A bouquet of roses lay so beautiful on a table with a clean white cloth with a candlelight bath accompanied by moonlight that illuminates the spacious and magnificent room. Plus the sound of the music accompaniment that flowed in silence. How romantic. The atmosphere that is often coveted by girls when going out on dates with their partners.
It's just something's wrong. Yeah, this is wrong. Everything here is so perfect. Everything is in its place. The one who is in trouble and out of place is me. That's what Amy was thinking about when she sat facing her boss who was sitting so elegantly while staring at her with eyes waiting for a response from her. It took a while for Amy to recall what had caused her boss to behave that way.
As if he knew his thoughts. His superior again said a sentence that had made him careless so that he was unable to respond in a long time.
"Date with me, Amy." This time his boss not only spoke, but stretched out his hand to stroke Amy's cheek so gently.
Jolted by the unexpected touch, Amy almost fell from the chair she was sitting in.
"It looks like I've taken you by surprise" he said casually with a small smile on his lips.
You just found out? You almost made me faint! Amy screams in her mind. Oh, if only he could shout that line in front of the face of this annoying superior.
"It's not just a shock, you know that," Amy replied exasperatedly. "I don't mean to be rude, Mark, but I really didn't expect you to say a sentence…." Amy was about to say "unreasonable" but she paused for fear of offending the man who had been her boss for 3 years. "Romantic amulets like that". At least the expression is not too offensive. "I thought…."
Not had time for Amy to finish her words, her boss had already cut her off first. "What do you think? You think I didn't like you all this time?" Poking his body closer, his boss was now looking into his eyes with both of his gray eyeballs so fixed. "I think I've been showing it so clearly all this time."
This time Amy was trying to understand what her boss meant.
Show me? Besides talking about work, have we ever discussed or done something so intimate?
Oh, this is really frustrating. If only Amy could speak as she pleased to express what was in her mind without feeling anxious about offending her boss, maybe this confusing matter would be resolved so soon. But he can't do that. However in front of him this was his superior, as good and as close as they were, he could not lose his self-control.
Ah, there he is! Superior's kindness. Maybe that's what his boss meant about "showing him all along".
The more he thought it could be the answer. If not for his boss, he would never have had the opportunity to work as a secretary at the large company he currently works for. Not because he was lame or incompetent, but he was not qualified to work as a secretary. He was just a graduate from an ordinary university, not to mention that there were so many candidates who were more deserving of the position than him.
So it would be a surprise to Amy when she found out she was appointed directly by her superiors to occupy the position. Until many rumors say that he had slept with his boss in order to get the golden position, for himself who was just an intern at the time.
That really doesn't make any sense. Because the first time he met this superior when he was appointed as his secretary, not before that. So, how could he and his unexpected boss be in a relationship. Or maybe before he met his boss in his study, they had met before. If so, he doesn't remember it at all.
That's the first possibility. The second possibility, maybe after he worked for half a year with his boss. At that time he was in financial difficulties so with determination he ventured to borrow a large amount of money on the company, which in the blink of an eye was immediately approved. It really surprised him.
Not only that, there was actually so much help Mark had given him. At that time Amy only thought if she was very lucky to have a boss as good and as understanding as Markus William Xander. Never explained in his mind that his boss was interested in him.
Because in addition to his good actions, Mark was never so intimate with him. He was always quiet and stiff every time he was with her. His superior was truly such a mysterious creature. That was the aura emanating from his body's attitude. So many rumors in the office about the personal life of his boss.
Of course, Amy does not just believe and care about the unclear rumors. His job is more important than questioning the personal life of his superiors. But now he's starting to wonder.
Three years of working with Markus does not necessarily make Amy can read what is in the mind of his superiors. As is happening in this dimly lit room.
"How much longer do I have to wait for an answer from you, Amy Anderson."
Reproof with an impatient tone that just resuscitated Amy from her nostalgia.
Thumping, Amy tried to regain her voice. How many more times do I have to lose these words.
"I'm sorry for this slow. It's not every day that I get this seromantic confession" said Amy flatly.
"No need to be so sarcastic."
Oh, goddamn. Watch your mouth Amy Anderson.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Amy said. "I don't know what got into me so I said that, but you really surprised me." Sighing deeply, Amy was surprised to see the glare of Mark's eyes glowed wittyly looking at her. "There's nothing funny about this situation, Mark."
"No, not." Leaning leisurely in his chair, Mark twirled the glass containing wine in an indifferent manner.
"You're this, ah, that's it," tepis Amy stopped herself from continuing. "Before that, there was something I wanted to ask you. Why now? You can't blame me for not being aware of your feelings all along. Your good attitude cannot be the foundation for me to know how you feel. If you really liked me that long, you should have been more transparent, rather than vague." Standing up from her seat, Amy leaned closer to Mark. "You understand, don't you mean? So, why are you revealing it so clearly now?"
Laying his glass down slowly, Mark brought his face as far as a sigh from him. "Because it's time."
After giving the ambiguous answer, Mark again relaxed in his chair.
Blinking her eyes, Amy was puzzled for a few seconds by that short answer. After expressing his thoughts at length, this was all he got in response. This boss really tested his patience.
Oh, that's right! What this annoying superior hoped that such a short and ambiguous answer would make him understand all these strange situations.
Amy couldn't take it anymore. Fuck that boss! Let him show his superiors that's all he has in mind right now. There is no need to sort out what he should and did not say to this kind and understanding superior.
Not yet had time to express his thoughts, Amy's cellphone ringtone rang. Worried whether to pick him up or not, Markus gestured for him to answer the phone call.
"Hello?" ketus answer.
At first Amy who was angry now mimic her face turned serious, then changed to worry and then turned empty. After the call ended, Amy was sitting limp in her chair.
"What's wrong?" ask Mark beware.
A tear rolled down Amy's cheek. "My brother's in an accident."

After that Amy did not pay much attention to how she could arrive at the hospital just in time a doctor came out of the operating room and is now talking very seriously to her mother. Walking closer, Amy is confused to see her mother fall limp in the arms of Samuel, her best friend since childhood, who is also her lover, but of course no one knows it, other than Amy and Samuel, but, about their secret relationship.
Realizing the whereabouts of Amy now standing next to him, her mother immediately burst into tears in her arms.
"Sam, what's going on?" Amy panicked to see the reaction of her mother who cried so bitterly. His chest was so tight, he began to fear what he thought was true. "What.…" Taking a deep breath, he tried hard to ask the terrible question he had in mind now. "What's Sophie…."
As if knowing what he was going to question, Samuel patted his shoulder softly. "Sophie's fine. The operation went well."
"Then, why?" tanyanya was astonished as she expressed her point by glancing at her mother who still did not stop crying.
It was then that Samuel's eyes began to glaze over and he immediately threw away his face, as if unable to explain what had happened.
"Oh, stop confusing me!" frustrated screams. He could no longer bear this confusing situation.
If her sister, Sophie, is perfectly fine, then why do these two people she loves look so sad? Did Samuel lie about his sister's situation to calm her down or was there something else that caused them both to behave this way.
Pushing her mother's body slowly, Amy looked down at her mother. "Mother, please, tell me, what exactly has made Mom and Sam so sad?"
"Oh, Amy" sobbed her mother, clasping her hands together so tightly. "What should we do, what should we do?"
"Do what? Tell me clearly what does Mom mean?"
"Sophie. Sophie.. she's ca... cat," continued her mother stammering.
After saying the painful sentence his mother almost fell to the floor, which fortunately was immediately captured by his superior—which turned out to be there also—, he said, his mother quickly helped him to sit in a chair near him.
For a moment Amy froze in place, trying to remember why her boss could be in the hospital as well. Before long his vague memories began to recall what had happened a few tens of minutes ago.
Due to being too dazed by everything that had just happened and the shocking thing she had just heard, Amy was completely unaware that the one who had delivered her to the hospital was Markus, her superior. His head was currently completely dizzy so he could not think clearly.
Unknowingly his gaze met Mark's gaze, there, in the depths of those grayish eyes was emanated a glare of eyes that seemed to tell him everything would be fine and there was no need for anyone to fear.
Surprisingly that gaze slightly lessened his worry. In his heart grew a glimmer of hope that this matter was not as dire as he thought.
How quaint. Very very strange. What's wrong with her? Why did he feel this way just because of a glance from Mark? What the confession of love from his superior in the restaurant earlier had affected him so strongly. Could it be that his heart was beginning to waver by that shocking confession.
A gentle touch on his shoulder jerked him from his daydream. Beside him stood Samuel who was looking at him sympathetically. That's when Amy realized that she had just forgotten the existence of her lover there.
"It's gonna be okay, Amy. We can definitely get through this" Samuel said.
No, everything's not okay, Sam.
"Yes, everything will be fine," Amy smiled weakly.
Oh my God, what happened to me? Everything feels wrong. Yeah, very wrong.
