Not because of a place that makes it far away. However, they themselves are moving away from each other. Not because they change, but the time that makes them change. When each problem is only viewed with one side, then there is no such thing as self-introspection, but only mutual self-righteousness.
I just kept quiet at the boundary of the door, staring at how Kak Rena's attitude blatantly scolded Rey. Sis Rena who is always graceful, easy to smile, turns like a hungry lioness who is ready to pounce on prey when dealing with her husband.
"Rey, I'm your wife. How can you not support the project I'm working on?" Brother Rena said in a high tone. I saw the emotion that started to ignite in him.
"I told you already. Release him! You won't get anything out of the project. But you won't listen to me. How many billions have been spent, but you're still unconscious."
"Oh, so now you start counting with me? Is it because there is Alea? Do you feel great about two women already fighting over?" Sis Rena shoved Kak Rey's chest, but the man just kept silent not fighting back. "You've changed, Rey! Everything you've promised me is bullshit!"
I don't know apparently Kak Rey's attitude has always been soft towards Kak Rena. He seemed to hold back anger when Sis Rena insulted him. Maybe his overflowing love blinds him to Kak Rena's rude attitude.
"I agree to your marriage to Alea, but that doesn't mean I accept. Until then I won't share my husband with anyone, including Alea. He pretends to be hurt, but he really just wants to get your sympathies. Want luxury from you. Are you aware? The child he contains is only a means to get your treasure."
"Enough, Rena! It wasn't Alea who changed me. But your own attitude. Here's your ugliness. You never want self-introspection, always blame others."
Sis Rena did not accept, interrupting Kak Rey's words. "And now you are questioning my attitude? Rey, you've never done this to me before. I'm sure Alea has poisoned your mind. Is he teasing you? He's trying to get your attention? Say it!"
"What's wrong with flirting with your husband?" Brother Rey turned to defend me in front of Sister Rena. I didn't expect that. "At least he's better than you at treating your husband. Now ask yourself. Almost five months we've been married, how many times have you been willing to do your duty as a wife? Do you have time to take care of me? It's time to just work and hang out with your social friends. Do you feel good about being a wife?"
"Rey, we've already discussed this. I'm a career woman. Don't compare with Alea who can only spend your money. You've agreed to my busy life taking care of the company. Why are you saying that I'm guilty now?"
Brother Rey chuckles. "So, you feel I'm wrong. I'm a husband who doesn't want to understand your condition?" He walked around Sis Rena. His expression changed as he continued his sentence. "I've offered you an executive to help with your work, but you turned it down for no reasonable reason."
"I don't believe in the abilities of others." Rena is back to interrupting.
"Oh, great. Just keep your ego. I allowed you because I didn't want to restrain you, but what did you do? You are losing direction. Unbeknownst to me you were contraceptive, always rejecting me on the grounds of being tired. Perhaps, it's good that you marry an unemployed person."
"Rey!"
"I'm tired, Rena. I'm tired of understanding you. We better get this whole thing done."
Sis Rena increasingly emotional hearing the words of Rey. Turns out he's worse than I imagined. "You dumped me for Alea? I don't believe in any of this." Brother Rena shook her head. "Until any time I won't budge with him."
"I said, don't throw your mistakes at someone else! This has nothing to do with Alea." Finally Rey spoke in a voice that was no less high until Kak Rena was surprised and jumped from his position.
"Alea!" Accidentally after talking to Sister Rena, Rey saw me. I who from the beginning only dared to peek was forced to show myself.
Rena looked at me annoyed. I know he hates me so much right now. Especially this time I got caught eavesdropping on their conversation.
"You're now turning into a hustler, aren't you?" Sister Rena grimaces. His gaze led to the bag I was carrying. He violently grabbed the bag, then opened it. "What did you feed my husband?"
"You can cook well, can't you? Rey doesn't eat food like this."
"Rena, you better go. You've wasted a lot of my time."
"Rey!"
"I'll call Security."
Rena's sister puffed up, clenched her hands down, and looked at me with annoyance. I did not respond, just silent while carrying the lunchbox that was in a mess. He immediately left after stomping his feet, then slammed the door.
My eyes blinked, bent down to take the bag of supplies that had been dropped by Kak Rena, took the lid of the lunchbox in the bag. I'm repackaging supplies for Rey, intending to bring her home. However, just as my steps swung, Brother Rey called out to me.
"Who told you to go?"
"I ...."
"Bring here my food! I've been hungry since." Rey said as she landed her butt on the swivel chair.
"But, this is a mess" I said unwillingly Kak Rey saw the food I made look disheveled.
"Just be wild. I'm hungry." He pulled out another chair, positioning it right next to him. "Sit here. I'm so busy. Please help me eat it!"
I smiled faintly, then nodded slowly. "okay!"
Immediately I sat down next to him, taking a spoon to feed him. Rey is still busy in front of the computer that lights up, playing her fingers on the keyboard keys with great agility. His face looked solemnly observing every code that I did not understand at all.
I slowly bribed him. Rey doesn't mind the messy appearance of my food at all. He just opened his mouth and chewed on the food slowly.
"Have you eaten?" he asked after swallowing a bribe from me.
I'm shaking. Had not had time to eat because it immediately rushed to deliver supplies here.
"Then eat. It can be eaten both."
"But, I only brought one spoon," I said as I raised the next bribe.
"No problem. We have not kissed often. Eating with the same spoon won't cause poisoning."
Oh, why does Rey also discuss kissing. In fact, he was very relaxed about saying the thing that I felt was very vulgar. I'm sure my face is now as red as boiled shrimp because I heard the unfiltered words first.
