Chapter 18 Belief

"Try it if you can. Our contract engagement will not be canceled if it is not the party concerned who canceled it" I replied cynically.

Stella grunts annoyed. "You're just looking for each other's benefits. It will ultimately hurt each other. Better just cancel your engagement, Diana."

That's true, but what if I don't want to? What are you going to do, Stella? Your actions are in vain. Just ask Keith to cancel our engagement. Although I'm sure it's also a difficult thing, because Keith still needs my money.

"Make Keith call off our engagement. That's the only way your goal can be achieved" my challenge.

"Alright, I accept your challenge Diana. I hope you won't regret it" Stella said.

I won't regret my decision Stella. Let's see who wins in this challenge.

"I don't know if you guys turned out to be close" said someone suddenly.

Me and Stella answered simultaneously while looking towards that person. "We're not close!" 

Keith gasped at our answer. "While it is better if you are close," he said.

That's not good at all Keith. I hate this girl and vice versa. The reason we didn't get along is because of you.

"My business here is over, until we meet again, Diana," said Stella. There was no hospitality coming from him for me.

I smiled fakely replying, "Be careful on the road, Stella, see you."

"You're going home yet?" ask Keith to Stella.

"Right, I don't want to interrupt your time, Keith. Besides, my interest here is in order" replied Stella.

"Be careful on the road, Stella."

Stella replied to Keith with a smile. He left us alone. I don't know what Keith was thinking when he saw Stella getting away and leaving the residence.

Keith sat in front of me. He opened his mouth but refused to say anything. I snapped and tapped my fingers on my arm. Why did Keith come here?

"What need did you come here for, Keith?" my many.

"Witch killings are increasing, Diana. I think the King told you that, "Keith hesitated.

Eric hasn't told me about this. He's still hiding something from me. Even though we were friends, he was closed to me. I tried to offer her help, but she refused. 

The witch killer must be arrested immediately. I'll secretly arrest him even if Eric doesn't ask for my help. I'll find out who killed me in the past and who's repeating time other than myself. What's the reason the killer repeats time? I'll ask him.

"I just heard this," I answered briefly.

"Be careful, Diana. We don't know who the next target is. It's a random murder." Keith looked worried. He clasped both hands tightly.

"Thank you, Keith. I'll protect myself, then Iris and your mother will protect me too" I said to appease Keith.

He had taken the risk of leaving his mother and sister for a while to tell me. It never hurts to return the favor. It's not just for her, I attach great importance to the safety of Iris and her mother.

"Thank you, Diana. In this situation we need to work together to protect each other. I think the King will soon have a witch meeting to discuss the witch's murder" Keith said.

If Keith's conjecture was correct, the situation was absolutely precarious. Eric runs out of ways to catch the killer and asks others for help. If so, this will benefit me even more. The more information Eric reported, the closer I got to the killer. Eric will spread the information he gets to the other witches. I can catch it easily. Unexpectedly, two witches wearing official royal robes came to my garden. One of them took out a paper roll. Then read the contents.

"This is the King's command. Tomorrow will be a meeting of the witches in the royal hall. The head of the noble family of witches is expected to come, Miss Moonlight. Since you are here as well, we are conveying the same, the Skyrise Family Head must also come, Sir."

"We are ready to obey the King's orders." We both looked down and answered simultaneously.

"Thank you for both of you. We retreat first." Those two royal witches left me and Keith.

Keith shrugged both of his shoulders hinting 'Truely not my guess.' I tapped my finger at the table. That witch killer I'm gonna teach you a lesson for underestimating me and the Moonlight family.

"Have you heard any other information about the witch's killer, Keith?"

"No, I just hear more and more victims are falling."

It is indeed difficult to get the information of the investigation if it does not enter into the members of the royal witch. The head of the family only got information from the news of the birds circulating.

I stroked my chin. "Once you go, the full information will be revealed by Eric tomorrow."

I was about to say that, but Keith could already guess. It's been two people who know of our contract engagement. I don't want people who know more and more. I think my attitude to keep my distance from Keith should be corrected. 

"That's right, Keith." I smile.

Keith stood up, kissed my hand. He just wants to be friendly with me. I think he's gonna do this to Stella, too. Keith left me alone in the garden. I walked slowly to enjoy this peace. The trouble will start to happen.
