Forbidden Desire
chapter 6: Night Market

"I really like Robert. But that doesn't mean I love that guy. After all, educated men and people like them won't want to be with a woman like me who is just a high school graduate" Joyce said. He used to have a taste with Robert, but he was self-conscious. They can't possibly be together.

"She asked for my number" Fiona said, prompting Joyce to stop her steps.

"Are you serious?" Fiona nodded.

"I'm sure he's interested in you Fiona" Joyce said. Although he was a little envious of Fiona. If only it was him.

"Eitherway. But he's a friendly person" Fiona said, again Joyce was surprised.

"really? I think he's a flat guy like Mr. Parker's his father" he said. Both of them put their feet back.

"I think Mr. flat nature. Parker didn't come down on him" Fiona chuckled at the flat face of the cafe's owner's husband where he worked. Very inversely proportional to Mrs. Edith was friendly and kind.

"I want to tell you something" said Joyce.

"I broke up with Jayden a week ago."

"WHAT? why did you break up?" fiona asked in surprise at Joyce's words.

"I saw her walk with another woman Fio." said Joyce with a sad look on her face.

"Maybe you just misunderstood Joyce."

Joyce shook her head, "I guess I just misunderstood. But the next day I saw them go together to Jayden's apartment. And you know...."

"I see with my own eyes they're being__"

"Akh. I wanted to beat them both" said Joyce angrily. Fiona then embraces her close friend, giving him some encouragement.

"I'm sure you'll get a better man than Jayden." Fiona patted Joyce on the shoulder. The woman then nodded.

"The idea is not bad. Ayooo.." said Joyce. The two then went to a night market not far from where they lived.

Upon arrival at the night market, Fiona and Joyce board a few rides.

"Joyce. I don't want to ride that reanglala. I'm so scared. You're the only one on board" said Fiona refused Joyce's invitation to board the ring.

"Aishhh. Yes, I was the one who went up. You go buy food. I'll catch up with you later" Joyce said.

"Well, I buy food first" said Fiona. The two then separated.

Joyce stood waiting for her turn to go up while watching the reanglala spin. He could not wait to climb up and see the city where he lived from a height.

"Mom.. I want to ride it," said a 6-year-old child pointing to the ring.

"Jeez James. No. No. just the others. It's too high" said one woman who forbade her child to ride the ring.

"James wants to ride the ring. Point." said the boy scowling folded his hands in front of his chest.

"Uncle Robert is picking up his phone. Only later if uncle has come," said the woman persuaded her sulking son. He was astonished to see his son's enormous guts. There's no fear of it.

"Mom. Look they're down. I can ride on my own" said the boy running near the barn.

"James. wait. Uncle Robert can be angry," said the boy's mother running after her son.

"Bugh.. " James bumped into someone's body making his little body stagger fall on the grass.

"Geez, are you okay." said Joyce to help James stand up. The boy then nodded.
