ADJOINING REALM

ADJOINING REALM
THE MYSTERY OF SWAMP 1

After arriving under the banyan tree,

the three of us rushed to a time near the tree.

'Ahh, this is really the place I've seen, where the nape of Dining was hit with a piece of wood by a man I don't know - it's better that I hurry'

I said in my heart.

We all immediately shower, change clothes and continue to perform prayers dzuhur congregation. After praying, we take the time to re-charge the energy by eating corn rice which is now half of the initial amount we carry.

"Awhile, Tok, Sat-I want to take care of the deposit of Si Mbah first," I said followed by standing picking up a black bag from my gunny bag.

"That's what, Dar?" tanya Anto was accompanied by a nod of Satya's head.

"No idea, Tok. The Mbah just a message that I was told to plant this thing under a banyan tree," I replied as I carried the small hoe from my house to dig the ground.

The two of them followed my footsteps, only to watch myself planting this black bag under the banyan tree.

'I think it's deep enough, ' I muttered when I finished digging. After feeling enough, I immediately put the bag into the hole, then I piled back after.

Not half the hole I covered with earth. Suddenly a rumble from the sky began to sound in that sunny afternoon. Instantly the forest that was once only dim, now turned dark. The black cloud had already floated right above the crown of the three of us.

The glediarrr! Cetiarrr!

Lightning flashes and oceanic thunder, accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds made me rush to close my hole.

After finishing stockpiling the bundle, the three of us took shelter right under the twigs of the banyan tree. Lucky because the size of the tree branch is very large, our clothes are all so dry made.

"Can that be it, Dar? Again the heat suddenly heavy rain rich gini" wonder Anto.

"Ho.oh, Dar. It's weird, what's because of that bundle, Dar?" timpal Satya's.

"What's possible-Sat? Tok's? Because it suddenly rains? You two are sometimes really cool" I asked to hold a laugh and immediately could see the sour face of both of them.

Luckily, it didn't take long for the big rain and the rumbling sound had subsided, all that was left was water perched on the leaves, and it kept dripping down into the pile of dead leaves on the ground.

"Come, Sat, Tok. We continue, still daylight," I asked to continue the journey.

We go back together, along the forest with the flow of the river. The path is no longer there, there are only shrubs stretching along the river bank. Until it requires us to make our own path using machetes.

"That's not it, Dar. This the way?" Ask Anto

"Not knowing, either! The Mbah just said, we should follow the times," I replied briefly .

"Yes si-Dar, but if you think surely no one has ever passed through here. There is no road at all" said Satya.

"Yah .. maybe Simbah just gives the easiest way to remember. It's a forest, and we don't know where the swamp is. We will also go home easily. Can go through the path that we make, plus it may not be stray, because we just have to follow the direction of the times" I said at length, and my words managed to make their faces both look satisfied.

After all agreed, we decided to rest and return to congregation of ashar prayers at the edge of the times. In between breaks, I saw Satya ruffling the bag from her burlap holster, grumbling with the words, "Where is it?"

"What are you, Sat? Confused as it may be," I asked briefly.

"Annu ... Dar, I brought the same thread to the fishing line. Try to see that, the fish is really big at times," he replied while still looking for items in his sack.

When I look away at the times, there are a lot of fish that are clustered in the river current. The fish looked so clear, because the river water was indeed very clear.

"Nah .. meet, Dar. We'll catch a minute here, okay?!" pinta Satya while walking away, towards the crowd of banana trees not far from his standing position.

It didn't take long, he came back with a bunch of worms in his hands. He immediately put up a bait and threw the hook without warning. After that he just continued to look at the river current while grasping the strings in his hand.

"Damn! Got big! We ate good tonight!" shouted Satya who was carrying a cork fish the size of an arm that managed to snare him.

"Well! That's a cork, Sat! Then we're close to the swamp!" my sergeant after seeing Satya's fish.

Satya pierced the fish's mouth with a stem of wild grass, from the mouth to penetrate the gills. Then hook the two ends of the grass, so that it can be worn as a handle. With a big smile on Satya's face, we hurried onward.

I did not agree to spend the night by the river, because the water can sometimes rise. But even so, if we force into the forest, there also can not be used as a place of rest, because the place is completely filled with thickets. So inevitably we have to get to the swamp, and hope there is a roomy place there.

The yellow sky has stretched above the head, the afternoon has returned to greet in between our trips. I was a little relieved, when the swamp that we were heading to from afar was visible.

Gratitude is really ingrained when we can arrive before sunset, plus many airy places that we can use as a resting place near the swamp.

Without a second thought, we rushed to clean the body and collect as many dry twigs as possible, as if all that had become our main activity every night before. When all the preparations are done, we return to rest in the swamp area.

"Where? We want to go on? Do you want to wait for tomorrow morning?" I said in front of the burning fire.

"I nurut, Dar, the important thing is that we eat first" said Satya who was busy putting a stick into the mouth of a fish that had been cleaned his innards.

"You eat what you remember, but the real one too, let alone the side dish is delicious!" ledek Anto that makes the atmosphere a little warm.

Long story short, the fish as big as an arm left his bones, the magrib prayer and isya was finished we tunikan. Intending to find bamboo trees as Si Mbah asked, we went hand in hand to comb the edge of the swamp. Sure enough, there was a bamboo tree branch with yellowed leaves aka dead stuck beside the swamp, and on it there was a broken red ribbon bond, exactly like the description of Si Mbah.

Without warning, I immediately grabbed the branch. Not unexpectedly just touched the twig for a moment regardless of where it was originally stuck.

"This must have been deliberately tancap definitely yes, Tok, Sat?" I asked with my hands still holding the bamboo saplings.

The question from me did not get an answer from the two of them, even though they were right behind me. So I pointed the yellow light from my father's flashlight towards the two of them, ascertaining what they were doing so as not to answer my question.

When the light beam reached their faces, Anto and Satya looked extremely sweaty. Their faces were pale with frightened expressions while staring in the same direction. Out of curiosity, without a second thought I directly aimed the flashlight towards their view, at the same time I also jolted, after seeing clearly, something strange that now the three of us are watching.
