Justin pressed the doorknob of Mr. Romanov's den with a hesitant gesture. She's nervous. Because based on existing experience, he never managed to guess let alone know what things Mr. Romanov would say to him. Everything the middle-aged man did always managed to surprise him.
Not going in right away, Justin chose to pop his head out of the slightly open door.
"Excuse me, grandpa?" said Justin.
Mr. Romanov who seemed to be working on something on his desk suddenly stopped his work and looked at Justin.
He smiled gently.
"Justin." she told Justin, saying hello back.
"Did you really want to meet me?" tanyanya doubt.
Mr. Romanov was silent for a few seconds.
After that, without answering a word Mr. Romanov pointed towards the sofa that was in the middle of the room with his chin, hinting the young man to sit there.
Justin nodded his head obediently and immediately stepped his foot into the room. Mr. Romanov then got up from his chair and stepped onto the sofa and sat there.
For a while Justin just stayed on that couch. He kept looking at Mr. Romanov's face, as if he was waiting for the middle-aged man to say what he wanted to say to him. The reason why he asked Justin to come to this room.
"Honestly, grandfather would like to thank you very much for being willing to come here tonight" Mr. Romanov smiled.
"Ah, it is precisely I who should thank you for being allowed to enjoy a very good meal." Justin replied with a shy smile.
"You think the food is good?"
"Yes, it tastes so good. I've almost never enjoyed this much food before."
Mr. Romanov chuckles.
"You can come every night if you want to enjoy the food you want. Grandpa can ask Mario to come get you here later."
"Ah, thank you, but that's not necessary, cake!" Justin shook his head quickly. He certainly still has some shame. Yeah, how shameless he would be if he did something like that.
Upon hearing Justin's reply, Mr. Romanov smiled meaningfully. He understood clearly that Justin must have felt bad about his offer just now.
The situation suddenly turned silent after that. And a few seconds later Mr. Romanov was heard sighing.
"Justin," he exclaimed as he lowered his head.
"Yes, cake?"
"Grandfather hopes that from now on you will come here more often. You're free to come and go from this mansion."
"I'll visit if I have time, cake" Justin said.
No matter how free he is to come, but where possible he will continue to come here. He knows what the term 'know thyself' is'. He smiled smirkingly while shaking his head slowly.
"You're important to grandfather. And grandpa told Paul to tell the whole mansion about who you are. Grandpa just doesn't want any guards or servants to come after you when you come here."
Justin stared in surprise at the middle-aged man.
Mr. Romanov has said the same thing several times to him. At first Justin felt that Mr. Romanov was just saying the words as a pleasant speech so that Justin felt comfortable. But in the end Justin realized that Mr. Romanov did not mess with his words.
“Sorry before, cake. But why are you so good with me? If the reason was because of the accident at that time, Grandpa would not have given me compensation. I have also received it. But this. why..."
"If you ask me a reason. Grandpa doesn't know why Grandpa did this. Maybe if you really need a reason for this, then grandpa will say there's no reason, because grandpa just wants to do it."
"No reason?"
"Grandpa doesn't need a reason, Justin. Grandpa just likes you so much. In your nature. Where else do you think grandpa should find a good man like you?"
"I think there are so many good people in this world."
"But it didn't attract grandfather's attention." said Mr. Romanov. "Grandfather is the one who is disinclined. Everyone will be good in front of grandfather. That's why nothing caught Grandpa's attention. But you're different. You've been able to attract grandfather's attention even in just one of our meetings. To grandfather, you're sincere."
Mr. Romanov's reply managed to make Justin speechless for a while. He can't answer anything.
"You know, grandfather will always look at you like grandfather's grandson" Mr. Romanov told him
Justin was silent for a moment before starting to return to reply, "I know, grandfather has already said it a few times. Grandfather also asked me to call with the name 'grandfather' right? And I also think that you're like my grandfather."
"Therefore, grandfather did all this for you. Grandpa always loves you like Grandpa's own granddaughter. So don't even question why Grandpa keeps doing good to you."
Justin was silent. He sat stunned as he listened to Mr. Romanov.
"I'm sorry to question all the kindness Grandpa gave me." Justin lowered his head.
"Don't hesitate." Mr. Romanov smiled.
"So grandpa knows why you're questioning what Grandpa's doing. You must be feeling confused because of the kindness Grandpa gave you all of a sudden."
"Grandfather only hoped that you would continue to receive what grandfather would give you."
Justin nodded, "I will do my best to respond well to what grandfather gave me so as not to disappoint him.
This time Mr. Romanov did not answer anything but simply smiled at the young man before him.
Justin glanced at the clock on his phone.
He sighed and gave a smile to Mr. Romanov. "I have to go, cake!"
"Are you going home?"
"Yes, sir." Justin nodded
Mr. Romanov looked at the clock on his wrist. "Grandfather thinks it's too late for you to come home, you can stay here."
"Ah, that problem..I can't, cake!"
"But why?"
"I..." Justin paused his sentence with an awkward smile. "I had to drop off the paper in the morning, I was afraid I was late to get home."
"That's what it looks like."
"Then I go home first, cake." said Justin while saluting Mr. Romanov. He stood up and walked straight to the exit of the room.
Mr. Romanov was silent, seemingly thinking of something in his head. He turned his head and saw Justin walking away from him.
"Justin!" yells.
Hearing the cry, Justin's hand that was almost holding the door knob immediately stopped. He turned his head to Mr. Romanov.
"Yes?" justin replied later.
"Grandfather will ask someone to drive you."
