Chapter 69: Flashback

The Flashback

After escorting Sean and Scarlett to her parents' house, Kendrick and Fiona go in search of Shopie's whereabouts. Kendrick also ordered people to search Shopie throughout New York City.

"We need to find Shopie's aunt right away. Don't let him hurt anyone else" Fiona said.

"You're right, baby" Kendrick replied.

"I'll call Mark back. There may be new information" Kendrick said, reaching into his pants pocket. He called Mark's number. There's no answer.

"Where is that guy? why didn't he pick up my call" Kendrick said, calling Mark's number again.

Kendrick saved his phone back because Mark didn't pick up his call. Not long after that Kendrick's phone rang. Kendrick took his phone and picked it up.

"Hello.."

"What?"

"I'll be there soon" Kendrick said.

"What's the matter, baby?" ask Fiona worried.

"Shopie's been found and Rosaline's in danger. Shopie looked at them and made her go berserk even more. Shopie wants to hurt them" Kendrick said.

"Oh my God, how is this.we have to get there and help them" said Fiona began to fear. He didn't want anything to happen to Rosaline.

Upon arrival at Kendrick hospital, he parked his car. He and Fiona then got out of the car and walked in quick footsteps into the hospital's backyard.

"Honey it's them" said Fiona. Shopie was shouting with one hand around Rosaline's neck and the other holding a large rock.

"Damn it, those two cops are useless there, too" Kendrick said.

"Wait a minute" Kendrick's intrusion when Fiona's about to leave.

"We're passing by from another road so Shopie doesn't see us. Let's walk from here." said Kendrick. Fiona then nodded and followed Kendrick.

"Darling, you wait here. Don't go anywhere. I'm trying to distract Shopie. Remember, don't go anywhere" Kendrick kissed Fiona's lips. After Fiona nodded, she left.

Kendrick walked carefully, so as not to steal Shopie's attention. Mark who saw it was immediately shocked. Seconds later, Mark takes his eyes off Kendrick to make Shopie unsuspecting.

"Shopie look out behind you." cried Shopie's mother when she saw Kendrick appear from behind. Shopie reflexively twisted her body without releasing Rosaline.

"Are you crazy huh.." cried Mark angry at Shopie's parents.

"Your crazy daughter wants to hurt my wife and you support her fucking." Mark said angrily about beating up the old woman.

"My daughter is like this because of you, too" replied the woman.

"Stop there.it looks like you want to hasten the death of this damn woman" Shopie laughed.

"I said stop.." cried Shopie.

"Kendrick stopped" cried Mark. He didn't want to make Shopie angry.

Shopie laughed, "look at your faces now. These frightened faces," said Shopie laughing loudly.

"Stop it or we'll shoot you right now" police said.

"Just try if you dare" said Shopie taking refuge behind Rosaline's body. Every time the police wanted to shoot him, Shopie would make Rosaline's body her shield.

Fiona couldn't take it anymore. He can't just stand there. He's gonna help Rosaline. Fiona was looking for something around her. He saw a large piece of wood and took it. Fiona ran quickly as Shopie wanted to hit Rosaline's head which seemed to have resigned.

"Bughh.." as fast as lightning Fiona hit Shopie's hand so hard that the rock in her hand fell. At the same time, the police shot Shopie in the leg. Kendrick then took Shopie.

"Damn you guys.." cried Shopie. Rosaline ran over and approached Mark. She hugged Mark and cried.

"Mark.." muttered Rosaline tightly hugged Mark's body.

"Yes, baby. I'm here. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you" Mark said, peeping Rosaline's head off.

"This time, I'll make sure none of this happens again" Mark promised.

"Let go of my daughter." shouted Shopie's mother. Two doctors kept him from causing a mess. The police then handcuffed Shopie's hand.

"It's a shame that Shopie wasn't aware of your presence" Kendrick said, embracing Fiona's waist. He is also unaware of Fiona's arrival. His heart almost fell if Fiona didn't make it.

"Let's meet them" Shopie said. Kendrick nodded.

"Thank you so much Fiona. If it wasn't for you, my wife would have been hurt" Mark said. Rosaline then let go of her embrace upon hearing Fiona's name.

"Fiona." said Rosaline, hugging Fiona.

"You're okay, right?" ask Fiona. Rosaline nodded her head.

"Thank you, you are my savior" said Rosaline.

"Just like Rosaline, we're both friends. Fellow friends should help each other instead" said Fiona.

"Let's see the state of Shopie" Kendrick said.

"We need to tighten up our surveillance in the future" Mark said.

"You're right Mark" Kendrick said. They went to Shopie.
