Getting Married for Lying
009 - Restu

Vier got out of a white luxury car. He wears aviator sunglasses, a black suit combined with a sky-blue shirt. She looks like a model out of a fashion magazine. Four guards surrounded him. 

Mike immediately welcomed Vier's presence. Vier's arrival at the village where Vaya lives triggers an explosion of spectators.

The neighbors were confused to see the presence of Vier who looked like a movie star who was about to shoot. They're looking for a film crew they think is in hiding. Seeing the enthusiasm of the neighbors around Vaya's house made Mike forced to call the herd of guards more like the incident in the cafe at that time.

"Why are you going to my parents' house?" ask Vaya to Mike.

"Pak Vier is a very detailed person" Mike replied.

"Sir Mike, what does this detail mean?" Vaya still asked because she was not satisfied with the answer from Mike.

"Later you will understand what Mr. Vier means, Mr. Vaya," Mike replied, commenting on his mysterious smile.

Vaya harrumphed, he really felt embarrassed because of the spectacle of the neighbors who did not even hesitate to brandish their cellphone cameras.

Vier took off his glasses as soon as Vaya's mother appeared from inside the house. The middle-aged woman was surprised to see the arrival of a guest who from her appearance alone was so luxurious, plus the tightness of the guard made Mother Vaya initially frightened. 

"Mother!" Vaya immediately ran to hug her mother. 

"Vaya, what's going on?" ask Bu Asih to be confused.

Mike immediately went to Bu Asih.

"Good day, I'm Mike's assistant to Mr. Vier," Mike introduced himself while shaking Vaya's mother's hand.

"I-iya," Asih's stuttering.

The two luxurious looking men clearly confused him.

"Good day, I'm Vier," said Vier introducing himself as he bowed before Vaya's mother.

Duh Gusti, what is this? Bu Asih was shocked.

"Can we come in?" ask Mike.

"Please, please," Ms. Asih looked clumsy to let her guests in.

Vier entered the empty room without a chair, there was only a small table in the corner of the room that was so simple.

Bu Asih and Vaya immediately sat down on the floor. Vier looks confused because he is not used to sitting down. He looked so awkward when his long legs had to be bent in order to sit cross-legged like Mike.

Mike looks flexible when sitting cross-legged, sitting pose like a person who usually practices yoga.

"Thank you for your generosity for allowing us to visit" said Mike, a spokesman for Vier.

Who will allow you to visit? Vaya ngedumel in heart.

"Oh, my goodness! It is precisely I who must thank you because you are willing to visit," replied Bu Asih.

"I'm here and representing our family asking permission to take Mom's daughter" Mike continued.

Vaya's mother is stunned, she stares at Mike, Vier, the guards, and ends up at Vaya.

Vier looked at Vaya, has Vaya not told her family about her marriage yet? Does Vaya think Vier's joking?

"Mother, look, I'm actually getting married" Vaya said at last.

Bu Asih was stunned to hear Vaya's words.

"You're getting married?" Ma asked back.

Vaya nodded stiffly.

"When?" ask mom again.

"Three more days" answered Mike.

Asih's mother was still pensive, the middle-aged woman was still sitting on the floor. It's too sudden for him.

The daughter he had raised for over thirty years would suddenly get married in just a matter of days, without ever telling him.

"How many months has it been, Vaya?" asked Bu Asih after long enough to catch himself.

"Mom, this is not what you think it is" Vaya replied.

"Honestly, Vaya, there's no way a girl would get married so suddenly if it wasn't forced by circumstances" Bu Asih's eyes began to tear up.

Now it was Vaya's turn to be stunned, he could not possibly admit that he was forced to marry because he had lied. The lie that was made was only intended to be a joke, now brings disaster to Vaya.

"Mom, believe me, I'm not that girl! Have you ever seen me bring a man to be introduced as a girlfriend? I've never even had a girlfriend until now! I better work well for Rian and Aria, especially for Mom! You have to trust me, whatever other people want to say, the important thing is you have to trust me. I won't let Mom down" Vaya tried to convince her mother.

Tears dripped from Bu Asih's eyes. Vaya hugged her mother. 

"I love my mom and my sisters. I'm the backbone of this family, I have to trust and support me" Vaya said, wiping away her tears.

Mom's smile expands.

"I'm sorry to suspect you, Vaya, I believe your son never disappoints you."

"Thank you for your trust."

"So, of all the men who came earlier, which one is Mom's daughter-in-law?" ask Mother.

"The one wearing the black suit, Mom," Vaya replied briefly.

Mother gawked at Vaya's answer which sounded insignificant. Vaya himself was really hesitant to admit that he was going to marry Vier.

"What's? Is she getting married?!" rian and Aria exclaimed as mom told them.

"Sir Vaya wants to get married? So fast!" said Aria.

"Aria, in your brother's lifetime, I've had two children" she said.

Vaya put rice in her mouth. Dinner today was crowded because Rian and Aria were surprised to hear that their sister was getting married. They were also surprised because all this time they knew that Vaya had never had a lover.

"So I heard from the neighbors he said in our house like we were filming a movie!" Rian hatch.

"You don't see how the neighbors are swarming in front of our house" she said.

"Sir Vay, secretly has a girlfriend, right?" aria Goda.

"Sir Vay went on a blind date?" ask Rian.

"Sir Vay, what kind of a future husband is Brother?" ask Aria.

"Ouch! You ask too many questions, Brother is confused to answer them. Your question is like a gossip-hunting reporter," Vaya replied as she made her last bribe.

"If only Mother answered, what kind of sister's husband?" ask Aria.

"Mother was also confused, this brother of yours never brought a man home. But today so many men are coming and they are all in black. So I don't know which one, either" Mother continued.

"Can't they all marry your sister?!"

Aria and Rian immediately patted their forehead hearing the answer from mother.
