I Will Marry You (I'll Marry You)

I Will Marry You (I'll Marry You)
Fear Actually

The roaring cries in the small alley were heartbreaking. Samuel couldn't bear to see Amy constantly blaming herself for something she didn't do.

Slowly helped Amy stood up and held her lover in her arms.

"Amy, listen to me. Amy, relax!" samuel's orders, shake Amy's body to get her attention. "please calm. It's not your fault."

Looking up at her with a misty look as the tears still did not stop flowing, Amy blinked her eyes to see Samuel's face more clearly.

"It's not your fault, Amy. It's all my fault, if only that day had been me…."

Releasing his embrace, Samuel's gaze immediately looked far away, his eyes looking so hurt, as if remembering the incident alone had made a fresh wound open again.

Taking a slow breath, Samuel turned his gaze back to him. "What you said never happened. It's not like that."

"Which word do you mean? When Sophie finds out about our relationship, Sophie confesses her feelings for you or Sophie's accident is related to our relationship? So which one? Tell me more clearly so I understand!" amy is impatient.

"This has nothing to do with our relationship" Samuel said. "I admit that day Sophie did confess her feelings for me–"

Raising his hand, Samuel stopped Amy from cutting him off. "At least listen to me until it's over. You want to hear it all, don't you, without a single thing I'm covering up."

Throwing an annoyed look at Samuel, inevitably Amy held back the scathing answer he would throw in front of his lover's face.

It would be wrong if Amy wanted to hear everything. If only Samuel had not behaved mysteriously after the accident that befell Sophie, surely he would not have been too suspicious and conjectured like this.

Satisfied with his silence, Samuel continued his story.

"That afternoon before I finished work, Sophie came to me at the workshop. And as you might expect, he confessed his feelings to me. At first I was quite surprised because I honestly never once thought Sophie had romantic feelings for me for that long. You know for yourself how I treat him. She's just a little sister I really care about."

Yeah, Amy knows that. Even that was also the main reason Amy kept their relationship secret all along. Amy fears their relationship will feel awkward when Sophie finds out about their relationship.

When they were teenagers, Sophie once said that she did not want their friendship to be destroyed by romantic feelings that might later grow between the three of them.

In fact, it actually happened. A few years after the promise was made, Samuel confessed his feelings to Amy. Amy initially rejects Samuel because at that time she did not know with her own feelings. Plus his fear of the fabric of their friendship that will later be damaged if broken up.

As time went on, Amy knew she could no longer be Samuel's best friend. And when he spoke what he really felt for Samuel, he was shocked that Samuel was waiting for him to realize his feelings.

Two years have passed since this happy event happened.

"Amy, Amy," the repeated calls instantly awakened Amy from her daydream. "Are you listening to me?"

Refocusing her attention on Samuel who stood facing her with a worried look, Amy returned Samuel's gaze with a serious look.

"I'm listening. Continue your story"

Doubtful for a moment, Samuel finally continued the story earlier.

"After hearing the confession, I spontaneously told him what I felt for him. At first he couldn't believe it, but when I told him I had someone I loved, he ran right out." Then Samuel's eyes glared again, his eyes dimmed sadly as he recalled the fateful incident. "I didn't think of chasing him. I just stayed glued to my place like a fool. Then that's when I heard the commotion outside. Sophie. Sophie. I shouldn't have let him go in such a state, but–'

Unable to see Samuel's agony blaming himself for the accident that befell Sophie that day, Amy held her lover in her arms.

"That's why I kept it a secret from you. It's been quite painful for me to bear this guilt, I don't want to supplement it with your loss as well if you know I'm the cause of Sophie suffering like this."

"No, Sam, I don't blame you. It's already destiny. No one expected this bad thing to happen to Sophie."

Listening to that, Samuel immediately hugged Amy back with all his might. She doesn't believe that Amy doesn't blame her for anything that happened to her sister.

The two of them hugged each other tightly trying to comfort each other.

"Now what should we do about Sophie's condition? I wanted as much as I could to help him get through this, but I didn't know what to do" Samuel said.

Looking up with a big smile on her face, Amy immediately told Samuel what she had just heard from Mark.

Now Amy and her mother are sitting restlessly outside the examination room. They were both very nervous waiting for Doctor Peter who was examining his sister inside.

That morning after his conversation with Samuel, he immediately delivered the good news to his mother and sister. Both gave very different reactions.

Although her mother looks very happy about the good news, the other case with Sophie, her sister seems very skeptical about it. Sophie looks so vulnerable. It was as if even a small hope could destroy him.

Amy now prays with all her heart that Doctor Peter can lift Sophie out of her slump. This was the only hope he had.

Amy doesn't know if Doctor Peter can't heal her sister, what to do.

A warm hand suddenly clasped her hand gently, looking at her side, Amy smiled thankfully to Samuel who was also there with her to give her strength in the face of this ordeal.

As if aware of the tension that was going on in those outside, Doctor Peter gave a soothing smile to them. With a small nod he then conveyed about the results of Sophie's examination.

Excited by the good news, Amy spontaneously shouted happily, then closed her mouth because it had disturbed patients and nurses who were in the hospital. Instead he hugged his mother very tightly and wiped away the tears that ran down his mother's cheeks.

"Everything's fine, Mom. Sophie will be back to how she was" he said.

Shortly after delivering Doctor Peter and her mother's departure from the hospital, Amy returns to the room where Sophie is being treated. Up there he looked sadly at Samuel who was just standing outside the door staring into his sister's room gloomily.

Despite hearing the good news, Sophie refused to see Samuel. It seems like her sister is still not ready to meet Samuel.

Noticing Amy's return, Samuel quickly changed his facial expression to be more cheerful.

"You better get inside, Sam. It's good for you and Sophie to sort things out between the two of you" Amy suggested.

"No need. I'm doing fine. Maybe he still needs more time to see me" Samuel refused to shake his head. "You don't force it."

"No. This should not be allowed to go on and on, I need to talk to Sophie about her childish attitude."

He was fed up with his brother's cold attitude toward Samuel. Until when will he continue to blame Samuel for this accident. Couldn't he see that Samuel was suffering as much as he was.

Before Samuel can stop her, Amy turns the key so Samuel can't break in and interrupt Sophie. In the room, Sophie was busy playing her phone.

"Sophie, I need to have a serious conversation with you" Amy said. "It's about–"

Tugging at the phone beside her body, Sophie shot a sharp look at him. "If you want to talk about my treatment at Cambry, let me tell you I'm not interested in that treatment at all."

After conveying that, Sophie immediately closed her eyes preparing to sleep.

Shocked by the shocking statement, Amy for a moment could not reply to the words of her sister. After being able to recuperate from her shock, Amy jerks her sister's blanket to get her attention.

"What are you doing! Go awayl. Now I want to go to sleep," Sophie threw out, trying to pull out the blanket that was still tightly held by her.

"Why don't you want to go through that treatment? Don't you want to regain your ability to walk? Or maybe you want to be paralyzed forever?" amy snapped, annoyed at her sister's incomprehensible attitude. "You think it's easy to get this meeting with Doctor Peter? If it wasn't for my boss' help, we would never have known that you had a chance to recover. After what mom and I have been through, you easily turn down this offer, like a kid who doesn't want to go on a picnic with his family."

Suddenly Sophie's rebellious mimic disappears from her face, then a drop of tear soaks her cheek.

"Not so," he mumbled softly, covering his face with both hands. "I'm scared."

Confession with that poignant tone************** Amy's heart. Her hands were removed from Sophie's blanket and she immediately sat down to her sister.

"There's nothing to be afraid of, Sophie. You'll be fine there. There's a mother who will accompany you through all that process."

Slowly pulled Sophie's hand that covered her face, after that there were tears that wet her sister's cheeks.

"What if after going through all that process I'm still like this, Amy? Just imagine I can't handle it."

"No. That's not gonna happen. Trust me."

"How can you be sure?"

As she was about to answer the question, Sophie spoke before her.

"There's always a possibility, Amy. The possibility of failure is always there. As Doctor Peter told you, the treatment is likely to be 90% successful%. That means there's a 10% chance of it failing. And I'm afraid of that 10."

"Stop thinking negatively. It produces nothing, other than ruining your mind. You'd better take a break, maybe it can help you ponder this more deeply."

"You don't understand, Amy," Sophie replied, shaking Amy's hand.

"What I don't understand here is that you, Sophie, your ugly thoughts are only going to make things worse for you" Amy said.

"What do I expect from you who know all that. You will never understand the feelings of someone who has lost a loved one now also have to experience this painful process due to stupid actions that can not face rejection well. How humiliating!" grouse Sophie pulled the blankets rough. "It makes no difference whether I can walk again or not, I still can't go back with him. If only I hadn't done that, maybe he'd have accompanied me through all this."

That last mutter though it sounded soft, Amy heard it very clearly in her ear. It turns out that Sophie's fear and complaints were not just negative thoughts, but she wanted Samuel to be with her in her difficult time.

Without saying a word, Amy left Sophie, who was getting ready for bed. Outside Samuel greeted him with astonished gazes looking at him who was walking out blankly.

"What happened, why do you look so shaken? Amy?" Samuel turned his head to face him. "I told you you didn't have to force Sophie to see me. Look at you now, you look tired after arguing with him. As we both know very well how stubborn Sophie would be if she had set something."

Shaking her head, Amy opened and then closed her mouth. His throat felt very dry as if he had just shouted out loud earlier.

Thumping, Amy tried a second time to speak. The next moment he spoke, his voice sounded so hoarse.

"Sam, Sophie needs you."
