"You've been crying?" ask her mother as Amy closes the door. "Geez, Amy, you should have held yourself back. It would be a shame if the bride lived her wedding day with such eyes."

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't help it" said Amy, looking down with regret.

"Good thing we have this." Her mother pulled the bridal hood over her entire face. "At least with this your face will not be too clearly visible. All you have to do is bow your face during the ceremony. Let the guests think you're a shy bride."

Shy-tempered. The word instantly restored Amy's cheer. Anyone who knew him well knew that shyness was never in his blood.

But in order to appease her mother, Amy complies with her mother's will without the slightest protest.

Just a few steps before they approached Uncle Antony—he was the brother of his mother— who was standing in front of the altar, in exchange for his dead father, Amy was struck by what her mother whispered in her ear before handing it over to her uncle.

"Actually before I looked for you, Markus was already looking for you. But since she hasn't come back yet, I finally decided to look for you too." His mother glanced at Markus with a proud look. "But seeing him standing there, he may have found his way back."

Rather than look, Amy felt her uncle hooking his hand in his arm, then slowly walked up to Mark at the end of the altar.

In a line of cheering guests around her, her mother waved her hand trying to attract Amy to look at her.

"Amy, put your head down! Amy," call her mom frustrated. "Geez, what's wrong with that kid?"

Let alone to remember his mother's request some time ago, even everyone present there looked blurry in his vision.

His gaze was only on the handsome man at the end of the altar who was watching him with eyes as sharp as an eagle. His face was completely illegible.

Oh my God, help me. Please don't let him listen to my conversation with Samuel.

Unable to hold her back, Amy's hand trembled violently as her uncle handed her hand in Mark's arm.

Turning to the Priestess who started their wedding ceremony, Amy felt Mark's hand pat Amy's hand gently in her hand.

Mark's small actions seemed to show Amy if she wanted to calm him down.

Turning to look at Mark beside her, Amy could now breathe a sigh of relief. In an instant his worry thought Markus had learned his lie was gone right then and there.

There was no way Markus could smile lovingly like that looking at him if he knew his lie.

After that, the two of them said the sacred vows of marriage. And the pastor concluded by announcing they had been legal as a couple.

Standing face to face, Markus opened the bridal veil that had been covering his face.

"Look at how pale you are, now let me restore the hue of your face."

Markus' way of showing how he restored Amy's facial hue was accompanied by cheers from the guests present.

The kiss she gave made Amy almost out of breath. And as he said, Markus had managed to restore the hue of his face.

Among the gathered guests, Amy saw her mother wiping the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief. Next to him Uncle Antony hugged his mother to comfort him.

How much his heart ached that he would soon part with his mother.

Spreading her gaze, Amy was relieved to not find Samuel among the guests. At least that meant Samuel had given up on him.

Now it's all over. There's nothing more to worry about. All she needed to think about now was to make her husband happy. Yes, husband.

Amy glanced at Markus who was standing next to her. Until the end of her life she will always make her husband smile happily. That's vow.

A hand suddenly pulled him to the side.

"Even though we had expected Mark to have a long time of heart for you, we were still shocked by your sudden marriage" Bella winked at him. "Or is the rumor true that you've produced a 'Little Mark'?"

That straightforward question just provoked laughter from his other coworkers.

"Darling, you mustn't say so bluntly to your Boss' wife. What if she'd complain to her husband, who's also your boss. Isn't that so, Miss. Xander?" ledek Katryn's.

As usual Kat never missed a chance to sneer at him. It's no secret that sexy beauties hate her.

His hatred was not unreasonable. Had Mark not chosen him as his own secretary, Kat would have been in that position.

Moreover, Kat has also been eyeing Markus for a long time. Unfortunately, her attempts to tempt Mark were always coldly responded by her husband.

"I'm not like you, Kat," she smiled back in a slant. "My mouth is not as wild as yours."

His violent insinuation made the people around him laugh.

Not accepting being a laughingstock, Kat opened her mouth wanting to return her scorn.

"Excuse me, my beautiful and kind girls, now let your poor boss take his wife back" said Markus, stopping Kat's angry outburst that was about to break out. "Someone wants to meet him."

Smiling understandingly, Amy's friends let Mark take her.

Throwing a hateful look at Amy's back that walked away, Katryn throttled. "I really don't understand what Mark saw from that jal*ng. Judging from any side, jal*ng village was a sneaky girl. Markus has been fooled by that innocent pretentious face."

"Here you go, Kat, just accept the fact that you've lost to her" Anna patted Kat on the shoulder, handing her a glass of champagne. "drink. Looks like you need this."

After handing over the drink, Anna immediately left Kat, before her eardrum was ruptured by the rampage of her co-worker.

In the distance, Amy looked back as a deafening scream shocked her and all the guests there.

"Just ignore it" Markus said, turning Amy's face away. "No day without Kat making a fuss."

"You're right, too," agreed Amy chuckling.

Afterwards Markus invites Amy to meet with a relative who is the only one present in their marriage. He is the brother-in-law of Luke Dryden. A wealthy businessman who owns the largest department store in Brighton Hill. That's how Mark introduced it.

"Actually Helen also wanted to come here, but since she was recovering after giving birth, she wanted me to tell you both how sorry she was for not being able to come."

"He doesn't have to feel guilty. His health is more important" said Markus understand.

"Markus right. We can meet him at another time."

If you think about it well, actually Amy does not know much about her husband's family. He only ever met with mother Markus—who is now also his mother-in-law—in the office once.

At that time their relationship looked very awkward, as if Markus and his mother had not seen each other for a long time. Not to mention Mark's cold attitude when welcoming the arrival of his mother made Amy shudder in horror.

It was the first time Amy had seen such great hatred in her husband's eyes. Perhaps it was also the reason for Mark's mother's absence at her wedding.

Looks like this mother and son have a bad relationship. Later if they have time alone, Amy will start asking a lot of questions about her husband's family.

It was time for him to get to know Mark more deeply. There was so much she did not know about her husband's personal life.

At first he will find a way to improve Mark's relationship with his mother. What is happier than the harmony of a family.

Satisfied by the thought, Amy smiled broadly at her husband who was engrossed in chatting with his sister-in-law.
