Getting Married for Lying
188 - Opposed

"Mom, what do you mean you say that?"

Vier immediately broke the silence that was occurring.

"Vier, I mean, I want Vero, as the successor of the Yanjayadi family, to have a much more decent life than he has been" Ms. Cintami replied.

"So, you mean, as long as Vero lives with me, Vero doesn't get the things he deserves?" cut Vaya.

Vaya tried to hold back her emotions. Suddenly there are parties who want to take Vero from him, of course, it becomes the most unacceptable thing for Vaya.

"Isn't that clear? You're not worthy of raising Vero as the successor to the Yanjayadi family!" sahut Bu Cintami's.

"Mrs Cintami! You can probably separate me and Vier! Because I know and I understand that Vier is your boy!"

"But, you can't separate me from Vero, because Vero is my boy!" vaya toilet.

"It's up to you to judge that I'm inappropriate and unfit to raise Vero! I've raised Vero by myself without relying on anyone else!"

"I really won't let anyone take Vero away from me, because Vero is my son!"

"You!" Miss Cintami is arrested.

"Vier! How dare this woman oppose Mother!" sergeant Bu Cintami.

"Basic women don't know themselves!"

"Mother!" sela Vier's.

Vier threw a tired and annoyed look towards his mother.

"Mother! Please, please stop interfering in my affairs!"

Bu Cintami was speechless, staring back at Vier's unfriendly gaze in his eyes.

"Don't we make a deal?"

"Mom won't interfere in my business!"

Vier approached Vaya as well as Vero.

"I just want to be happy, I want to be happy with my wife and my son, Mom" Vier said.

Miss Cintami took a breath and held her back. He wanted to be angry, but somehow he felt daunted by Vier's earnestness.

"Vier," Mrs Cintami was restrained.

"Mother, didn't Mom always stress to me how important it is to take responsibility for what I've done?!"

"Right now, there's a wife and a child that I'm responsible for!"

"If you keep challenging me like this, isn't that the same thing as me being an irresponsible man?"

"It's been enough for the past three years that I've lost my role as a responsible husband and father! Therefore, all I can do right now is make it up to you for the rest of my life!"

Vaya felt her chest rumble again. He tightened Vero's embrace.

No one can separate him from Vero.

Bu Cintami's expression hardened, as did Vier who was increasingly insistent on his decision.

Vier did not care even though he had to do a fight with his mother.

Right now for Vier, Vaya and Vero are everything.

"Let's go, Vaya, Vero," asked Vier.

"Vier!" prevent Ms. Cintami.

"Sorry Mom, if you keep challenging me like this, all I can do is leave" Vier said.

Vier immediately takes Vaya and Vero away leaving Bu Cintami who must swallow his own anger.

...*****...

Vaya steals a glance towards Vier who is currently throwing his gaze out the window of the car.

Vaya really feels bad for Vier. His presence and Vero obviously made Vier back into a dispute with Bu Cintami.

"Vero, now we go to Disneyland huh," Vier said as he gently rubbed Vero's head.

Vero shook his head, he kept tightly hugging Vaya.

"Vero, I'm sorry Dad, yes" said Vier as he looked gently at Vero.

"Dad promised me, no matter what happens, I'll protect you" Vier said.

"Vier," said Vaya restrained.

"Vaya, really, I promise I'll never leave you, no matter what happens" Vier said.

...*****...

Vier held Vero who seemed to be getting tired and sleepy.

"Vier, can we talk?" ask Vaya.

"Mike," call Vier.

Vier immediately handed Vero who was asleep on his shoulder to Mike.

"Please take Vero back to the apartment" Vier ordered.

"Well, Mr. Vier," replied Mike who swiftly carried Vero.

...*****...

Vaya stopped his steps as he walked down the path leading towards the fountain garden. Right now Vaya's mind was really very unsettled.

"Vier, I'm really thinking. I feel so bad for you and your mother. I know your mother hated me from the beginning. And now, you're going against your mother like this because of me and Vero" Vaya said.

"Vaya, I know and I understand. But, this is my decision. I have so much responsibility for your life and Vero."

"I don't even care if I have to be an ungodly child. Because right now for me what's more important is my future with you and Vero."

Vaya felt his heart pounding uncharacteristically at the earnestness shown by Vier.

Vaya tightens his coat when the night wind blows.

"Vier, I really feel really bad and also burdened. I really don't want to feel that right now you're by my side, just because it's limited to your responsibility to me and Vero, too" Vaya said.

"Vaya, do you really think that I'm like that?" ask Vier.

Vaya looked at Vier fixedly, Vier's eyes that always looked brilliant dimmed amid the glittering lights that illuminated the city of Paris.

"Vier, I always felt that my presence from the start was a mistake. Had I never been in your life, none of this would have happened."

Vaya's eyes began to glaze over. Vier took Vaya's hand and grasped it tightly.

Vier's large and warm hands carried the warmth that spread throughout Vaya's body. The warmth that Vaya always misses.

"Vaya, you're wrong to think that your presence in my life is a mistake" Vier said.

"Vier, but isn't that all the truth?"

"If I hadn't come to Selena by then, tell Selena a lie, your marriage to Selena would have gone well!"

"There is no need for drama of rejection and opposition from your mother! You and Selena live happily as in European fairy tales!"

"Vaya," cut Vier.

Vaya fell silent as Vier looked back at Vaya closely.

"Well, if you feel you've done something wrong for ruining my wedding plans with Selena."

"You may wish that you could turn back the time that has passed."

"You must be sorry for all the wrongs and deeds you have committed! Because wrong is a human thing!"

"But from that mistake, you must be responsible for fixing everything!"

"You've been responsible for being a surrogate bride, and you've also become my wife! I'm just asking that from you!"

"Vier, why are you asking me for those two things?"

"Of course to make amends for your mistakes!"

"Vier, when so many women are more deserving, women are more worthy to be with you! But why should I?"

"Do you really want to know?"

"Yes, I've always wanted to know!"

"Look, what if we make a deal?"

"If I tell you everything, then you should stop assuming that everything that happened was the result of your mistake."

Vaya gulped his saliva, his eyes still fixed on Vier who looked at him with great earnestness.

"I have to listen first, before I agree!" reject Vaya.

Vier covered his smile.

"I won't say it until there's a deal!"

"I won't agree to it until you explain everything!" insist Vaya.

Vaya can already negotiate with Vier.

"Well, I'll tell you everything, listen carefully, because I won't say it twice" Vier said.
