Chapter 54: There is No News

Kendrick contacted Fiona repeatedly, but there was no reply from the woman.

"Darling.why don't you pick it up." Kendrick muttered back to Fiona.

"I'll catch up with you after my divorce is over and take you back to our new home" Kendrick said, turning off her phone because Fiona didn't pick it up. One month ago, Kendrick bought a new house for her and Fiona started a new life.

"Ken.." call Norah into Kendrick's room. Today until the trial is over, Kendrick will be staying at her parents' house.

"It looks like Sean's asleep." said Norah holding Sean.

"Thank God mom." Kendrick replied. The little baby must be exhausted.

Norah put Sean to sleep on Kendrick's bed.

"Sstt... grandma's most handsome grandson sleeps again yes.." whispered Norah as she watched Sean squirm.

"What about Fiona?" ask Norah. Kendrick told Norah everything about her divorce and Shopie's true nature.

"No news yet. Looks like I'll have to see him in Alaska. Chances are he's back there mom.." Kendrick's reply was lethargic. It felt like her life was empty when Fiona was far away from her.

"Mommy hope everything will be fine. You better get some sleep. It's already night. Tomorrow we will attend your divorce hearing" Norah said. Kendrick nodded.

"Well then mommy goes first" Norah said and left Kendrick's room.

A car is parked in front of an apartment building. A pair of people came out of the car.

"Robert, looks like I'm staying at Fiona's tonight. You just go home. Thank you for dropping me off" Joyce told Robert.

"It's my job as your lover to take you sweetheart." said Robert blinking one eye to make Joyce blush. The two are currently in a relationship. Joyce eventually accepts Robert as her lover.

"Don't tease me Robert." Joyce shyly made Robert smile happily. His girlfriend was very shy. Robert liked to tease her.

"Robert.." said Joyce glaring at the man in front of her.

"Good night sweetheart.cup" again, Robert kissed Joyce's lips. He almost got a blow from Joyce if he did not immediately dodge. Robert laughed at Joyce's annoyed face.

"I love you Joyce." said Robert hugging his girlfriend's body. Tonight, she plans to sleep in Joyce's apartment and hug her while she sleeps, despite Joyce's rejection.

"I love you too Robert." Joyce hugged Robert back.

"I go first, bye sweetheart." said Robert gently peeked at Joyce's forehead. Robert got in his car and left.

Upon arrival in front of Fiona's room unit, Joyce presses the bell that was there.

"Squealing.." the door opened.

"Have you had dinner? I brought food for you" Joyce said, entering Fiona's room.

"Thank you Joyce" said Fiona. He had not eaten since this morning, his mind was filled only by Sean. He was worried about the boy.

"Have you spoken to Kendrick?" joyce asked to sit on the small sofa in Fiona's room. Joyce has known about the relationship between Fiona and Kendrick since she visited New York a few months ago.

"I didn't pick up Joyce's call."

"Aunt Norah also contacted me several times. She must be disappointed in me Joyce. Aunt Norah was very kind to me. He even thinks of me as his son. But I betrayed her." Fiona cried. Joyce hugged him.

"I miss Sean Joyce, I don't know what that kid's like right now. I hope he's okay" Fiona continued.

"Fio, I think you should talk to your uncle. I think he'll support you like he told you before" Joyce said.

"No Joyce, I'm not sure about that. I was determined not to disturb their lives. It's my fault, too."
