Retaliation of Disabled Girls

Retaliation of Disabled Girls
Chapter 10 The Feast of the Head of the Family

The waiter paced to arrange the furniture for the party. The decorations are installed with the help of magic. Actually I want to move the furniture with magic as well but it will be too draining. I mustn't be tired for tomorrow, because the party alone is exhausting. The head chef has already bought the groceries for tomorrow. The invitation is spread. Preparation is ripe. Just waiting for tomorrow.

I almost forgot about this party if not reminded by Keith, for focusing too much on revenge on Trevor. Trevor did not celebrate the title of head of his family for fear of being scorned by other nobles for being weak. This party is important to show that I am the new and legitimate head of the family as well as a means of cooperating with other nobles. This is the opportunity Trevor threw away.

Cuisine and drinks are on the table. Guests were talking to each other while waiting for me in the party hall.

I entered the hall. Their eyes were on me. They whispered to each other. I ignored them, walking towards the center of the room.

The waiter brought me a glass of wine. I reached for the glass to hold it up. Guests raised their glasses. I smile.

"For the prosperity and majesty of the new Moonlight Family Head. A toast!" I said while tos in the air.

The sound of clinking glasses colliding was heard throughout the room. I drank my wine. They drink it. I handed my glass to the waiter. The waiter left. Keith approached me with a smile.

It's time to dance. Of course the first dance with my fiancee. He was wearing clothes that were compatible with me. While on the horse-drawn carriage he asked me the color of the dress I was wearing. I answer the white color. He said he would wear a white suit to make us look good. I think it's a good idea, we performed harmoniously in public.

Keith reached out to me. I grabbed it and we moved each other's legs to dance. Other nobles are following us too.

"You look beautiful, Diana, "Praise Keith.

He also used to say that in my previous life. It was all to encourage me. Now, I'm guessing she wants to make me confident or really feel like I'm pretty.

"Thank you, Keith. You also look handsome," I replied with a smile.

Keith replied with a smile.

Our dance is done. Now it's the second dance. Keith stretched out his hand to me back. She still wants to dance with me again?

Before he could grab Keith's hand, Eric approached me with a hand out. Eric wanted to take me dancing. I received Eric's hand.

"I'm sorry Keith, we can dance again after this" I said, looking at my fiancee.

Keith lowered his hand. "Well I'll wait for you Diana."

He looked disappointed but still smiled. Looks like he knows why I accepted Eric's dance offer. I can't possibly turn down Eric's dance offer because he's king. After all, the first dance was the most important, I gave it to Keith.

Eric and I are dancing. There was a feeling of anger and joy in Eric's eyes.

"Why Eric?"

"It's okay, actually why are you engaged to her?" Eric glanced at Keith who was waiting for me.

"Confidential," elakku.

I can't possibly tell Eric everything. Even though he's my friend and can keep secrets, I don't want my contract engagement with Keith to be known by anyone else. Even Keith did not tell his sister. Of course, I'll keep this a secret from my friend.

"It seems you don't want to be honest with me, yes you have," Eric replied relented, he looked at me gently.

We're done dancing. Keith approached us. Eric kissed my hand and smiled.

"Again good luck, Miss Moonlight."

"Thank you, Your Majesty."

Then, unexpectedly someone reached out to me before Keith. It was Derek. She confidently smiled and asked me to dance. Keith approached me embracing my shoulder. He was about to shake Derek's hand, but I got caught. Keith looked at me wondering.

"What's up, Mr Rockyard?" I asked Derek.

"I'd like to ask you to dance, Miss Moonlight." He crossed one hand on his chest.

One of his plans and Trevor again. I didn't invite Derek. I don't know why he came. I spread my eyes around. There is no Trevor. It was impossible for him to come here with such a condition. Had he dared to come I would have humiliated him by saying that he killed my father. Indeed I have no evidence but the curiosity of someone will arise with the words I say.

I don't know where Derek's confidence came from. Why is he so sure I'll take his hand? In my previous life we weren't too close either.

"I'm sorry Mr. Rockyard. You can see for yourself I already have a partner," I refused.

"Can't you just take the time for me like you did when you danced with the King?" Derek still insists on dancing with me his hands are still outstretched.

"I'm sorry. You are not as important as the King or my fiancee. Or do you feel that your position is equivalent to that of the King?" I said cynically.

I could see from the corner of my eye that Keith was smiling. Derek clucked then gnashed his teeth.

The other nobles whispered and laughed at him. I only give due treatment to shameless people.

"One day you'll regret it, Diana" Derek threatened.

Derek left the party hall. It's not a threat, just a bluff. Can he make me regret it? I guess not.

I held onto Keith's hand which was still on my shoulder. Then we danced back.

"I thought you'd take Diana's dance call."

"That's impossible. I haven't liked it since I first met."

"Thank God."

Although he looked relieved, Keith also looked anxious. I don't know the reason, but I don't even bother to know. That's none of my business.

"Is Iris coming?" ask Keith.

"He's coming." Keith turned towards the girls who were swarming around.

I looked at Keith. Iris was talking to her friends. My guess is right, she's the type of girl who likes to gossip. I can use it to spread the closeness between Keith and myself.

"You've never been to a party before with your father, have you?" ask Keith.

"Never, my father only came alone, nor did he invite Trevor," I replied.

"Once I do, I'd better introduce you to the other royals after the dance is over" Keith said

Keith had been the head of the family for two years. He must have known more nobles than me who was only often at the residence. It's a good idea.

"May too" I replied.

Keith hugged my waist tightly ending our dance. Our faces are close together. I was flinched, but he immediately loosened his embrace.

Keith asked me to meet his acquaintance. I try to remember their faces one by one. Maybe I can get them to work together in the future. My party went well this time.
