Dvesas
The Tiga Jaya

"No" cried Jayaswara's wife and two children. They implored Jayaswara to stop his intentions. Jayaswara did not flinch as he sat down cross-legged, closing his eyes. His ears were deaf to the sounds calling his name.

His wife was followed by her two children running to hug Jayaswara in the fire. The people around them could not prevent it. Jayakarsa stared at the flames full of tears. Her lips twitched, her cheeks wet, her jaw as if stiff.

The flames devoured his wife and son. The scorched smell filled their sense of smell. Black smoke rose into the sky piercing through the clouds. Soon, the fire shrank and eventually ran out.

Jayaswara's body was charred but not reduced to dust. All of his hair and cloth were burned while his limbs were intact. His wife and son were reduced to dust.

"Om Santi, Santi, Om. King Jayaswara has proven by his oath and deeds that he is innocent. There is no point in regret. Rice has become porridge, the body has become ashes. May their spirits go to the moksa" Pandita said, ending the ceremony.

Pandita and her students wrapped Jayaswara's body in white cloths and moved his body into a glass casket for everyone to learn from Jayaswara's love.

The ashes of his wife and child were put in jugs and aligned with his coffin in the temple. The sky looked cloudy, nature seemed to be mourning.

"King, you have obtained what you seek now go home in peace. There is no resentment and anger in your heart" Pandita said slowly.

Jayakarsa's body trembled. He did not have the strength to pull his saddle. Why didn't he listen to Jayaswara's request for them to talk about this matter with a cold head?

Now that he had lost his biological family, what was left of him? One of his soldiers transferred Jayakarsa to his horse and left the place.

The days passed Jayakarsa began to lose her appetite. His body grew thinner and unkempt until he ended his wife's child's life and committed suicide slit her throat.

"What karma has befallen this family until they die a terrible death?" patih Mahesa's speech to King Daneswara and Patih Drona who participated in the last three Jaya honors.

"Humans sometimes act without thinking because of emotion and sheer lust. Give a little space in our hearts to be able to think logically under any circumstances" said Patih Drona.

"Don't worry my brother, the three Jaya have entrusted their kingdoms to me" Bansheer said, smiling proudly as he displayed the power transfer scroll that Jayakarsa had signed and stamped three Jaya.

The feelings of Daneswara, Patih Mahesa, and Patih Drona are not good. They look at each other.

"I hope the three Jayasan will be better under your leadership" Patih Drona congratulated.

"Then we say goodbye" said Patih Mahesa.

"She, don't you suspect him?" ask Patih Mahesa.

"The movements are too suspicious. Anyway why would Jayakarsa hand over three Jaya to strangers compared to you who are still uncle?" ask Patih Mahesa.

"We don't have any solid evidence. The stamp and signature are genuine. We better talk about this when we arrive" said King Daneswara.

Arriving at the palace got word that the three Jaya invited Bansheer to try Hindustan wine. However there is no fact that Bansheer was involved in the deaths of the three of them.

King Daneswara asked his men not to interfere too far because they did not know what Bansheer was planning.

Mahesa was dissatisfied. He secretly paid one of the Bansheer soldiers to obtain the evidence and information he needed.
