The Unexpected Twist

Nora looked at the calendar hanging on the wall of her room. Today is Thursday, and tonight is a blessed Friday night. He stood in front of the mirror, admiring the light blue dress patterned with white spots that he was wearing. The dress gave a cheerful and sweet impression to her appearance. She loves the thin layer of fabric that covers her neck and sleeves, giving her a glamorous and graceful feel. She also loves the tassels that adorn her wrists, giving a feminine and dynamic touch. She tied her waist with ribbons, making her skirt expand above the knees, accentuating her beautiful, well-proportioned silhouette. 

Today he will attend a company party hosted by Yudha's father, his little friend. The company is PT. Forward Together, a small company often accused of relying solely on the power of the Giovanni family and Giselle, the brothers who are also friends of Nora. Many of the invited guests were clients of Giovanni and Giselle's father's company.

"Good night, dear guests. I am very happy and grateful for all of you on this special night. Tonight, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company I built with you, PT. Forward Together. Therefore, I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your contribution, loyalty and trust in this company. I would also like to thank our partners, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders who have supported and worked with the company over the years. I hope we can continue to establish a good and mutually beneficial relationship in the future. Tonight, let's have some fun and enjoy the party I've prepared for all of you. I hope you can feel the happiness and pride that I feel right now. Once again, welcome to PT's birthday party. Forward Together."

Nora heard Yudha's father's welcome with a faint smile on her lips. He saw his hand raise a glass filled with chocolate soda as a sign of toast. The invited guests raised their glasses and cheered, then drank the contents.

Nora only smiled as some of the invited guests invited her to join in their conversation. He was mixed but didn't say much. He is not focused on business or other formal matters. He only wanted to find Yudha and Giselle whom he had not seen since arriving here.

“Nora.”

He looked back and saw Giovanni looking at him coldly. The man doesn't seem interested in being here or having a problem. The look in his eyes showed the anger being held back. However, what made Nora confused was her left cheek that looked red.

“Lo slapped who?” asked Nora without further ado. He knew the man was not easily intimidated by anyone.

Giovanni looked at Nora with annoyance. He pointed at the girl's face with his finger as he said, “This is all because of your best friend! Do you know where ****** is now?!”

Nora frowned. He could have been angry, but he realized there were still many people watching them. If he continued this quarrel, it could have harmed both of their families. He looked at Giovanni with the pain in his stomach. Suddenly menstrual pain reappeared.

He pulled Giovanni's hand to a quieter spot. He looked at the face of the man who looked fed up with Giselle. He did not know what was going on so he looked angry.

“Why did you take Giselle to me? Lo that brother should know better than me,” said Nora by pushing Giovanni's body with one finger.

"Gue's brother? Bullshits! I never wanted to have a brother like him. He's just a burden to me, Nora. He's the reason I'm like a gini" Giovanni said, shaking the girl's forehead. The look on his face clearly showed a sense of annoyance as well as anger.

Nora just nodded as she said, “He's a burden to you? The burden you mean he is spoiled. Not spoiled to your own brother or family is not wrong. He just wants you to assume he exists, Brother Gio.”

Giovanni could only shake his head while bitterly laughing. He looked at the people who were passing around them with a cynical look. Those people will never understand him, will never feel what he feels. Only Ervin, his best friend and adopted sister, always understood and supported him. In this world, he only had Ervin.

Nora stared at Giovanni's departure with a long sigh. He was eager to help Giovanni, but what if the man only said things that were unclear? He had no idea what was really going on in Giovanni's family, what made him so depressed and upset. Eventually he chose to honor Giovanni's secret and asked no further questions.

Nora returned to the party crowd. He was fascinated to see a stunning performance from his best friend, Yudha. The man seemed to be playing the violin gracefully, but the sound of the music was heartbreaking.

Nora who is a person long enough to dabble in the world of music, knows very well the meaning of the song. The song sounds very painful when heard with the heart. He looked at the sad gaze that Yudha gave during the game with a fake smile.

Under the stage, there was Giselle who was looking at Yudha grievingly. The girl seemed to not accept if her lover looked like that. He thought he had missed something so big today.

Nora walked over to her best friend with a sigh. He carried Giselle's body into his arms. Instantly the girl's tears just came down with her trembling body holding back her sobs.

"Don't be sad again, Gis. Lo kayak gini makes Yudha sad. I know you have a problem, but at least you should be able to make Yudha happy again with your cheerful nature" whispered Nora by patting her best friend's back.

Giselle let go of his embrace. The girl smiled by wiping her falling tears. He continued to look at Yudha who was playing the violin with a bright smile until the music game was over.

After the music game was over there was not a single person clapping. Giselle first clapped with Nora who was accompanying the applause. Finally, the guests also applauded.

"Just play the violin? My son can also play the violin and even other musical instruments."

"Haha, yeah. Her child can only play it not like your child is also Nora the daughter of Madame Rayna."

"Not only that! He was even greatly defeated by his fiancee brother! Good at organizing as well as cleverness he was greatly defeated by Madam Rayna's son as well as Mr. Skyden."

The sound of laughter and ridicule echoed in Yudha's ears. He felt like he was trapped in an endless nightmare. The words of the invited guest caused Yudha to lower her face with a pale face. He looked at the father who saw him angry. He won't know until when it's over.

"Haha, that's right! Even she is so unequal to my daughter."
