, unfortunately they only found one retail gasoline seller, and even then only managed to get six bottles of gasoline litre. The seller said he only went once a week to the next town to buy gasoline there. Naturally, motor vehicle owners can still be counted with the finger of one hand.
"It's not enough Mat, to melewatin forest?" si Mbah asked while watching Speedo meter, the petrol pointing needle showed only half a tank more than a quarter.
"If it's past the forest there will be a pom later Min, but not quite yes if only this," replied Kakung while tilting his body to be able to see the speedo.
"Jerigen empty Mat?" ask the Mbah back.
"Snack, Min, then I finished stuffing in the middle of the forest. Just yuk bismillah, I think enough," forced Kakung.
Hearing Kakung's invitation, Sewahan rushed the vehicle towards the road that leads to the wilderness. The only road available to lead to the next town.
One hour, two hours, three hours passed, time had already shown the dzuhur time on the watch that Kakung wore. They decided to rest and roll out pandan mats on the field shoulder of the road.
After they finished their ablution at the saplings near the road, they congregated on the shoulder of the road, then decided to rest filling their stomachs in the same place, it didn't feel like they had been resting for an hour and a half. Due to fear too late in the afternoon Kakung rushed to invite everyone to return to his Car.
This time Kakung was driving, While Si Mbah was sitting with Harti in front. Time just passed, it had been almost two hours they darted carefully on the mossy rock road. Kakung really extra carefully sorting the alley way to the wheels but, they have entered in the depths of the forest very far away.
"Kok not to the extent in the city, Mat," asked Si Mbah curious.
"It took almost eight hours, Min. Just passed by here last time," Kakung explained.
"Can't be on cepetin again Mat?" ask the Mbah back.
"No, Mat. The path is already rich your face, already broken, mossy again ha ha ha ha ha," The Mbah was wide open.
Not responding to the ledge of Si Mbah, Kakung only grumbled slowly while continuing to focus on the streets, and not long after, after seeing a roomy place, they decided to return to rest just to perform ashar prayers.
Long story short Ashar Salat finished they tuning on the side of the road, again rushed them into the car Kakung, and the trip back done.
Too bad, what the Mbah was afraid of really happened. Just running for about fifteen minutes, the car engine does not want to be turned back on after suddenly dying.
"The gas is running out, Min. It's late again" Kakung said as he looked at his watch.
Hearing the words of Kakung everyone was immediately overwhelmed by confusion, for hours they walked in the forest, they only met with one vehicle, while the settlement was also not there.
"We wait for the car to pass first, we buy gasoline in the tank," said Si Mbah.
Back the panic atmosphere slightly decomposed after the speech came out of the lips of Si Mbah. They again held a pandan mat near the car, just straighten the back that has begun to ache because it continues to sit, while installing the ears to hear the roar of the car engine if someone passes.
Time keeps passing. Their hopeful faces began to turn into bewildered faces again. After the sky had completely darkened but not a single vehicle crossed the road.
"Are you far away, Matt?" ask the Mbah briefly.
"About two to three hours if using a car, Min," Kakung guessed as he looked up after remembering the time they had passed when they visited the forest.
"Rarely Mat who brings a car through here, if until tomorrow do not meet the vehicle how Mat? " the words of the Mbah further aggravate the atmosphere.
Hearing that question Kakung only shook his head as a gesture of not knowing.
"I've gone to bring jerry cans, I will bring gasoline here by ojek if there is," said Si Mbah to give a solution.
Hearing the solution, Darto stood up and offered to participate.
"Mbah Min here, Let me be the same Bidin who accompanied Gus Darto," said Surip greeted nods Badin's head, they did not have the heart to see the old man want to bring jerry cans and walk far.
Upon hearing Surip's offer, Si Mbah nodded, then let the three young men walk away from his car. Leaving Harti with Kakung and Sambah in it.
Three men walked together while carrying the empty jerry cans they reached from the top of the car. The further away their backs become more invisible. The darkness of a silent night in the wilderness.
Seriate.
