"What's up, Vier? Why are you just keeping quiet? Hurry up and get me to pick up Vero!"
Vaya is still filled with anger and fear when she hears that Vero is with Bu Cintami.
Vaya obviously has personal issues with Bu Cintami who also has personal issues with Vaya. Two people who have personal problems with each other.
When a child is in the hands of an enemy, it feels like giving up hostages for free on the battlefield.
"Hurry up and take me, Vier!" Vaya yells.
The cry that became the expression that Vaya was currently feeling desperate.
"Vaya, please calm down first" Vier pleaded.
"What?! Calm down you say?!"
"How am I supposed to calm down while Vero is with someone who doesn't calm me down?!"
Vaya is still going after Vier.
"I really don't think about you, Vier! How could you just hand Vero over to your mother without my permission?!"
Vaya was still staring at Vier with an annoyed look whose intensity was getting higher every second.
"Vaya" said Vier.
"Vier, do you know what I'm thinking right now?! Your mother hates me so much! And it doesn't rule out your mother harming Vero!"
"Vaya!" hardik Vier with an octave.
Vaya fell silent at Vier's hardened expression.
"Sorry, Vaya, I didn't mean to yell at you. I just want you to calm down and please don't think no" Vier's tone softened.
Vaya pursed her lips tightly, she covered her face with both hands. The annoyance still devours Vaya's common sense.
Vier let out a heavy sigh, as he glanced towards Mike. The two of them waited until Vaya finally acted calmer.
"Alright, Vaya, let's go get Vero," Vier said.
...*****...
"I always remember how much your mother hated me, Vier. Your mother even came to bring a divorce application that I have to handle."
Vaya throws his gaze out the car window, while Vier and Mike listen intently.
"I told your mother that I wouldn't be willing to sign the divorce if you hadn't come alone, Vier."
"And do you know, I think your mother really hated me!"
Vaya laughed bitterly while Vier still did not take his eyes off of looking at Vaya. At this time he actually understood all the things that were worrying Vaya.
Vaya and her mother continue to struggle. Two women who to Vier actually have the same character. Both are stubborn and face both must be with more succumbing.
"And even now your mother still hates me. I can really accept all that, Vier. It doesn't matter your mother hates me, I don't expect your mother to accept me. But for sure, your mother never hurt Vero! Enough of me to feel hurt!"
"Vaya, I'm not gonna let my mom hurt Vero, believe me," Vier said.
Vaya smiled wryly at Vier's smile.
"Didn't you trust me?" ask Vier.
"Vier, right now I can't trust anyone but myself" Vaya replied.
...*****...
Vero was too scared, the boy looked down but stole a glance at the table which was currently filled with cookies and fresh fruits.
Vero lowered his head again as his eyes met that of Bu Cintami.
Ms. Cintami was still staring straight at Vero, she was still sipping chamomile flower tea in her cup.
"Vero, why don't you eat the cake? Are all these cookies not your taste?" ask Miss Cintami.
"This macaron is so delicious!" Miss Cintami took a big box of colorful macarons.
Miss Cintami glanced at Gemma. Gemma felt pounding, all the snacks on the table were snacks that she chose to entertain children's guests.
"This chocolate cake must also be delicious, right, Vero?"
"Your mom would never give you all these foods, would she, Vero?"
"Yes, my mother never did" replied Vero.
"If you stay with me, every day all this food will always be available to you, Vero," said Ms. Cintami.
"No way" replied Vero.
"Why don't you want to?" ask Miss Cintami.
"My mother said, eating a lot of chocolate gives me a toothache" replied Vero.
"You take it easy, Vero, there will be many of the best dentists who will take care of your teeth" said Ms. Cintami.
"The toothache is not good! So it's better not to eat chocolate," said Vero.
"Haha! What a unique mindset," Cintami laughed.
Miss Cintami looked back at Vero's face. His smile was still glimpsed at the boy sitting quietly. He vaguely remembered when Vier was a child and of course it was a memory that was so long and worn out consumed by time.
"Vero, Vero's been living with anyone but his mom?" ask Miss Cintami.
Vero frowned, he was still putting on an alert attitude.
"Why ask?" Vero asked back.
"Oh, haha," Miss Cintami laughed wryly. "I asked out of curiosity" replied Ms. Cintami.
"I just want to make sure, if all this time Vero lived properly," continued Ms. Cintami.
"What is decent living?" ask Vero.
Vero threw his gaze at Gemma and at Bu Cintami in turn.
Ms. Cintami commented on her smile, it seemed like she had just realized that her interlocutor was just a three-year-old toddler.
"I mean, does Vero eat good food every day? Does Vero sleep well? And has Vero started school?"
Ms. Cintami was asking a lot of questions for Vero.
"Every day Vero eats well and sleeps well" replied Vero.
Ms. Cintami held her breath, she felt annoyed that this boy before her always had answers even though those answers were just plain answers.
"Yes, I know Vero eats well and sleeps well. But does Vero eat and sleep in a suitable place for Vero?" ask Miss Cintami.
"As a future successor of the Yanjayadi family, Vero cannot live in vain! Just like your father used to be" continued Ms. Cintami.
"Vero!"
Vaya's cry as it burst into the room made all eyes go straight to Vaya.
"Mother!" Vero jumped down from his chair and immediately ran up to Vaya.
Vaya immediately welcomed Vero into his arms.
"Where's mom from?" ask Vero.
"I'm sorry, Vero, I'm just going for a walk" Vaya replied.
"Mother cheats, walk alone," grumbled Vero.
"I'm sorry, Vero, then we go together, yes" said Vaya.
Vier looked at his mother's expression that looked upset. Especially when looking at the togetherness of Vaya and Vero.
"Mother, thank you for taking care of Vero" said Vier.
"Vier, it's better for the next, let's take care of and educate Vero," said Ms. Cintami.
"What?!" sergeant Vaya couldn't believe what he was hearing.
At that instant the atmosphere immediately stiffened.
