"What did you say?" siddarth said to a messenger sent from Astapura. Siddarth grabbed the collar of the news anchor who seemed resigned to the treatment of Siddarth.

Siddarth and Bansheer who were on their way to the third kingdom immediately turned back to the palace.

Siddarth spurred his horse twice as fast as he could get to the palace.

"What did you do to Laksmi!" siddarth asked in front of his wife's face.

Siddarth's eyes warmed up and looked red.

"What have I done?" ask Gayatri to ask.

"Laksmi escaped Odissa must be because of your actions" Siddarth said judging Gayatri.

"Do you think I can impregnate Laksmi?" gayatri asked coldly.

"Pregnant? hahahaha obviously you lied that the food I ordered specifically for all the dancers in Odissa would not get them pregnant! siddarth snapped at Gayatri and woke up the entire palace ward.

The occupants of the palace ward secretly eavesdrop on the commotion.

"Tell me what you did to Laksmi!" siddarth gripped at Gayatri's arm and asked his wife to be honest.

"Master please stop!" rishi barged in.

"Laksmi went of his own accord. Me and the doctor were late to realize that Laksmi was pregnant. All the food you give is in his wardrobe and wrapped neatly in a bag" Rishi handed him a bag sewn from scrap cloth.

The smell of the bag was very bad. Siddarth ventured to see the contents of the pouch that had been filled with mushrooms and caterpillars.

"Keep this thing out of my sight!"

Rishi took back the bag.

Siddarth sat down limp, imagining Laksmi's frightened face.

"I'm sorry" Siddarth said, realising Gayatri was still standing there.

"No need to say that. If you come back to the ladies' ward, you better call me before you go in"

Repeatedly Gayatri urged herself to toughen up. He will not lose to dancers whose status is not equal to him.

Currently her position is safe as a hostess. There was no reason Siddarth would visit Odissa's dancers.

"Laksmi helped me escape the forest of death" Siddarth told Gayatri.

"We were both almost dead. With the remnants of the energy that Laksmi had swept me out of the forest of death safely"

"Laksmi was originally a slave from Nusantara who was sold to Hindustan. He fled to the forest of death" Siddarth recalled his initial encounter with Laksmi.

Now it was clear to Gayatri why Siddarth paid more attention to Laksmi. Laksmi is half Siddarth's life. Siddarth owes his life to the girl.

If Laksmi was not a slave, and Siddarth was not bound by the rules of the palace, perhaps they would now be a matching couple.

Imagining the two getting married makes Gayatri's chest go up and down withholding pain. Gayatri blinked her eyes and realized that she was the one beside Siddarth at the moment.

"I'm leaving" said Siddarth with his sluggish face.

Gayatri followed Siddarth. Bansheer was ready with his horse.

"I will return safely" Siddarth said, smiling at Gayatri.

"Be careful" Gayatri's speech was barely audible.

The footsteps of the horses left the palace.

"The princess all went according to plan" Rupika whispered to Gayatri.

Gayatri brought out her best smirk.

"This secret principle, let no one know" said Gayatri.
