Tarnished Before Accident

Tarnished Before Accident
Chapters 16. Wedding Plan

I thought when the male doctor told me to sit on the edge of the gurney where Rey was lying there. The plastic chair was dragged closer to me, then my legs were stretched out on it.

"We clean up first. The wound is not very serious, but it must be treated immediately so as not to get infected." The doctor told the female nurse to prepare the equipment, help me clean the very dirty feet before being treated by applying ointment and bandaging it using a bandage.

My lips sizzled a little when the wounds on the soles of my feet were exposed to the antiseptic fluid applied by the female nurse. Although not too serious, there was still a sense of pain when the tear in my leg was cleaned of small pebbles and dust grains.

I turned my face away from the sight, but unconsciously my gaze was on Rey. The man's face looked solemnly watching the nurse who was dealing with my injuries. Both of his eyebrows furrowed with a wavy frowning forehead.

"Is it so bad? Check it properly! I don't want anything you guys miss when you check. She's pregnant. Don't let the wound affect the mother and her fetus."

The man was always angry. In fact, nurses and doctors who have helped did not escape the tantrums.

I just shook my head slowly, trying not to hiss or complain of pain. The presence of Rey increasingly makes a scene. A man is more chatty than a woman.

I waited for about twenty minutes until the surface of my feet was wrapped in a thick bandage. I feel like this is overkill. I look more like a man who just had a terrible accident than slipping gravel and rocks due to running without wearing footwear. My view deliberately leads to Rey, glaring at her as a form of protest. But the man seemed to not care.

The doctor and nurse resigned after finishing examining Rey and treating my wounds. Now we both live in this room. My head lowered, staring at the wound on my leg that had been covered by a thick bandage as ordered by Rey. I don't know what the man meant to tell the nurse to do it.

"I've contacted your boss. From tomorrow until the next four days you are closed."

"Four days?" I was surprised by the number of days Rey said.

Hey, that's the same as cutting my salary for free.

"Why four days? Lukaku is not that bad. I've had enough days off." I showed my disapproval to him. Not a husband yet, but he loves to manage me.

"Four days or resign forever."

I snort. There's no way I'm quitting my job. I had to raise a lot of money, especially when we decided to split up after this child was born.

"But, Brother Rey, what excuse will I give to my superiors?" If it was just because of the foot blisters I had to take a day off, wouldn't that be a very unreasonable reason? Am I the son of the sultan who can be spoiled only because he has a small wound in the leg?

My eyeballs are twisting, he's getting annoying. "Yes, okay, boss! But, change my four-day salary."

"No!" the answer is firm and cannot be rebutted. I glanced at him annoyed, eager to strangle his neck right now. There is no one. Comforting people, but not taking responsibility. "Now out! Someone's picking you up in front."

In fact, he didn't seek my approval when he asked me to come home. Not asking, rather telling. I came down from the gurney, set my feet in a thick bandage. A little difficulty I stand, but still able to balance the body. My feet swung towards the door. And before I opened the door lever, Rey stopped me.

"We'll meet tomorrow in front of the penghulu."

Deg.

My heart suddenly thumped. Rey isn't fooling around with her word. I thought the man was going to resign the wedding day considering he was hurt, but he wasn't. He kept running according to what he told me before.

I didn't respond. Despite the mixed feelings she made, I chose not to turn my head and immediately opened the door to exit the treatment room. According to what Rey said, in front of the door stood a man while bowing a little when he saw me.

"Miss, I was ordered by Mr. Reynan to escort you back to the hotel."

I nodded without speaking, then stepped away following the man who would drive me back to the hotel according to what Rey's sister had ordered.

My eyes looked at the ceiling of the room when this body was already lying on the soft hotel mattress. The clock was two o'clock in the morning, but sleepiness never crept on me. Though previously I had fallen asleep in front of the operating room while waiting for the process of removal of the bullet in Kak Rey's body was completed. However, it is different from the present. My eyes are actually awake and difficult to close even though to just pick up the minpi.

My uneasiness grew when I recalled Rey's words before I left the room. We'll meet tomorrow in front of you. That means my marriage with her is in sight. My heart suddenly claustrophobic realize that tomorrow I will legitimately be the honey of my own brother, becoming the third person who might ruin Sister Rena's happiness. Although my relationship with Rey is just a status, it still is. Which woman is willing to be combined, especially with her own brother.

I closed my eyes tightly, trying to ignore the pain in the corner of my heart of destiny that had overturned my future. I don't know what will happen in the future. I can only prepare myself for this as best I can, facing even the worst of possibilities.
