I finished my show and went downstairs, some of the men who were stunned by our action tried to get us to talk and I subtly refused and quickly went back.
Unlike ballet that values dancers with standing ovations or a bouquet of flowers, here they appreciate you by asking you out.
Remove my make up immediately, and change my clothes. And put on a small earpiece, to listen to Tommy's instructions if needed. With a microphone hidden in my chest Thomas could also listen to what we were talking about.
And down to the bar. Nicholai was waiting for me there.
"Nic, how are you." I hugged him a little. He smiled at me, there was a guilty feeling to him I would lie to him like this, he had helped me when I was down, but we were just doing our job, whatever happened was because we were working, no matter what, besides who's looking after Mom if I don't do this, I suppress my guilt and smile at her.
"Good, as you can see. How's your mom doing?"
"He's in Virginia now." I'll just say he's in Virginia, hang up my answer with a sad face so he asks first.
"In Virginia? Why is he in Virginia?" He's asking now.
"Yes, I have to work and study in LA. She's not around to keep her from having problems in her heart, so someone has to take care of her so she goes to Auntie's."
"His heart is troubled?"
"Yes." Yeah." I put on a sad face. He looked at me, thinking for a second. "She just got an attack and the doctor suggested a ring."
"You're gonna need a lot of money now." He immediately summed up my story unsuspecting.
"Yes that's how."
"Francoise, not necessarily, it was a one-night incident how I could contact him again. After all he and I are just one-night stories. After that he didn't call me anymore. Uhmm actually there was ... when I wanted to go to LA, but I decided to ignore it. You know I felt like he just wanted to have a friend at the time, so obviously I avoided him, I didn't want to feel taken advantage of." These are all lies of course, I have to show my relationship the way it should be.
"That's great..." Tommy said in my ear. I can't ask for free any job should she ask me. That's what Tommy said.
"What do you mean it's good?" I'm astonished.
"You want a job like yesterday?" I looked at Nicholai in surprise.
"Whatchu mean? A job like yesterday?" I pretended to be rude when I knew what it meant
"Francoise..." Nicholai made his words clear, while I looked at him with an expression of disbelief.
"Call back, tell me you can't call her all of a sudden." Thomas's voice echoed in my ear.
"No.no, I can't. How could I have intentionally called him that way. What should I say, you made me like I was peddling my body to her. I don't love her dead, what's the reason I called her and she must have suspected me."
Nicholai smiled immediately.
"We can arrange a coincidence for that. Don't worry." Nicholai answered immediately, while I felt it seemed that he came with a team of many people so that he could manage things easily.
"A coincidence?" He was quick to set his way, if you think about it now all Nicholai did was use our friendship to achieve his goals.
I'd better not be sentimental, he'll use me. I'll use him too.
