Waiting Time

Siddarth approached at the empty-looking Gayatri. His wife sat facing the wall of the back room where he practiced regularly. Gayatri's face looked puffy, her eyes were glazed over.

"I'm sorry for what happened in Dwipajaya" Siddarth said.

"tsk" Gayatri sneered at Siddarth.

"Bansheer is out of my control right now. Father is preparing to go to Dwipajaya" said Siddarth trying to calm Gayatri.

"What use? will the arrival of my father-in-law bring my father and my whole family back to life?" tanya Gayatri her voice was heavy.

"I didn't expect Bansheer to do this. This was beyond our expectations. I'm sorry I couldn't save Dwipajaya" Siddarth said, not knowing how to convince Gayatri that he wasn't the mastermind of the whole mess. Siddarth was not close to his in-laws, the words coming out of Siddarth's mouth sounded like trash to Gayatri.

"There is no need to comfort me, the God has outlined my destiny. Don't talk like you care about my family" Gayatri said cynically.

"Well if that's what you want. I think you need some time alone" Siddarth said.

Gayatri did not think with Siddarth's attitude. What attitude did Siddarth show? The death of his family seemed insignificant to Astapura. The condolences that the members of this palace addressed to him seemed to be just a formality. There is no empathy at all.

Gayatri tears are spilling. He hurriedly rubbed his face with the sari he was wearing. He stayed in his room for 40y days without interacting with anyone.

Both of his servants looked worried. No exception with Jhanvi. On the other hand Jhanvi is happy because Siddarth spent a lot of time in her room, on the other hand he hates to hear the servants gossiping with Rishi secretly giving Gayatri nutritious supplements to keep Gayatri healthy.

"Until when will the princess be in the room" Sanjan whispered to Rupika.

"Go! don't gossip" Rupika's expulsion.

"I'm just asking. Mr. Siddarth seems to be having fun with princess Jhanvi" Sanjana said, raising her voice for Gayatri to hear.

"Hey! stop your stupid behavior" Gunjana said scolding Sanjana.

"Stop fighting" hardik Gayatri.

"Bring me to the back room" Gayatri ordered.

Gayatri walks towards the temple. He looked at Mahadeva's face in his little heart he prayed that God would forgive his mistake for leaving Mahadeva for 40 days. He asked for nothing but determination because he had now become an orphan.

"I am deeply saddened by the death of your family and the people of Dwipajaya" said Saksenya who had been directly behind Gayatri.

His witness followed the footsteps towards the back room which to him looked seedy. The walls of the building are full of moss. There was dust stuck on his floor and stone windows that led to the back road of the palace.

"Eat" bargained Gayatri.

The witness did not refuse. They eat in silence.

"Don't you want to walk on those dry grasses?" ask Saksenya.

"There's something I want to tell you"

His witness recounts all his journeys to Dwipajaya and Bansheer's greed. His Saxon story was clear to Gayatri. Siddarth and his father were not involved but because of their negligence a kingdom had to bear the consequences.

"You want revenge?" ask Saksenya.

"No" replied Gayatri.

Revenge will lead to more victims and regrets. Revenge will not bring life to those who died.

Gayatri knew her mother performed the Sati ritual, which was to burn herself in a sacred fire and her father swore an oath to Bansheer's descendants. The Dwipajaya realm protected giant brothers and tantric monks. Just waiting for the time when Bansheer will be wiped out.
