Part 3's. The First Audition 2
Amidst my shock saw Nicholai standing behind the appraiser team. Our director Philippe Moris is moving forward.
"Everything, we'll go straight today. The top three assessment then went straight to the pairing test with Nicholai Manturov, he happened to want to shift his schedule early. You guys get ready we'll take the lottery soon." I looked at Nicholai, the same time he saw me, the corner of his lips slightly raised. I think I'm hallucinating now, does this mean my opponent is bigger.
"Ohh we go straight to the top three assessment?" Matthew raised an eyebrow.
"It's gonna be more thrilling." I'm pounding, maybe Nicholai will help me. I really hope for this.
Our dance assessments will be split each time two couples perform. I got the last session, I let out a long sigh, doing my best in this solo dance hoping to get at least a good place in the eyes of the Director and the senior principals who are already choreographers.
"You're good Sara, you're definitely going in the top three."
"I hope so. I really want this."
My heart grew faster when I saw the director and senior principal discussing when our performance was over.
"All right come together, we'll announce." David Osborne, the dance stylist who will become the project's dance stylist gathered 12 dancers. I saw to Nicholai what he gave me a sign. But he seems to be talking to the others.
"That escaped first Sonya, second Michelle and last..." Please tell me my name, please... "The last one is Sara." I almost jumped in excitement, but I could only squeeze tightly into Matthew's hand, one step was done.
"I told you you were good." Matthew smiled at me. I smiled back at him.
"I desperately need this after I failed at All Balanchine. More need to get up to the principal." Matthew knows my difficulties sometimes he helps me, I owe him a lot. But I know I can't expect anyone else to solve my problems.
"Alright, the stage 2 assessment will be done at 2 after lunch."
We disbanded, this time I brought this good news to Nicole who had finished rehearsal. He's got a show tonight.
"You know the truth I've met Nicholai...." I told Nicole what happened two days ago.
"Good God, is he really so kind. This should be your plus. You guys have been training together even for a short time."
"He just helped you?" Matthew seemed to be in disbelief.
"Yes, he's not very nice." Matthew said nothing.
"May he choose you because he knows you." Nicole said the same thing.
"I don't know, I hope so, I don't know I'm so pounding." I hope I can live up to his expectations.
2 O'clock is coming soon, and this time I'm on my first turn. We're ready, Nicholai come to me now. We met in the middle of the studio amid the gaze of the Director and dance stylist who will judge besides of course Nicholai himself will be taken into account his voice.
"Just trust me like we did before, .." this time he spoke softly. We walked into the middle of the studio, I was still very hopeful about what would happen but did not dare to ruin the atmosphere.
"As before..."
"You're gonna win this." That one sentence was enough to make my heart soar with excitement. I looked.
"You're serious." Of course I have to make sure what I hear. With a slow voice and a curious look I asked again. "I'm gonna win?"
