Chapter 20: Call My Name

In the morning Fiona is having breakfast with Kendrick and Shopie. Fiona's got a hospital schedule this morning.

"Fio do you have a schedule to go to the hospital today?" ask Shopie. Fiona then nodded.

"Then you go with uncle only. It just so happens that we're one way" Kendrick said.

"But it__"

"It's okay Fio, you go with uncle only. Later the driver will pick you up," Shopie said cutting Fiona's words.

"Alright then," Fiona replied.

After breakfast, Fiona and Kendrick leave.

On the way to the hospital, Fiona was silent. He was watching the view outside from the car's glass.

"Fio.." call Kendrick.

"Yes Uncle, what's wrong?" fiona looked at Kendrick. Instantly the man's face turned sour.

"I want you to just call my name" Kendrick said, keeping his focus on the streets.

"WHAT?" cry Fiona. Kendrick looked at him.

"I'd rather you just call my name if we were both. I feel old when you call me uncle. I'm 30 years old, and we're only 8 years apart" Kendrick said.

Fiona shakes. This guy next to her is really weird, "I can't be Uncle," Fiona replied. Kendrick squeezed the steering wheel of his car. I don't like the answers coming out of Fiona's mouth. The two fell silent within minutes before Fiona realized the hospital had just passed.

"Uncle Ken, it looks like we've passed the hospital" Fiona said staring back. They're getting away from the hospital.

"Uncle, stop here. We're past it" Fiona said, staring at Kendrick. The man just kept quiet with his casual face.

"Jeez. Why is Uncle just quiet," Fiona began to worry.

"Ken... Kendrick we're past," cried Fiona annoyed. A smile was on his face. Fiona realized that she had already called the man by his name. So the guy was working on it. Ah, goddamn. Kendrick is unpredictable. Kendrick turned his car back to the hospital.

On arrival in front of the hospital, Kendrick parked his car.

Fiona took off her seatbealt, then got out of the car.

"Thank you Uncle Ken for driving me" Fiona said, staring at Kendrick's surprised face. Fiona then left.

"Look, I'll punish you later" Kendrick muttered and left.

Two hours passed. Fiona tells the driver she used to drive her to pick her up from the hospital. The woman waited in the lobby before the driver arrived.

"Drrrtt.. drrrtt.." the phone vibrated. Fiona sees an incoming call from an unknown number. The woman then lifted him up.

"I'm waiting for you up ahead. Get out quickly" said someone. Fiona recognized the voice. Kendrick's Voice.

"Hello.. Did you hear me Fiona?"

"Why can Uncle be up ahead? I told the driver to pick me up" Fiona said.

"The driver was driving Milly to buy kitchen ingredients to the supermarket" Kendrick replied.

"The other driver must stand by at home if Shopie needs it" he continued.

"Hurry up, don't make me wait long" Kendrick ruled and decided on his call.

Fiona sighed, again she dealt with Kendrick. Obviously the driver said that he would pick her up. After saving her phone, Fiona walks out of the lobby. And sure enough, Kendrick was already there. The man was standing next to his fancy car.

"Ah, you've come, let's go in" Kendrick said, opening the car door.
