Tarnished Before Accident

Tarnished Before Accident
Chapter 26. Smile!

Tonight when the full moon was shining brightly, I sat on the balcony of the room alone. Both of my hands were coiled, tightly hugging my two bent legs. Sepi took over all the runyam, bringing the calm that I dreamed of since morning.

My gaze was blankly gazing upwards, where the sky was clear as the bright moonlight had been dotted with glittering stars, scattered to pamper the eyes.

There was one star alone; so small, dim, and neglected. The little star looked pitiful, just like me. My hand was stretched out upwards as if it was eager to reach a star that had the same fate as me. I wanted to talk to him, tell him a story.

"Hi, don't be sad! You're not alone. We are the same" I whispered.

This morning was obviously very painful for me. Who me? Where am I from? Where are my parents? Are they still alive?

I rubbed my stomach still flat. In my heart I promised myself. I will fight for him. I won't let anyone else take it, no matter how good they are. Because I am sure, only parents are truly affectionate and sincere in love with their children.

I don't want him to be the same fate as me. He will be a great boy and will not lack affection.

"Hi!"

I turned my head when I saw a glass of milk stuck out in front of my face. Rey came by rolling her shirt arm around her elbow while carrying a glass of milk in hand.

I smiled faintly, receiving the milk from his hand. His new habit was to wait for me to drink the milk until it ran out in front of his eyes.

"Heem, it's over" I said, shaking the empty glass forward.

He sat down beside me, then stretched out a handkerchief to wipe the milk marks on my lips. It is also a new habit. I couldn't resist when the man did.

I think Rey looks sweet. Unfortunately, he's a man's husband.

"Are you okay?" Rey asked after putting the handkerchief back in her pants pocket.

"Heem, fine." I looked back to the front, where the view of the night sky stretched up there. We didn't talk to each other afterwards, just sitting together and leaning each other's backs on the long sofa located on the balcony of the room.

A breeze blew there, wiggling right and left branches and branches of trees, accompanying us both who were still in silence. In the end, Rey said something.

"I actually know."

Kak Rey's voice broke the silence that had been created between us. I looked towards him. The man looked unmoved with a look not turning to the charm of the night sky.

"What does Rey know?"

"You and Rena are not siblings. You guys don't have blood ties."

Of course I'm surprised to hear Rey's words. The man looked relaxed when he said that. Unlike me who from the beginning was still so shocked by the reality I just knew.

"What?"

"At that time I just came home from work and will meet Rena who just returned from vacation. But, who would have thought God instead showed a foolish girl who wanted to end her life by jumping off a bridge."

"Sir Rey!" gumamku.

He continued to speak, I observed every move of his lips. "When you said that I was pregnant, my mind was suddenly deadlocked. I didn't expect that night to end like this. I feel like my life is coming to an end. You know, no, I love Rena so much. How could I possibly tell this reality to Rena?"

I-i understand. It's very difficult for Rey to go through all this. I choose to resign whatever decision Kak Rey in the future.

"But I can't ignore you either. Ever since that night, my life has never been quiet. Even with Rena, I can't forget what happened that night. Do you know what, Alea?" He suddenly asked me a question.

"Heem, what?" I said respond.

"When I found out there was no blood relation between you, I decided to marry you. And the second we were declared legal as a married couple, my heart just felt a relief."

I'm shaking. Obviously, he was late then. In fact, if slower still may this marriage never happen. "liks. You're two hours late."

Instead of being angry, he chuckled. "Yes, you should have scolded the doctor. They locked me up, didn't let me go. I threatened to blow up the hospital if I wasn't allowed to go."

"Huh?" I almost laughed when I heard it. Crazy one! Rey's sister is completely insane. His attitude sometimes makes no sense.

"My men have prepared his heli over the hospital building so that I don't get stuck in traffic. Damn, I didn't find a heli pad near where we were married."

"Then?" I became enthusiastic about the story. I turned all my attention aside, staring at the strange figure beside me at this moment. Obviously not finding a heli runway. We got married in a suburban area away from tall buildings. There were only houses lined up irregularly.

"We're looking for a football field. Thankfully, the heli finally got off safely. The thing is, I was confused to get to the mosque where we were going to have our wedding."

I can't imagine how panicked Rey was at the time. It's only right that he didn't answer my call at all.

"Then, Rey's sister got on a motorcycle taxi?" guess I'm kind of inquisitive.

In the second that Rey nodded, I laughed, a crisp laugh that I had not done in a long time. I covered my mouth with my palm after realizing that my laughter was a little outrageous.

He smiled at me, stretched out his hand to rub my head. "Smile, Alea! You are beautiful when you smile" she said later.

At that time, I was sure my face met red after hearing his words.
