The Unexpected Twist
Many Misconceptions

Nora walked lethargicly towards her classroom. He did not feel any spirit to face today. He just wants to finish his crazy plan with Giselle, his best friend who always has strange ideas. Plans to make Ervin, the guy he likes, jealous by playing other guys.

He had just passed the classroom door, when Giselle greeted him cheerfully. The girl ran towards him and pulled her hand to sit next to him. Nora complied, then slapped her face on the table.

"Why, Ra? How did the guy get jealous or not?" Giselle asked curiously, without giving Nora a chance to breathe.

Nora raised her face and shook her head weakly. He let out a long sigh, as if he wanted to take out all the burdens that were on his chest. Giselle sighed, then hugged her shoulder in sympathy. The two of them were silent for a moment, immersed in each other's thoughts.

In a corner of another class, Yudha observed them with a cynical look. He could not believe that his girlfriend and his best friend were doing such a cruel thing. The two of them were playing with the feelings of others, without thinking about the consequences. Moreover, this idea came from Giselle, the girl who should have best understood what it was like to be hurt.

Yudha was fed up and angry. He could no longer bear to see the scene. He got up from his chair and walked out of class. He patted Nora on the shoulder before leaving, gesturing for the girl to follow him. He has to talk to Nora and make her realize that this plan is wrong.

"Why, Yud?" Nora asked in surprise, as she caught up with Yudha in the corridor.

Nora just smiled faintly. He knew that Yudha was a realistic and wise man, but he also knew that Yudha did not understand what was really going on. Actually Nora did not intend to play with Ervin's feelings, instead the opposite. He really liked Ervin and wanted to approach him in any way. He only took advantage of Giselle's misunderstanding to make his plans easier. In addition, he also had other reasons to involve Ervin in this plan. The reasons are related to Gendis, the woman who has ruined her family.

Giselle's voice called out to Yudha from the classroom. Yudha turned her head and saw Giselle waving her hand. He smiled and ran back to his class. He hopes that today there will be no more problems.

At rest, Nora looks for Ervin again, but this time she is accompanied by Giselle. The two of them drank the milk box while peering towards the tenth grade corridor. There, they see Ervin playing basketball with his friends.

Nora looked at Ervin attentively. He loved everything about Ervin, from his disheveled black hair, his sharp brown eyes, his perfect nose, his thin red lips, to his athletic tall stout body. He also likes Ervin's kind, intelligent, and responsible nature. He was convinced that Ervin was his dream boy.

But Nora is not alone in admiring Ervin. On the sidelines of the basketball court, many other students also watched the game. Most of them are girls who are fascinated by Ervin. And among them, there was one person who stood out the most. Joy, the beautiful girl who has just been close to Ervin the last few days.

Nora felt jealous and annoyed at Joy. He does not like the way Joy always tries to approach Ervin for various reasons. He also dislikes Joy's sweet-ass attitude and attention to Ervin. He is convinced that Joy only wants to use Ervin for his popularity.

Nora decided to take action. He walked onto the basketball court confidently. He wanted to show Ervin that he deserved more to be with him than Joy. But fate is not on his side. As soon as he entered the court, a basketball drifted towards him quickly. He didn't get away and the ball hit his foot hard.

"Ouch!" Nora screamed in pain, then squatted holding her leg.

Nora who saw could only sigh in anger and silence. He knew nothing more to react to, like what. Especially to calm Gissel because the girl's handler was busy meeting OSIS. He could hear a debate by his teacher with one of the students. He only heard if the teacher scolded the class leader of the person playing because he did not tell the other students not to go into the field just look outside.

Nora tried to massage her legs which were still throbbing pain. He stared at the field with sweat running down his face. One person was not kind enough to help him to the UKS or at least his classroom. Gissel now can not be expected because since it was crying bitterly when the basketball hit him.

“Please, one person only. I am not spoiled but this is a pain for forgiveness,” Nora prayed in her heart, while trying to stand by supporting her body on her knees.

Suddenly, he felt someone lift his body from behind. He was shocked and spontaneously wrapped his arm around the person's neck. He turned his head and looked at Ervin's worried-looking face. He could smell the masculine and refreshing fragrance of Ervin's perfume.

Nora was happy and relieved. Someone finally cares about him. And that person was Ervin, the guy she had loved for a long time. Even though they were half-siblings, Nora did not care. He believes that his love is true love.

Nora restrained the smile by hiding her face on the man's shoulders. He forgot about Gissel and Joy trailing behind him. It feels like forever wanting to be a special person from that man and get his love even if they are stepbrothers. However, even if circumstances play tricks on them it will defy that bad destiny.

Ervin took Nora to the UKS cautiously. He felt guilty for not being able to protect Nora from the basketball. He also felt confused by the feeling that had arisen in his chest when he saw Nora in pain. He cannot deny that Nora is a beautiful and sweet girl, but he also cannot forget that Nora is his half-sister.

Ervin put Nora on the UKS mattress gently. He took off Nora's shoes and socks, then checked her swollen feet. He saw Nora grimacing in pain, then placed her hand on Nora's forehead to ensure her temperature was normal.

“Still sick?” Ervin asked gently, while looking into Nora's beautiful eyes.

Nora did not reply with words, only a small nod while sneering comically. Ervin smiled faintly, then removed his hand from Nora's forehead. But before she could leave, Nora pulled her hand again and looked at her with a pleading gaze.

Ervin was silent at Nora's words. He doesn't know what to say. Actually he was not angry at Nora, only he felt awkward with Nora's attitude that was too close to him. Especially after the incident in the cafeteria, when Nora said romantic words to him in front of many people. I'm not sure if it was just a joke or something serious. Coupled with this moment, when Nora was being sweet and spoiled towards him, made him unable to bear it. He wanted to get away from Nora, but he also could not bear to see Nora hold back.

Ervin decides to sit at the end of the bed, letting Nora hold his hand. He lowered his head and looked outwards, trying to distract him. But again he was made to tremble by Nora. Nora brought her head closer to her shoulders and leaned there.

Ervin felt his heartbeat racing. He can't control himself anymore. He wanted to hug Nora and kiss her affectionately. But he knew it was wrong. They are stepbrothers. They can't be together.

Outside the UKS, there were two people watching the scene with different feelings. Giselle is happy and proud of her best friend. He knows that this is part of Nora's plan to get Ervin's heart. He hopes that the plan works and Nora can make Ervin hurt because his mother had messed with the Nora family.

But Joy is angry and envious of Nora. He did not like to see Nora who was so close to Ervin. He also did not like to see Ervin who was so attentive to Nora. He is convinced that Nora only wants to snatch Ervin from him for his popularity.

Joy can't just shut up. He had to stop the scene. He walked into the UKS room bravely, then said in a cynical tone, “Kak Nora is here to be treated, right? If so take off Ervin's hand first.”
