Chapter 30: The Losers

Brakk!!

One wolf rolled on the ground and immediately turned into a human.

"Ahh shit!"

"Mahaha.."

"Shut up!"

"No, this is funny. Ahahaha!!" steve's laughter broke. He even held his stomach.

"Truly shit!!" Thomas waving leaves on his head and hands.

"Why is it still wrong? You're less concentrated."

"I've done all the beta hints." Thomas ruffled his hair and stood up. He looks upset.

"No, that's not true. Do it again."

Thomas sighed then went back to preparing in his position.

"Let me just Beta." Jose bargained.

"No, I'll do it."

"But beta, you've done it since."

"I'm doing fine. Hurry up."

Thomas turned into a wolf and prepared. Derek has changed too. They each stand by. Thomas attacked Derek. Derek easily dodged. Derek just kept dodging. He wants to train the speed and power of the gamma. But Thomas just can't keep up with Derek's movements.

There were no long sounds of noise coming from outside. Some people brought one unconscious person. Derek transforms himself into a human and approaches them.

"What's this about? Who's that?"

"One of the Rogue who attacked the city of RiverVille."

"You got it."

"Yes beta, not without difficulty of course."

"That's great. Let's go see the alpha and get him."

"Good beta."

Everyone starts to follow Derek, except for the gamma who trained with Derek.

"Look at the losers" said one man who was with the group carrying a rogue.

"What did you say?"

"PE-CUN-DANG. That's you guys."

"Suck!!" Thomas wants to hit the guy but Jose and Steve get in the way.

"Calm down Tom."

"No! Unhand me! I'll teach him a lesson!!"

"Wahhh!! My dear I'm not afraid." said the man again. "It is not necessary to be near beta to get results. You three nights on patrol with beta, then what's the result? You guys always practice with beta, so what's the result? Hmh! How sad! We get one rogue without being in the shadow of beta. You're just losers!!"

"That's Emmet, go! Don't look for trouble." said Jose. He could no longer hold Thomas' body. Thomas was already so angry and wanted to change himself, but Jose and Steve tried to prevent it. "Calm down Tom, there's no need to serve him."

Emmet simply threw a spit at his feet, smiled triumphantly, and left.

Thomas let go of Jose and Steve's hands violently. He sniffed in annoyance.

"He's outrageous." said Steve.

"You know that. But why should it stop me from beating him?! He needs a lesson!!"

"Calm Tom. I know he's a jerk. But against him what will we get?"

"At least I can be satisfied." Thomas said. He sat on an empty bench.

"just free. He won't win even if you let him fight."

Everyone looked at the direction of the voice. Gyria stood with a tray filled with drinks. He put the drink next to Thomas.

"What did you mean?" asked Thomas who had been staring at Gyria with a dislike look.

"I said you wouldn't win against him." Gyria picked up the tray and immediately moved. But Thomas stood up suddenly and blocked the path.

"What's? You insulting me?"

"Dignores? No. gabe. I'm telling the truth." Gyria pushed Thomas' body slowly so he could walk back. But Thomas got in the way.

"You're not going anywhere until you explain."

"Oh come.. Don't be childish."

"You insulted me first." Thomas emphasized his words. Thomas stared hard at Gyria. Gyria returned her gaze then sighed in annoyance.

"Aakhhh alright.. Come." Comehere."

Gyria steps away from the park bench followed by Thomas who is still confused. Gyria stopped and looked at Thomas.

"Let's attack me."

"What's? You're crazy."

"I'm not crazy. Just attack me."

"What did I attack you for?"

"If you can beat me, then you can beat your fucking friend."

"What??" Thomas laughed out loud. "Look at him! He's going crazy."

"Why? Are you scared?"

Those words were enough to stop Thomas' laughter.

"That's arrogant. But.. Lt's not. Haha... Fighting women is not my style."

"Dearly enough. I thought gamma was under Derek the brave. There are cowards."

"Don't make me beat you up, miss."

"Ohh believe. That's what I'm waiting for."

Gyria looks confident. Makes Thomas frown.

"Why shut up? Start off. Fight me."

"This girl-"

"Hey, hey.. Never mind.. Miss, she's physically stronger than all of us. So-so"

"Just do. My time is not much. Do you want to change yourself or not? I can both."

Thomas, Jose and Steve looked at each other.

"Or... You're too scared because I'm a woman. I can understand that. Alright." Gyria walked away. Thomas quickly prevented it by holding Gyria's shoulder. Gyria quickly pulled a little Thomas' hand and slammed it forward.

"Akkh... Shit.." lamented Thomas.

"Ohh sorry.. Yaah sick.. Maybe I need to slow down a bit." said Gyria relaxed. Both of his hands are folded. Steve and Jose can only talk.

"no need. I can fight you." Thomas stood up quickly and prepared. "alright. Give me your best attack."

Gyria looked at Thomas from top to bottom, hesitating.

"Don't look at me like that. Let's get started."

"I'll be a little-"

"No, no.." Thomas nodded quickly. "Give me your best attack."

"Uhm.. Tom, I think-"

"You guys just stay there. I'll deal with it."

"It seems very confident, it's good." complimented Gyria. "I'm coming."

"Take out all your abilities."

"Ohh.. You'll regret it later." Gyria warned.

"Calm down.. I'm not a coward."

"God! Let's see it later."

Thomas again attacked Gyria and repeatedly crashed. He tried to hit, kick and even did all the martial arts he was taught, but Gyria remained standing. Even Gyria was not injured in the slightest. Thomas mutters himself into a wolf and attacks Gyria. Gyria is crushed by the wolf's body.

"H-hey Tom.. Just slow. Don't be so rude!" squealed Jose but Thomas did not listen. Thomas attacks Gyria brutally. The gyria that was starting to get overwhelmed turned into wolves. He watched Thomas.

Thomas growled and ran towards Gyria and attacked him. Gyria can dodge easily and then attack back. Gyria stuck her fangs on Thomas' wolf body. Thomas groaned in pain and immediately turned around. But yet to retaliate, Gyria had pushed hard on Thomas' body to the ground and stepped on his body, holding Thomas' wolf body to stay on the ground. Thomas tries to break away but Gyria is stronger than him.

"Give up Thomas. You're no match for me"

Thomas doesn't care. He's still rebelling. But the more he revolted, the stronger Gyria stepped on him.

"You're giving up now??"

"Never"

Thomas tried again and this time he succeeded.

"Oh come on Tom, stop this!!" pinta Jose's. But Thomas was already upset. Thomas leaped high, right towards the body of the Gyria wolf. Gyria quickly dodged and immediately hit Tom's body from the side, as Tom's body had not even landed on the ground. Tom rolled on the ground. Gyria is back on Tom's body. Tom turned back, but Gyria was already growling violently and loudly, revealing his teeth. His eyes sharply looked at Tom, leaving Tom speechless for a moment. Seeing Tom who had calmed down, Gyria let go. Gyria walked away and turned herself behind a tree. Steve handed over the jacket he wore to Gyria. Gyria picked up the jacket then picked up the tray and immediately left without saying anything.

Thomas became human. He walked up to Steve and Jose who were still seeing Gyria leave.

"She can't be underestimated" Steve commented.

"That's true what my mother said first."

"What is Jose?"

"My mother once said that when I was a child, she said that the female wolves in the Crysort pack were strong wolves. They were trained hard. He said that's why their pack was destroyed, for fear of being rivaled."

"It's so cruel."

"I thought it was just a fairytale, but seeing him fight with Thomas earlier, he was really good at fighting. I think that story is true."

"It is only fitting that when we fight them first, they are difficult to defeat. Moreover, they are unyielding. Though wounded, they still rise."

"You're right Steve. They're amazing."

Steve looked at Thomas. "You okay?"

"Yeah.. Injured, but I'm good and you're right. He cannot be underestimated at all. I was wrong about that. But something's weird."

Jose and Steve both looked at Thomas.

"Whatchu mean? What's so weird?"

"You know, when he overstretched me with his legs last time? I was quiet at the time. I saw his aura, his wolf aura was similar to someone."

"someone? Who?"

"Beta Crane. That's why I'm silent because I'm surprised."

"Wait, if their auras are the same... Are they brother sisters? Or..."

"Mate." said Jose and Thomas together.

Gyria is back in school. He is reluctant to do so even more so the absence of Allana at school. But her mother kept forcing her. Moreover, he had to take his sister to school as well.

Gyria sat in the cafeteria, stirring her food without eating it.

"You sick or what??"

"What do you want? Justsaytheword. Then get out of my sight."

"It's a common patch you know. Everyone is free here." Erica sat in front of Gyria. Gyria stared disliked. "Now tell me, how's Allana doing?"

Gyria shrugged both of her shoulders. "Eitherway. I don't know."

"You were the last one to meet her."

"Yes and after that I don't know anymore. They disappeared without a trace. The temple too."

"That's weird. Could that be so?"

"Looks could. The proof is that it happened."

"So... We can't know Allana's situation?"

"I guess not. The temple did that. Maybe that's best for Allana, I guess. We don't know where Allana is, I don't think Chloe's luna is either. So maybe that's for the best."

"But I'm worried."

"me too. Unfortunately we don't have any information about that temple."

"Yah!! I think I know!" squeak Erica.

"Stttt... You're a real fuss. Know what?"

"Know where I can get information about that temple."

"Where??"

"My cousin. Well not a close cousin. He's my mother's cousin's son. He's just a human being."

"How can ordinary humans know about werewolf temples while we werewolves don't?"

"He's not just an ordinary man. I heard from my mother, she's a human covenant keeper of supernatural beings."

"He's... What's?"

Gyria fell silent while Erica started eating her lunch.

"All right, I'm coming."

"You sure? We'll go quietly. Your mother must have-"

"Not to worry. I was on your pack that I believe is safe. So he'll be fine. I'll find a reason to leave."

"All right then. I'm waiting tonight at eleven in the woods behind the school."

"Deal!"

"Deal? What's the deal?" hope who just arrived. Gyria and Erica were shocked.

"Eh? Oh.. It's okay Hope. Come sit down." said Erica quickly. Hope obeyed.

"You guys... You two collided once? Aren't you hostile?"

"It's not always that we have to be hostile to Hope. We're all Allana's friends anyway."

"You're right. I miss him." Hope lowered her head.

"We are also Hope."

"But he's evil!" hope suddenly.

"Evil... Why?"

"He didn't even say goodbye. That party! He left us at the party!" Hope pouting.

"Hope, maybe he has a reason."

"But what?!"

"We'll ask after he gets back, okay? Now, let's eat."

"No, no taste. What if.... We're going to the burger again?"

"Aren't we there yesterday?"

Hope was back in a frown. Erica and Gyria chuckled amusedly.

"Let's go, I don't care. All I want is to eat that burger, go home from school."

"Alright, alright.. We're going home from school."

"Yes!! You're the best, ever!! Ahhe... You can go with Gyria."

"Ahhh.no, no... I'm fine."

"Ohh come... We ate the burger together. I'll buy it!"

"No need, I really-"

"I don't accept rejection. Anyway you're coming. Ahh yes! I have a cheers meeting. I'm waiting for school. Byeeee.." without waiting for Erica to speak, Hope immediately left them.

"Bas with the boy." Erica shook her head in wonder. "Follow us after school, there's no harm."

"It's not wrong. But aren't we leaving tonight? There's something I want to do before it becomes.. I'm not coming."

"Well okay. It's up to you."

"So, eleven in the woods behind the school?"

"Yup."

"Okee.see you there. I have to go." Gyria ran away from the canteen.

Some of the spells read were heard all over the corner of the room. Some people sat in a circle while incessantly reciting the mantra. There was one person in the middle of their circle. One person who also sat crossed legs and with his eyes closed, tried to concentrate.

"AAARRRGGGHHHHH!! STOPIT! STOP ALL!!"

The woman suddenly stood up and shouted.

"I don't want to do this stupid thing anymore!"

"But Luna.."

"No! All I need is the kid, just Allana."

"We don't know where he is."

"Then look for it!! What have you been doing all this time?! Aren't you my father's loyal followers?!"

"Your army has been trying to find him. But you know, the temple is hiding which means it takes magic to find it. Only your father's magic can find it and it's inside you."

"Are you even sure that power exists?"

"of course. Just need to be raised."

"But how do you know that magic is inside me? Maybe the magic is in.... My sister's.."

"Not your sister luna. He couldn't accept that power."

Luna Chloe was silent. He refuses to do what he thinks is a waste of his time. But if this is the way to find Allana, she has no other choice.

"Alright, but I don't have much time."

"We understand. Take it easy, we're almost there."

"Good."

Luna Chloe sat back down and tried to concentrate again.

A startling voice of Erica who was waiting in the dark of the forest.

"Sorry, I'm late."

"I've assumed you're off the hook."

"Of course not. There's just a little problem with my mom and the patrol schedule."

"Well, are you ready?"

"Of course, but.. Where are we going?"

"Rotternville City."

"Where is that?"

"Follow it. Let's just change. If we leave now, before dawn. Come on."

Erica begins to change herself and leaves with Gyria. They went through a long, cold night. Trying to evade the night patrol that Erica's pack is doing.

Just before dawn, they arrive at a forest that looks different from RiverVille. The trunk of the tree is small and high towering upwards. Unlike the RiverVille whose trees are big enough.

"We have arrived. His home is south of town. Come on."

Erica ran back. Gyria faithfully followed him from behind.

Suddenly there were a few steps on their right and left sides. They're being followed.

"Damn!"

"Who are they? Are we entering their pack?"

"Of course not. Rotternville is a neutral territory, similar to RiverVille. No one controls this territory."

"But we are clearly followed. What's rogue?"

Erica turned her head to look into the eyes of one of the wolves chasing them. Bluest.

"No, they're not Rogue. Their eyes are colored."

"That means this territory belongs to someone."

"No way."

Erica stopped suddenly and faced the wolves.

"Erica! You're crazy!"

"Sooner or later they'll catch us. So, we'll just face it. What do you want?!"

The wolves were growling towards them slowly. They prepare to attack each other.
