Luna And The Dire Wolf's

Luna And The Dire Wolf's
Chapter 4. Valko The Dire Wolf's

Luna's body shook violently. He did not expect that Valko was actually the Dire Wolf figure he had met. Luna fell on the ground while staring at the figure of Valko who is now transformed into a giant wolf.

Valko started howling. The full moon's rays made the white fur that enveloped the giant wolf's body sparkle like silver. Valko slowly walked closer towards Luna.

Valko's look was so scary. He had a hard time controlling himself when he had already turned into a wolf. I don't know why Luna became such a strong attraction to him.

Valko refused to come any closer. The big foot with pointed claws was unwilling to turn around. His consciousness drowned.

"Go!" valko growled at Luna when her consciousness returned.

Unfortunately, in Luna's ears all the sentences that came out of Valko's lips were just like the typical growl of a wild animal. He didn't know what Valko meant.

"Val-Valko, behold! It's me, Luna!" luna shouted as she patted her chest, hoping for Valko's consciousness to return.

Luna's tears rolled down her cheeks. Fear and sadness are mixed into one. He felt sad because he found the fact that the man in front of him was a creature that was a very scary event.

"Run! Go, Luna!" This sentence was spoken from Valko's lips, but it sounded a long howl in Luna's ears.

Luna could only close her eyes, hoping that her new friend would come to her senses, and return to human form. On the other hand, Valko finally chose to leave immediately as his consciousness fully recovered.

Valko immediately turned back, and split the pine forest behind him. The giant wolf also ran as fast as the wind, leaving Luna who was still closing her eyes while stunned.

"W-what is this dream? Valko .. You turned out to be the legendary figure of the Dire wolf? B-how can?" A lot of questions swirled in Luna's head.

However, he could not do anything. Luna finally decided to get up from the ground. He collected back the sketchbook and the stationery he had brought and put it in his backpack. The girl stepped back, back to the grandmother's house.

The next night, Luna stared at the sky with a flickering star. The moon still looks round and bright, but not as bright as yesterday. Valko's shadow that turned into a wolf again flashed through his mind.

"Valc ...." Luna called out the man's name full of satisfaction.

Without Luna noticing, she exhaled a rough breath. Shortly after, a knock on the window made the girl look down. Down there was already Valko who was looking at him with a pushy look.

Luna immediately turned to the door of the room. The girl stepped closer to the object and opened it. He looked towards the uncle's room. The middle-aged man's room light was already turned off, meaning Diego was already asleep.

Luna immediately returned to the window, and looked towards Valko. He gestured for the man to go up to his room with a ladder deliberately placed under the window.

"How are you?" asked Valko while smiling wryly when he was in Luna's room.

"How can you still ask me?" Luna folded her arms while throwing a sharp look.

"Sorry, I didn't really observe the sky yesterday. So, I didn't know that last night was a full moon. I was just thinking of meeting you soon." Valko bowed languidly, staring at the end of his boot.

"What are you ... The same Dire Wolf back then?"

Valko nodded slowly, almost invisible. Luna exhaled a rough breath. He lowered his face, trying to see Valko's face still covered in long hair.

"I'm sorry, it scared you."

"Hey, look at me, Valko!" Luna summarized Valko's face with both palms.

Two beautiful eyes met each other. Their chests were both pounding with a strange feeling that was still trying to be pushed aside. Luna smiled gently, thus making Valko's heart feel cool.

"I'm afraid to see you as Dire Wolf. But ...." Luna's words hung in the air.

The girl hesitated a little to continue her words or not. Luna finally took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He removed his fingers from Valko's face, then lowered his head.

"But I'm more afraid if I can't see you at all, Valko."

"Aren't you going back to town? So, definitely won't see me again, will you?"

"Yes, you're right." Luna bowed lethargic.

Seeing the girl in front of him grieving made Valko's heart as if squeezed. The man finally took off the circular bracelet on his arm, and gave the object to Luna.

"What's this?" Luna looked up, looking at Valko's bead full of questions.

"This is a magic bracelet. If you want to meet me while in town, call my name three times, then kiss this bracelet!"

"And you will come in one blink of an eye?" sahut Luna enthusiastic.

Valko chuckled at Luna's innocent demeanor. He rubbed the top of the girl's head. Then he said, "Of course not! Your sense of longing will be cured. But, if lucky I can come to you in a dream."

Luna smiled broadly hearing the consolation from Valko. He finally put the bracelet in his pants pocket. It suddenly crossed Luna's mind to find out why Valko could turn into a wolf.

"Valko, may I ask you something?"

"What?"

"Why did you turn into a wolf?"

"Ah, the story is long. But I'll shorten it. But, do you still want to be friends with me after this?"

"depends! Tell me first!" urged Luna.

"Actually, I'm cursed."

Valko's memory goes back to a time where he was nine years old. It was full moon night. The sky looks so bright despite the lack of light in the Canis residential complex.

Valko woke up in the middle of the night. It was as if there was an urge within him to leave the room. Before going to bed, the mother warned her not to leave the room tonight.

However, Valko who was notoriously naughty did not heed the warning from the mother. When he left the room, no one was home. Father, mother, and grandfather were not in their rooms.

"Mother, father, grandfather ...." Valko kept calling his family one by one, but did not get an answer.

Finally Valko peeked behind the window curtain. The boy's eyes widened when he found out that many Canis people were gathering in the complex square.

They're circling a big bonfire. In the center of the bonfire was a snow wolf tied up, apparently for a ritual sacrifice. The curious Valko immediately came out of the house and ran towards the crowd.

Everyone there was surprised. At the same time, a beam of bright white light came out from within the wolf's body that started to burn. The light formed a silhouette of a wolf figure and began to utter a curse for Valko, as it was thought to have disrupted the annual ritual procession.

"Look at the boy! He will replace our ancestors guarding this forest for life! He would transform into Dire Wolf every full moon! This was a punishment for those who had already broken the rules of this ritual!" the giant light.

Shortly after, the huge light shot out and penetrated Valko's body. At once Valko immediately howled like a wolf. His body grew bigger and transformed into a white-haired Dire Wolf.

"So, the ritual should not be witnessed by children?" luna asked after Valko finished telling her past.

"Yes, and I'm the one who's this wayward breaking it." Valko smiled wryly as he rubbed his nape.

"Then never see me again!"

"What?"
