Retaliation of Disabled Girls
Chapter 36 Engagement of New Contract

Being in the workspace to work on documents is becoming my daily life now. There's no more laughing with Iris or Keith here. Ever since my engagement to Keith was cancelled, the Skyrise brothers have not come here. I also did not come there because I would remember their mother.

Then I heard Stella used to come to the Skyrise residence. He must be very happy because of his victory. No one bothered him anymore to get Keith. Keith could also have had his childhood love. I don't know if Keith thinks of Stella as a friend or a girl. He's totally unpredictable. From the way he treated Stella I thought he avoided her because of our engagement, but Keith's gaze back then was like one who loved his lover.

Or maybe I'm the one who can't tell the difference. Even after meeting Keith repeatedly, I misunderstood his feelings for me. He just did everything on contract no more.

In my life this time I was not angry with him. Although I could not reply to Keith I was sad or upset. He has suffered enough.

Now I feel lonely. I looked out the window. The derelict man I hired did his job well. No sign of lazing around. Even when I go head on tell me that guy has been working well.

Although it was boring I had to carry out my duty to look after the displaced people again. Eric ruled over the palace witch in place of nobles who felt tired or stricken by disasters like Keith. We had done a good job so Eric relieved us of our duties for more than a week from the time Keith's mother was critical to death.

This time I'll be alone guarding the abandoned man. I took a long breath. My days will be unattractive. The knocking of the door sounded. The butler came in and said something, "Miss, you have a guest. He's waiting in the living room."

Who her? Did Derek? Or even Iris? Or Keith? Whoever it is I have to see him.

"All right, I'll be there. Prepare snacks and tea for her."

"Good, Miss." The butler sat down, immediately went to carry out my orders.

I'm heading to the living room. The person sitting there is not what I expected. I didn't think he'd be here. My steps that had stopped, I continued back until I reached the seat in front of the man. I sat down while looking into the eyes of that person in astonishment.

"Why are you looking at me like that, Diana?" ask the man while squinting his eyes.

"I didn't think you'd come here Eric" I replied, tilting my head.

Eric hasn't been here in a long time. Last time was when my father was alive. He talked about something with the king.

"I heard that your engagement was canceled" he said in a low voice.

"That's right," I answered briefly. The fuselage spread very quickly.

"In that case, now I can approach you, right?"

Eric kept his word time. He meant to get my heart. I don't think it's wrong to give him a chance.

"Do as you please, Eric."

"Thank you, Diana." Eric smiled at me.

I returned his smile. I have to move forward, not look into my past. Eric and Keith's past deeds I'll try to forgive. I was so angry that I couldn't think clearly. All their deeds I think are wrong without looking at them from their side. However, for Trevor's actions I still can't forgive him.

"Did anyone give you a cover letter, Diana?" ask Eric.

"Nothing yet, I don't think the rumors about my engagement being cancelled have been widely circulated."

If so, there must be a lot of proposals approaching me. Derek will come here.

"Then, how about getting engaged, Diana?"

My eyes are enlarged. I haven't been able to answer, Eric continued, "Built contract only. I'll approach you slowly. If you really fall in love with me then this engagement is real. Otherwise you can cancel it at any time."

It's a good idea but something stuck in my heart. The contract engagement with Eric only benefits me. I could be free of those suitors, but he got nothing. "There's nothing I can give you, Eric. You already have everything."

"There's something I don't have yet: you, Diana. You can open your heart to me" he said softly.

I took a breath, steadying my mind. "Alright, we write the deal."

Eric nodded. Paper and pen drifted towards me. I wrote some terms similar to my contract engagement letter with Keith.

The first party and the second party agree to be engaged on condition:

1. Be harmonious in front of others.

2. The contractual terms of the first and second parties must help each other.

3. Either party may cancel the contract without the consent of the other party if there is a breach of the terms of the contract.

4. The first party comes to the palace once a week. The second party comes to the Moonlight residence once a week or when it is not busy.

5. Tell each other the situation. So that if one party experiences the other party's distress can help.

^^^First party: Diana Moonlight^^^

^^^Second party: Eric Sunborn^^^

There's no more giving money, because Eric doesn't need it. I'm handing this letter to Eric. He read it carefully. Then give it back to me.

"I agree, Diana."

"Then let's sign this."

We put a signature on this contract engagement letter. With this we are engaged.

Eric's big smile continued to expand. "With this I can hold your hand and embrace you right?" asked Eric timidly.

"Of course, in public when you're alone like this I still think of you as a friend, Eric." I'm putting this on him.

"All right, I know. I'm not gonna do anything. Thank you for giving me Diana's chance." She kept smiling even though I drew a line to her.

Now I'm the one who's limiting myself to her. All this time Eric created an invisible wall between us to keep my feelings in check. Burning with jealousy, he broke down that wall to get my love.

"No, Eric's problem."

"When are we dating?" ask him excitedly.

I put my finger on my temple to think. The festival I couldn't go to with Keith, it seemed like a good idea.

"How about a festival in the capital next week?" my proposal.

"Good idea, Diana. I'm going to your residence to pick you up" Eric replied excitedly.

"All right Eric."

I was happy, but there was less.

"From now on I'll take the time to come to your residence, Diana."

"I'm going to the palace too. Oh yeah, from tomorrow I'll take care of the abandoned man."

"Good, Diana. Actually I was hoping that the killer could be caught, but it looks like it will be difficult. Preventing it is no problem either."

Eric must have been really upset that he couldn't do anything. About that risky plan I might tell him during the festival. I he thought about it carefully. Hopefully with my plan he thinks of a better plan.

"I hope the murderer is arrested soon so that the Kingdom can return to peace" I said softly.

Eric nodded his farewell home. He held my hand when he came out of the living room. Smile on his lips. I try to smile. My heart is feeling restless.
