Nora checked her watch nervously. It was four in the afternoon, but the music room was still quiet. There are only a few people who have come for the first meeting of extracurricular management of music in 2023/2024. Nora was annoyed by the delay of her members. This shows their lack of sense of responsibility and passion.
Nora stood guard at the door of the music room. He looked one by one at his members who entered casually, as if he did not care about time. Nora refrained from getting angry. He decided to set a time limit until 16:25 again. If anyone had not come, he would not have allowed them to attend the meeting.
“All seated circular here!” nora's orders were firm. “No one crowding anywhere else!”
His members hurried to fulfill his orders. They sat in a circle in the middle of the room, without speaking. Nora looked at them sharply. He counted their numbers quickly.
“New 32 people present,” muttered Nora unhappily. “And we have 37 people in this department. Coordinator of each division, check your members attendance!”
Nora opened the notebook in her hand. He wrote the names of the members present and absent. He plans to sanction those who are not present for no reason.
“OK, your discussion time is up,” Nora said after a few minutes. “Now we start the meeting. We will hear reports from the musical instrument, vocal, performance, public relations, and documentation divisions in turn. Explain the reason for your member's delay or absence clearly. If not, I assume they have no description.”
Nora listened carefully to the reports of the coordinators of each division. He noted the reasons they gave. Some are sick, some have family affairs, some forget, and some are lazy. Nora felt annoyed at that last reason. He decided to give it a chance this time, because this is the first meeting. But if it repeats itself, it will not certify those who are inactive.
“Alright,” says Nora after all reports are done. “Coordinator of each division, please arrange your members well. This meeting is important to design our music extracurricular work program for this year. This is not a race committee meeting, but a management meeting.”
Nora turned to her general secretary who was operating a laptop nearby. He beckoned her to prepare a presentation.
Nora stood up and shifted the blackboard to the center of the room. He wrote ‘Music Extracurricular Work Program of 2023/2024’ on board with black marker.
“This is our working program for this year,” Nora said as she pointed to the writing. “We will discuss what activities we will do during this stewardship.”
Nora smiled faintly and continued, “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for coming to our first meeting. Today we will only discuss our work program for this year. Anyone have any suggestions or suggestions?”
Rian's hand was raised. He is a member of the musical instrument division who is good at playing guitar. He smiled and said, “I have a suggestion, Nora. What if we have a music workshop? We can learn more about how to play a musical instrument and sing. We can invite professional instructors or experienced musicians.”
Nora nodded. I like the idea of Rian. He asked the other members, “Who agrees with Rian's idea? Music workshop could be one of our work program.”
Nora smile. He's been thinking about that. He replied, “That's also what we should think about, Tara. We have to budget and find a source of funds for music workshops. Maybe we can submit a proposal to the school or find sponsors from outside.”
Nora saw the other members nodding. They seemed interested in the idea of a music workshop. Nora was happy. He hopes that this meeting can run smoothly and productively.
Nora closed the files discussed in the extracurricular music meeting. He looked at the faces of the members present with a warm smile. “Thank you, Dika. I greatly appreciate his help. Anyone else want to add?” he said with a friendly tone.
Suddenly, a hand was raised high among the crowd. A long-haired and cheerful-faced girl jumped up and down from her chair. “I have a suggestion, Nora. In addition to the music workshop, I also had an idea to create an inter-school music festival. We can invite other schools that have extracurricular music to participate in the music festival. We can display our musical works and also see the musical works from other schools.” He speaks with passion.
Nora nodded while listening to the proposal of Lia, one of the most active and creative members in extracurricular music. He was impressed by the idea of an inter-school music festival proposed by Lia. However, he also realized that the idea was not easy to realize. “Wah, cool idea, Lia. Inter-school music festivals can be a place of friendship and music appreciation. But, of course, music festivals also cost a lot. Are we willing to do it?” he said with doubt.
Lia did not lose her spirit. He was convinced that the inter-school music festival was a brilliant and rewarding idea. He has several solutions to overcome the cost problems that may arise. “I think we can, Nora. We can work with other schools that participate in music festivals to share costs and responsibilities. We can also look for sponsors or donors who want to support the music festival,” he replied with a big smile.
Nora felt confident in Lia's answer. He saw that Lia had prepared the idea of an inter-school music festival with maturity and detail. He decided to approve the proposal and invited other members to give his opinion. “Alright, Lia. I love this idea of an inter-school music festival. Who agrees?” he asked while holding his hand.
Soon, the other arms were lifted into the air, shouting.
“I agree, Nora. The music festival between schools must be fun and exciting. We can share experiences and learn from other schools.” That's the voice of Dika, the extracurricular head of music before Nora.
“I also agree, Nora. Inter-school music festivals definitely add insight and motivation to our work in music.” That's the voice of Rani, one of the most accomplished senior members of guitar playing.
“Sama, I also agree, Nora. Inter-school music festivals definitely enhance the achievements and extracurricular reputation of our music.” It was the voice of Rizky, one of the most avid junior members of vocal training.
“OK, friends. It seems like we all agree with the idea of music workshops and music festivals between schools as our extracurricular advanced music work program for this management year. Now, let's create an implementation plan and budget for both work programs.” Nora wrote down some of the results of the meeting this time with satisfaction, at least there are definite results.
The meeting went smoothly even though there were obstacles in waiting for members who came not according to the promised hour. When she wanted to go home, Nora saw a sight that attracted her. In front of the school gate, there were some people who were bulldozing a student. Nora picked up her phone and began recording the incident secretly. He had plans to use the footage as investigative material.
“By the way, you guys are going to get in trouble,” muttered Nora with a mysterious smile on her lips.
