Retaliation of Disabled Girls
Chapter 16 Conversation with Keith's Mother

"I know that your engagement is only a contract engagement" Keith's mother said, breaking the silence between us.

How did Keith's mother know? Did Keith tell him?

Looking at my face wondering Keith's mother continued, "It wasn't Keith who told me. I just guessed it. It must be hard for you to lose the parents and brother who betrayed you. You must need someone beside you to avoid incoming proposals."

It turned out that Keith had never said this contract engagement to anyone at all. Did our closeness look fake until Keith's mother realized it? There is no love between us. We need each other for our own benefit.

"That's right" I answered honestly.

"I won't ask you to break this contract engagement" Keith's mother said softly.

My eyes are growing, what exactly is Keith's mother planning? Why isn't he angry?

"Why?" my many.

"You two can decide for yourself in the future. I just wish you guys could get along even if you're not engaged anymore."

Keith's mother is too kind. He let us make our own decisions. However, she had no idea that I was just using this contract engagement to hurt Keith. I'm not sure we'll get along after this contract engagement is over. Keith must hate me, I hate him too. All that exists between us is division.

"Thank you, Mother. We'll get along, for sure" I said lying.

Keith's mother smiled as she spread her hands. I'm still sitting silent. I don't know what Keith's mother meant. Looking at me who was not moving at all, Mother Keith grabbed my arm to get closer. Hugged me. A warm embrace. I think if my mom was alive her embrace would feel like this.

"I know this is hard on you. You can share your burden on Keith and Iris. They'll help you, don't bear it yourself."

Keith's mother stroked my back. My eyes feel hot. Tears began to wash my cheeks. I remember all the suffering I had gone through. The death of my father, the ritual of transferring magic, losing my senses one by one, accepting the fact that Keith did not love me, Keith left me, Trevor who betrayed me, to be in a void. Keith's mother kept comforting me, completely ignoring the fact that I wasn't his son.

I'm trying to control myself. I catch my breath and wipe my tears.

"The reason I want you to call me Mother is so that you feel a mother's affection. I heard your mother died giving birth to you. I just wanted to remind you that your mother must love you."

I know my dad always reminds me that my mom always loved me. He was willing to risk his life to die for me. Dad was upset at having to lose the person he loved. However, once he saw my tiny self, he was determined to protect the relics of his loved ones.

There was a time when I missed my mother. I want to see his face. My father told me how my mother looked, then showed me my mother's painting. It can cure my longing. Even though I couldn't see it in person, pleasure ran through my heart.

I took off Keith's mother's arms."Thank you, Mother. You're so nice."

"To melt the atmosphere I'll tell you something."

I didn't answer just listening to him carefully. Curiosity tickled me, I can't wait to hear the story.

"Did you know that Keith aspires to be a hero?" keith's mother's story is excited.

"really?" I try to be surprised. Actually I'm not too surprised because from the beginning Keith was very good to everyone. He wants to help everyone. However, his nature like that can make people misunderstand, if Keith loves people who are given goodness. Like the old me.

"He always asked his father how to be a hero. Only powerful witches can protect the weak. That's how to be a hero. His father used this to encourage him to practice magic. Keith innocently obeyed his father."

I chuckled softly at Keith's Mother's story. The smile I showed Keith's mother this time was different than usual. This was a sincere smile with no coercion at all.

Suddenly Keith came in here. My smile faded quickly. I'm trying to cover up if I look happy to hear the story about Keith.

"It's a secret among women. You don't need to know" teased Keith's mother.

"Mom didn't ask anything weird, did she?"

"Of course not. You can ask Diana."

I wavered because Keith's mother suddenly asked my opinion. "We just had a normal conversation."

"All right then."

Silence was between the three of us. It was Keith's mother who broke this silence. "I'm done talking to Diana. Go enjoy your time together."

Keith looked at me for a moment and then looked at his mother. "We said goodbye to Mom."

I bowed while retreating. As soon as I got outside, Keith held onto my shoulder. "I'm sorry my mom, if anything is strange or hurts your heart, Diana."

"No, he's very kind, I'm very amused."

Keith looked at me fixedly, searching for the will in every word I said. His efforts were in vain, I said honestly.

Realizing that no lies were uttered Keith opened his voice. "You look tired, do you want to go home? Or meet Iris first?"

"I want to see Iris for a while and then go home."

Keith nodded, escorting me to the experimental room. Keith knocked on the door, before long Iris appeared.

"Sir Diana was here, did Sister Diana want to have a conversation with me?" Iris asked me as soon as I saw me. He looks excited. Keith's words were right, Iris was delighted when I came here.

"Other time, he's seen Mom. I'm sure Mom asked so many things that she exhausted Diana, "Keith replied in my place.

"Then next time I come here again I want to tell Sister Diana something."

"Well, I'll look forward to it, Iris" I replied.

I say goodbye to Iris. We were outside the Skyrise residence. Keith clasped my hand tightly like he had something to say.

"Can you get your carriage to go home to Diana herself?"

"Then how do I get back to my house? Did you tell me to stay here, Keith?"

It's too fast. Indeed, the lovers who stayed at the residence of their spouses are not strange in this kingdom, but I have not prepared myself. I don't know how to deal with this situation.

"No, I have something to show you."

There was no lie in Keith's eyes. I finally obeyed him. I asked the coachman to run the horse carriage back to the Moonlight residence without me.

As soon as we both stayed. Keith. I gasped directly at the neck. Put my eyes down. The ground, the place where our feet were getting away.

I saw Keith's face. He smiled wickedly. I spread my eyes around. We are in the sky. We flew.
