...----‐-----------------------------------...
The Kingdom of Astapura, led by King Sri Narendra, invited kings across the country to commemorate the centenary of the end of the Barathayudha war. The invitation arrived at the kingdom of Dwipajaya, one of the kingdoms in Nusantara.
King Daneswara who was then leading Dwipajaya accepted the invitation.
In front of his royal masters, King Daneswara asked a soldier to recite the contents of the invitation.
“It is better for His Majesty to start preparing for departure to Astapura” said Patih Naraya who is an adviser to the king.
“Betul Sire. The journey to Hindustan takes fourteen days of sailing. This month, the climate in the sea is quite friendly. No storms or waves in the near future” Patih Mahesa adds information about the weather of the season.
After hearing some input from the Patihs, Daneswara decided to prepare for his departure and intended to arrive earlier than the invitation, which will be held on the twelfth of next month.
Daneswara had a kinship with King Sri Narendra because one of his nephews named Utari was the son-in-law of King Sri Narendra. Not only that, Dwipayana and Astapura collaborated in the textile and spice trade.
Daneswara had six daughters by his first wife and two sons by his second wife who were concubines. His first wife, Paramitha and his six children named Andhini, Parvati, Badari, Mahisa, Citra, and Gayatri. While his concubine, Swastika had two sons named Adhiyaksa and Atmadewa.
One by one, Daneswara's daughters were married to kings from all over the country, except for her youngest daughter, who was only twenty-three years old.
Daneswara ruled justly and wisely. Daneswara also distributed a fair inheritance to his sons and daughters.
Daneswara gathered his wife and son in the palace garden. While resting, Daneswara stated
he intended to attend the invitation to commemorate the war Barathayudha.
“I will prepare for departure to Hindustan. It would be nice if your wife and children are also present in this invitation” said Daneswara.
The first son of Daneswara, who was the same age as his youngest daughter, asked permission not to attend because he was studying the science of commerce.
“Ayahanda, I am studying kanuragan” said Atmadewa.
Daneswara nodded his head. The science of canuragan must be studied without pause, if Atmadewa participated in the voyage to Hindustan then when he returned later he had to re-learn the science of canuragan from the beginning.
“My husband, me and Swastika will help prepare for your departure. The palace should not be left empty. Depart with Gayatri” said Paramitha.
Gayatri approved her mother's proposal. He and his father prepared the items they needed during the trip to Hindustan.
“Mother, what is Hindustan like?” Tanya Gayatri was the first to sail to Hindustan.
“There are many temples there, there are many sarees and beautiful jewelry there the quality is better than what was sent to Nusantara” said Paramitha while preparing some sweets
dry for the trip.
“Why do mothers prepare sweets, are not many sweet foods in Hindustan?”
“Daughter, the journey to Hindustan took fourteen days. In addition to dried meat and fish, sweets will accompany you all the way to Hindustan. Eat a lot after arriving”, Paramitha said as she stroked her daughter's cheek.
“Your mother forgot one thing, dear” said Sawstika who appeared with her favorite snack Gayatri.
“There are many handsome men” Swastika while pulling off the Gayatri ladder and doing repetitive twisting movements.
“Stop Swastika. Gayatri came to accompany her father to meet the invitation of Raja”, Paramitha said with a smile.
“Relax Paramitha, your daughter needs to see a handsome man there. Remember Gayatri, don't let your father tell you to walk while closing your eyes”
The three of them laughed.
